Choose the platform that matches the hardware you already own and the way you want to play. PC is the most flexible choice if you want officially supported controllers and a compatible computer. PlayStation is the straightforward option for players who prefer a console. iPhone, iPad, and Android are best when portability matters most, provided your device meets the current requirements.
Zenless Zone Zero supports cross-save across PC, iOS, Android, PlayStation, and Xbox when you use the same linked HoYoverse Account. That makes changing devices practical, but server selection and account linking determine whether your progress follows you.
What platforms does Zenless Zone Zero support?
The platform list has expanded since launch, so old articles can be misleading. HoYoverse’s July 2, 2024 launch notice listed PC, Android, iOS, and PlayStation 5. It also stated that Mac was not supported at that time. A HoYoverse cross-save article updated September 9, 2025 names PC, iOS, Android, PlayStation, and Xbox as supported platforms.

The title of this guide focuses on PC, PlayStation, and mobile, but Xbox matters if you are deciding where your account should live in the current supported ecosystem. The available evidence does not establish a complete, current list of every supported PlayStation model or Mac support, so check HoYoverse’s latest platform notice before buying hardware specifically for the game.

How cross-save works across platforms
Cross-save is the feature that makes the platform decision less permanent. HoYoverse says game data can synchronize across PC, iOS, Android, PlayStation, and Xbox when you sign in with the same linked HoYoverse Account.
Use one HoYoverse Account everywhere
- Create or identify the HoYoverse Account you intend to keep using.
- Sign in to that account on each platform rather than creating a separate guest or platform-only identity.
- On PlayStation, link the PSN account to the HoYoverse ID as directed by HoYoverse’s PlayStation account guidance.
- Before starting a new game on another device, confirm that the account shown is the one containing your existing progress.
Starting the game under a different login can make an empty profile appear even when your original progress is safe. Check the account before spending time on a new save.
Server choice still matters
HoYoverse’s PS5 FAQ explains that different servers cannot exchange account data. Cross-save is therefore not a universal merge tool: the same linked account must also be using a compatible server. If progress is missing after a platform switch, verify the server region and account identity before reinstalling or creating another profile.
Purchases may follow platform rules
Account progress and store transactions are separate concerns. Platform payment and account-linking rules can impose restrictions, especially when moving between console and PC or mobile. HoYoverse’s PlayStation FAQ should be checked before making a purchase that you expect to manage from another platform. Do not assume that a purchase made through one store will behave identically in every other store.

PC: the best choice for officially supported controllers
PC is the strongest general recommendation for players who want input flexibility. In a HoYoverse Help Center article updated October 8, 2025, HoYoverse states: “Controller support is currently available only on PC.” The same article lists DualSense, DualSense Edge, DualShock 4, Xbox wireless, and Xbox Elite wireless controllers.
Why choose PC
- You can use a supported controller instead of touch controls or a console-only setup.
- You can play on a desktop or laptop you already own, avoiding a second dedicated device.
- Cross-save lets you continue on mobile, PlayStation, or Xbox when the account and server are configured correctly.
- A PC is easier to replace or upgrade incrementally than a fixed console, although the game’s current requirements still determine whether your hardware is suitable.
Check current PC compatibility
The launch notice included recommended PC specifications, but those were published July 2, 2024 and should not be treated as the definitive requirements for every later version. HoYoverse’s minimum-requirements article was updated August 26, 2025. Because requirements can change with patches, compare your operating system, processor, graphics hardware, memory, and free storage with the current official requirements page before installing.
The available official material does not provide a complete current PC benchmark comparison against PlayStation or mobile. That means you should not choose PC on the assumption that it automatically provides a higher frame rate, faster loading, better graphics, or longer battery life. Those outcomes depend on the specific computer, display, drivers, and settings.
Set up a controller on PC
- Connect a supported controller to the PC by USB or its supported wireless method.
- Start Zenless Zone Zero and open its input or controller settings.
- Confirm that the game detects the controller before entering a difficult combat sequence.
- Keep keyboard and mouse available if you prefer using them for menus or text entry.
A controller is optional. The important distinction is that HoYoverse’s reviewed support guidance documents controller support for PC, not Android or iOS.

PlayStation: choose it when the console is your natural home
PlayStation is the uncomplicated choice for someone who already spends most gaming time on a PlayStation console. The July 2024 launch announcement specifically listed PlayStation 5. Later HoYoverse cross-save guidance refers to PlayStation as part of the supported platform group, but the supplied official material does not provide a current model-by-model compatibility table.
Advantages of staying on PlayStation
- You can use the console and controller setup you already know.
- You do not need to evaluate PC components or mobile thermal limits.
- Your progress can continue on PC, mobile, or Xbox if the PSN and HoYoverse accounts are linked correctly and the server matches.
What to verify before starting
Account linking is more important on PlayStation because the PSN identity is part of the sign-in flow. Link the intended PSN account to the intended HoYoverse ID before building a long-term save. Also confirm the selected server. If you start with the wrong account or an incompatible server, moving the profile later may not be possible.
PlayStation is not automatically the best choice for visual quality or performance. No comparable official platform tests were identified, so any ranking on resolution, frame rate, loading time, or image quality would depend on unverified assumptions.
Mobile: the most portable option, with the strictest compatibility check
Mobile makes the game available during commutes, travel, or short sessions away from a desk or television. That portability is a practical advantage of the device category, not a measured performance claim. The trade-off is that phones and tablets vary widely, and HoYoverse’s requirements are version-sensitive.

Android minimums published by HoYoverse
The official minimum-requirements article updated August 26, 2025 specifies these Android-side minimums in the available excerpt:
- Qualcomm Snapdragon 855, MediaTek Dimensity 1200, or Huawei Kirin 990 processor.
- At least 8 GB of RAM.
- Android 11 or later, or HarmonyOS 4 or later.
- At least 20 GB of available storage.
Meeting a minimum does not guarantee a particular frame rate, temperature, battery runtime, or visual setting. Leave additional free space for updates, and check the current requirements page because later versions may change the supported device range.
iPhone and iPad considerations
iOS was a launch platform and remains part of HoYoverse’s cross-save guidance. The supplied official material does not state a complete current iPhone or iPad model list, so use HoYoverse’s latest iOS requirements rather than relying on a launch-era compatibility article. Confirm storage and operating-system support before downloading.

Android and iOS controller limitation
HoYoverse’s October 8, 2025 controller article says controller support is currently available only on PC and excludes Android and iOS. If physical controls are essential, choose PC or a supported console instead of assuming a Bluetooth controller will work on mobile. Touch controls remain the expected mobile input method under that guidance.

- On PlayStation, verify that the intended PSN account is linked to that HoYoverse ID.
- Select the same compatible server and wait for the account data to synchronize.
- Confirm that your existing profile, progression, and settings appear before making purchases or starting a second save.
Fix the most common cross-platform problems
An empty account appears
Sign out and check the exact HoYoverse Account identity. A different email, login method, or platform-linked profile can open a new save. Then verify the server.
The server is unavailable or progress is missing
Different servers cannot exchange account data according to HoYoverse’s PS5 FAQ. Return to the original device, note its server, and select that same server on the new platform.
The controller does not respond on mobile
This is expected under HoYoverse’s October 2025 controller guidance, which documents controller support for PC only and excludes Android and iOS. Use touch controls on mobile or move the session to PC or a supported console.

Compare the device with the current official minimum requirements, including operating-system version, processor class, RAM, and free storage. Android devices below Snapdragon 855, Dimensity 1200, or Kirin 990 class, with less than 8 GB of RAM or less than 20 GB free space, do not meet the published minimum excerpt.
Final recommendation
There is no evidence-based universal winner. Pick PC when controller support and flexibility are priorities, PlayStation when that is the console you already use, and mobile when portability outweighs the limitations of touch input and device compatibility. Whichever you choose, make the linked HoYoverse Account and server choice deliberately; those two details determine whether cross-save works when you move to another screen.
