Zenefits onboarding has two sides: an administrator prepares the new hire through the employer’s hiring workflow, while the employee registers an account and completes the onboarding steps presented to them. For exact screens and required information, sign in to the employer’s TriNet account; the public help pages do not document a full click-by-click sequence.

Which onboarding process applies to you?

TriNet’s help center separates Administrator Onboarding from Employee Onboarding. The administrator handles the employer-side setup; the employee completes their own account and onboarding tasks. If you are unsure which role applies, ask your employer or HR contact.

The help center’s public Getting Started page links to both resources, but says users must sign in to a TriNet account to search and view all help articles: Getting Started.

For employees: register and complete your onboarding steps

  1. Start with your employer’s invitation or registration instructions. Use the instructions provided by your employer to register for your account.
  2. Complete the onboarding items shown in your account. The specific steps may depend on your employer’s setup and the information requested for your hire.
  3. Open your dashboard. TriNet’s New Hire Onboarding training describes the broad employee flow as registering an account, completing onboarding steps, and accessing the dashboard.

The course is labeled as four minutes long; that is the training course’s duration, not an estimate of how long your actual onboarding will take. The public description does not list a universal sequence of screens or required fields.

For administrators: use the employer-side hiring resources

Begin with the Administrator Onboarding and Hiring resources available through your employer’s TriNet account. TriNet’s Hiring training catalog includes courses on hiring a new employee and verifying an employee’s I-9 documents.

The public course descriptions confirm that these resources exist, but they do not provide a complete administrator click path. Employee invitations, required data, and controls should be confirmed in your signed-in account rather than inferred from a general guide. Follow the requirements applicable to your organization and the individual employee.

Benefits enrollment, including the mobile option

If benefits enrollment is part of the employee’s onboarding, TriNet’s Completing an Insurance Enrollment course describes a process that includes verifying information, selecting or declining plans, completing an application, and approving a selection. A separate mobile app enrollment course covers enrollment on mobile.

These are training descriptions, not a guarantee that every employer offers the same plans or follows an identical enrollment flow. Use the options and instructions presented in the employee’s account.

When you cannot find a step or control

  • Sign in to the relevant employer’s TriNet account before searching the help center; public visitors may not be able to view all articles.
  • Ask your HR or account administrator to clarify an invitation, missing task, or organization-specific requirement.
  • Do not assume a particular button name, invitation schedule, or screen order from public course descriptions; those details are not established there.
