The Zeek Original is an Australian foam mattress-in-a-box marketed as firm. Reviewers describe good support and limited partner disturbance, but less bounce than an innerspring mattress. It may suit people who prefer a firmer all-foam feel; comfort is personal, and the advertised trial, warranty, stock and price should be checked before ordering.
What the Zeek Original is
The Zeek Original is an all-foam mattress sold compressed in a box. Zeek describes its construction as a soft Tencel cover, air foam, gel memory foam, a firmer centre-third PU foam layer and a high-density base. Those are the manufacturer’s material and design descriptions, not independent confirmation of cooling or other performance claims. Zeek also says the mattress is compatible with adjustable beds. Check the official product page for current details and availability.
Specifications vary by size. CHOICE’s listing for the double model gives eight layers, a thickness of 24.5 cm, dimensions of 189 × 137 × 24.5 cm, and a weight of 23 kg. It records the claimed firmness as firm. The listing displayed a $999 price and a $649 price paid on sale or after bargaining; these are recorded listing figures, not current quotes. CHOICE’s expert rating and test results are member-only, so their details cannot be used here. See CHOICE’s Zeek Original listing.

How firm and supportive does it feel?
Bedbuyer, in a review updated July 29, 2026, describes the mattress as firm and gives it 8/10 on its own firmness scale. Bedbuyer cautions that this scale is a guide and may differ from manufacturer ratings. Its overall rating is 3.7/5. These are that publisher’s review judgments, not our test results or a measure of how most sleepers will feel.

Bedbuyer reports that its reviewers found good support, but firmness alone cannot predict individual comfort. Sleep position, body shape and personal preference affect whether a firm surface feels supportive or uncomfortable. The review discusses suitability for back, side and stomach sleepers as an assessment that varies between individuals, not a guarantee of fit. If you are unsure, use the trial only after reading the current return conditions.
Motion isolation versus bounce
Bedbuyer’s review says the all-foam construction reduces partner disturbance. It also notes that the mattress is less responsive and has less bounce than many innerspring designs. That trade-off matters if one person is easily disturbed by a partner’s movement, but also if you prefer a springier feel or move around frequently on the bed. Bedbuyer’s observations describe its review process; they are not independent testing by this publication.

Check your bed base before ordering
Bedbuyer recommends a solid frame or ensemble base and says slats should be no more than 8 cm apart. It warns that an unsupportive foundation may affect warranty coverage. Although Zeek and Bedbuyer describe the Original as suitable for adjustable bases, verify your specific base and the current warranty wording before placing the mattress on it.
What customer comments can—and cannot—tell you
Comments on ProductReview.com.au are mixed: one reviewer praises comfort over several years and reports no noticeable sagging, while another says the Original felt too hot, too soft and unsupportive and expresses dissatisfaction with the trial. These are individual anecdotes, not evidence of how common either experience is. The page is titled for the Zeek Hybrid, so the negative comment should be understood as referring specifically to the Original, not taken as a review of every Zeek model.
