Choose Zander if low-cost identity monitoring and restoration are your main priorities and you are comfortable managing credit monitoring separately. Choose Aura if you want traditional credit monitoring and a broader identity, financial-fraud, privacy, and device-security bundle. Their headline coverage figures are not directly equivalent: Aura describes an insurance policy, while Zander says its reimbursement service is not an insurance product.
Prices and features below reflect provider pages available in 2026 and can change. Check the current plan details and governing terms before enrolling.
How Zander and Aura differ
Zander’s public offering is centered on identity monitoring, restoration assistance, and reimbursement. Aura sells a wider digital-protection suite that combines identity and financial-fraud features with credit monitoring and security tools. That difference—not the largest advertised dollar limit—is the most useful starting point for comparing them.

What the plans cost in 2026
Aura’s listed household prices
Aura lists three household sizes and two billing choices. Annual-billed monthly rates are lower than the month-to-month rates shown on its page; annual billing means paying on an annual cadence, not buying a monthly subscription at that rate.
| Plan | Household listed | Annual billing | Monthly billing |
|---|---|---|---|
| Individual | One adult; 10 devices | $12/month | $15/month |
| Couple | Two adults; 20 devices | $22/month | $29/month |
| Family | Five adults, unlimited children; 50 devices | $32/month | $50/month |
Aura’s plan page also lists a 14-day free trial and a 60-day money-back guarantee on annual plans. Offers, eligibility, prices, and inclusions may change; check the page and checkout terms for the offer available to you. Aura plan details
Zander’s advertised starting price
Zander’s public page advertises service “for as little as $6.75 per month” or $75 per year. It does not provide a complete, clearly dated price table for Essential and Elite, so the starting figure should not be treated as the price of every tier or household configuration. A Cybernews comparison reports Essential starting at $6.75 monthly and Elite from $11.99 monthly for an individual, with its pricing snapshot dated September 10, 2026; verify those tier prices with Zander before relying on them. Credit monitoring and what Elite adds
If you want conventional credit-file monitoring as part of the same subscription, Aura has the clearer fit in the reviewed comparison: it describes three-bureau monitoring. The comparison says Zander does not include traditional credit monitoring in its plans, although Elite includes Experian CreditLock. CreditLock is not the same claim as three-bureau monitoring; check the current plan descriptions to see exactly what is monitored and what alerts or controls are included. Cybernews comparison
Zander’s FAQ says Elite adds UltraVPN, antivirus, Experian CreditLock, and financial account takeover monitoring. It also advises against running multiple antivirus programs at the same time, which matters if you already use security software. The FAQ lists Ultra Antivirus compatibility as Windows 10 and later and macOS 10.15 and later. Zander FAQ
Aura’s published bundle includes identity and financial-fraud protection alongside privacy and device-security features. Its Family plan also lists child identity protection, parental controls, and safe gaming. The exact tools and limits vary by plan, so compare the feature list for the specific household tier rather than assuming every feature is included at every level. Aura plan details
Insurance and reimbursement are different promises
Aura: identity theft insurance
Aura describes identity theft insurance of up to $1 million per adult, up to $2 million for Couple, and up to $5 million for Family. Its insurance page says eligible out-of-pocket expenses can include legal fees and lost wages. “Up to” is a maximum, not a guaranteed payment, and “eligible” means the policy’s conditions matter. Review the governing policy for covered expenses, exclusions, claim requirements, and limits before treating the headline amount as protection for a particular loss. Aura insurance details

Zander: reimbursement service
Zander advertises reimbursement up to $1 million, or $2 million on family plans, but its page explicitly states: “This is not an insurance product.” Do not read its reimbursement ceiling as equivalent to an insurance policy limit. The public page does not establish every eligible cost or condition, so ask for the applicable service terms and determine what expenses qualify and how a claim is handled. Which service should you choose?
Choose Zander if
- Your priority is an advertised lower starting price for identity monitoring and restoration assistance.
- You are comfortable obtaining credit monitoring separately, or the specific Elite feature set meets your needs.
- You understand that Zander describes its reimbursement service as not insurance and are willing to review the terms for eligible expenses.
Choose Aura if
- You want credit monitoring and identity, financial-fraud, and digital-security features in one broader suite.
- You need a listed plan sized for a couple or family, including Aura’s stated adult, child, and device allowances.
- You value an insurance policy with stated limits, while understanding that payment depends on policy terms and eligible expenses.
For either provider, compare the price for your actual household, the credit and security features you will use, and the written conditions behind any restoration or reimbursement promise. Neither service should be treated as a guarantee that identity theft cannot happen; Zander itself says, “No company can prevent all identity theft, but Zander is here to help.” Zander’s public page
