If YouTube Music keeps adding songs after your playlist or album ends, check Autoplay. A YouTube Music Community answer from a Product Expert in 2022 reported that you can find its toggle at the bottom of the Up Next queue while an album or playlist is playing. The exact path may vary by app version or device.
How to check Autoplay in YouTube Music

Start playing an album or playlist.

Open Up Next to view the playback queue.

Scroll to the bottom of the queue and look for the Autoplay toggle.

Switch it off if you do not want playback to continue with additional songs after the selected queue ends.

This path comes from a 2022 YouTube Music Community response by a Product Expert, not a current official help article. The response also says the toggle may not be offered in the same way when playback starts from an individual song, so the reported steps may not match every current interface.

First identify what is going wrong

Extra songs start after an album or playlist ends: Check the queue’s Autoplay toggle first.

Playback starts when a car or Bluetooth device connects: This is a different behavior. The same community response points to a setting called Allow external devices to start playback. Its current location has not been confirmed in first-party help, and it should not be confused with queue Autoplay.

Songs play in an unexpected order or repeat: Check shuffle and repeat instead. YouTube Music Help documents them as separate playback controls: shuffle changes order, while repeat controls replay of a song, album, or playlist. The help page does not say these controls determine whether recommended songs are added after the queue.

Recommendations do not seem relevant: YouTube Music Help says recommendations and search results may draw on watched or liked content and artist subscriptions. History controls can change what influences recommendations, but that does not establish that personalization caused a particular playlist problem.

If the queue seems shorter than the playlist
A shorter-looking queue is not enough to identify Autoplay as the cause. The available guidance does not establish that Autoplay removes playlist tracks or explains why a queue might not show every song. Check the playlist itself in your Library and use the playlist interface to review or reorder its songs; YouTube Music Help also documents playlist editing and privacy management there.
