Yes. You can connect AirPods to a Samsung phone as a Bluetooth headset: enable Bluetooth, put your AirPods model into pairing mode, then select them in the phone’s Bluetooth device list. Apple says you can listen and talk through AirPods on a non-Apple device, but Siri is unavailable.
Pair AirPods with a Samsung phone
- Turn on Bluetooth on your Samsung phone. Open Settings and look under Connections for Bluetooth. Menu names may vary by Galaxy model and software version. Apple’s instructions for non-Apple devices are at Apple Support: Pair AirPods with a non-Apple device.
- Put your AirPods into pairing mode. Use the control for your specific model below; wait for the status light to flash white.
- Select your AirPods on the phone. When they appear in the available Bluetooth devices list, tap their name and follow any on-screen prompts.
Pairing controls by AirPods model
- AirPods 1, 2, or 3; AirPods Pro 1 or 2: Put the AirPods in their case and open the lid. Hold the setup button on the back for about five seconds, or until the status light flashes white.
- AirPods 4 or AirPods Pro 3: Open the case with the AirPods inside, then double-tap the front of the case until the status light flashes white.
- AirPods Max: Hold the listening mode button for about five seconds, or until the status light flashes white.
Apple’s English-language guide covers iOS 26 and later and lists these model-specific controls. If your AirPods model is newer or is not listed, check Apple’s latest instructions for its pairing control.
Use SmartThings as another pairing route
Samsung also documents pairing Bluetooth devices through SmartThings. Put the AirPods in pairing mode first, then use the app’s nearby-device scan:

- Open SmartThings.
- Tap Devices, then Add.
- Choose Scan nearby.
- Select the AirPods when they appear and follow the pairing prompts.
See Samsung Support: Connect Bluetooth devices to your phone through SmartThings. Samsung’s separate Device control panel requires Android 10 or later; that requirement does not change the standard Bluetooth pairing steps. SmartThings labels and route availability can vary by Galaxy model and software version.

What works when AirPods are connected to Samsung?
Apple documents AirPods on non-Apple devices as a Bluetooth headset for listening and speaking. Siri is not available. That establishes basic audio and microphone use, not full feature parity with an Apple device; the reviewed official guidance does not establish the availability of every model-specific feature on Samsung phones.

If your AirPods do not appear
- Confirm Bluetooth is on and the AirPods are in pairing mode; the status light should flash white.
- Check that you are using the pairing control for your exact AirPods model.
- Look again in the phone’s available Bluetooth devices list, or try SmartThings’ Scan nearby route.
- If the menu names differ, check the instructions for your Galaxy model and software version.
