To connect to Yale’s campus Wi-Fi, select YaleSecure in your device’s Wi-Fi settings and sign in with your Yale NetID and password. YaleSecure is intended for Yale faculty, staff, students, and visiting faculty; visitors without a Yale NetID may need YaleGuest or eduroam instead.
How do I connect to the YaleSecure Wi-Fi?
Yale Law School lists a wireless-capable device and Yale NetID as requirements for its self-service Wi-Fi. Its service listing specifies an IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n/ac-capable device and says the service is available at no cost, 24/7, for its stated audience. See Yale Law School’s wireless-network service details.
- Open your device’s Wi-Fi or wireless network settings.

Exact prompts vary by device and operating system. Yale’s visitor FAQ gives the following mobile examples; its Android steps are labeled for Android 7 or higher, so treat the screen details as examples rather than a guarantee of current menus.

Which Wi-Fi network should a visitor choose?
Choose based on your eligibility and the access you need. Yale’s visitor guidance distinguishes YaleSecure, YaleGuest, and eduroam; access is subject to Yale policy, and no visitor should assume eligibility automatically.
| Network or service | Who it is for | Access distinction |
|---|---|---|
| YaleSecure | People with Yale NetID credentials; Yale lists faculty, staff, students, and visiting faculty. | Yale’s documented connection flow uses Yale NetID authentication. Long-term visitors granted a Yale NetID are encouraged to use it. |
| YaleGuest | Short-term visitors. | Described by Yale as a public, limited-access network. Some programs and functions may not work on it. |
| eduroam | People whose home institution participates in eduroam. | Sign in with credentials from the home institution; check with that institution if unsure whether you qualify. |
| Yale VPN | People connecting to certain Yale resources from off campus. | Remote-access option for Yale secure websites or resources; it is not a Wi-Fi network. |

How do I connect to Yale resources via Yale VPN while off-campus?
For some Yale secure websites and resources, Yale visitor guidance says off-campus access may require the Cisco AnyConnect VPN client together with multifactor authentication. Follow Yale’s current setup and sign-in instructions for your account and device. VPN access is for reaching Yale resources remotely; it is not required just to use ordinary campus Wi-Fi while physically on campus.
