Verdict: The Yale Luna Pro+ is a capable premium mortise lock with fingerprint, PIN, RFID, app, key and face access. Its face scanner is the least dependable entry method in independent testing, while the ₹99,908 India price (MRP ₹1,31,099) is difficult to justify unless hands-free face entry is your priority. Remote access and voice-assistant support also require the separately sold Yale Connect Plus Hub 2.
What the Yale Luna Pro+ is
The Luna Pro+ is a residential mortise smart lock designed for timber doors. Depending on the regional bundle and generation, it supports face recognition, fingerprint, PIN, RFID card, Yale Home app control and a mechanical-key override. The catalogue model uses a 60 mm backset and fits timber doors 35–100 mm thick.
That makes it a replacement for a conventional mortise lock rather than a simple add-on deadbolt. Door preparation, mortise dimensions and alignment therefore matter before purchase.

Price and the real cost of ownership
Digit.in listed the tested lock at ₹99,908 in India against an MRP of ₹1,31,099, with installation included in that listing. Prices and bundles vary by country and product generation, so buyers should verify the package for their market.

| Item | Price or allowance | Qualification |
|---|---|---|
| Yale Luna Pro+ | ₹99,908 | Digit.in listing, India, published 14 October 2026; installation listed as included |
| Listed MRP | ₹1,31,099 | Digit.in listing, India, 2026 |
| Yale Connect Plus Hub 2 | ₹6,891 | Separately listed bridge price in Digit.in’s 2026 review |
| Godrej Advantis GSL D1 | From ₹18,499 | Lower-cost Indian comparison cited by Digit.in in 2026 |
Adding the hub brings the listed Luna Pro+ hardware total to ₹106,799 before any regional price changes or extra installation work. Cheaper locks can provide fingerprint, keypad, RFID, mobile-app and key access without charging this premium, so the financial case rests mainly on whether you specifically want face entry.
Access methods: broad choice, uneven reliability
The review tested eight access methods during a month of use. The reviewer found the methods other than face recognition fast and reported no false positives. Those observations come from hands-on use, not a controlled laboratory test.
- Face recognition: hands-free entry when it works.
- Fingerprint: a quick biometric alternative that does not require line of sight.
- PIN: useful when carrying a phone or when biometric access is unsuitable.
- RFID card: convenient for residents who prefer a physical credential.
- Yale Home app: local control through the lock’s supported connection.
- Phone NFC: included among the review’s tested phone-based methods.
- Mechanical key: a backup when electronic access is unavailable.
The lock supports up to 100 facial credentials, 50 fingerprints, 100 PIN codes and 100 cards according to the Yale/ASSA ABLOY catalogue.

Face recognition is the weak link
Yale claims face recognition in under 1.2 seconds, at a distance of 40–100 cm and a user height of 120–190 cm. In the independent review, recognition worked about 95% of the time for the reviewer when it recognized him, but delays were noticeable and occurred especially when his hands were full. The reviewer wrote that, after a month, face scanning was the weakest way to get in.
There is also a logging limitation: face entries never appeared in the Yale Home app activity stream during the review. If an auditable access history is important, fingerprint, PIN or card use may be easier to track, although the review did not establish that every other method is logged identically in every firmware version.
Installation and door-fit requirements
On a wooden test fixture, installation took 30–40 minutes, followed by about 20 minutes for Yale Home configuration. A plank is not a complete household installation test: it does not reproduce a real doorframe, alignment tolerances or the behavior of a swinging door. Existing mortise dimensions and latch alignment can make an on-site job more involved.

- Sleek 7-in-1 USB-C Hub: Features an HDMI port, two USB-A 3.0 ports, and a USB-C data port, each providing 5Gbps transfer speeds. It also includes a USB-C PD input port for charging up to 100W and dual SD and TF card slots, all in a compact design.
- Flawless 4K@60Hz Video with HDMI: Delivers exceptional clarity and smoothness with its 4K@60Hz HDMI port, making it ideal for high-definition presentations and entertainment. (Note: Only the HDMI port supports video projection; the USB-C port is for data transfer only.)
- Double Up on Efficiency: The two USB-A 3.0 ports and a USB-C port support a fast 5Gbps data rate, significantly boosting your transfer speeds and improving productivity.
- Fast and Reliable 85W Charging: Offers high-capacity, speedy charging for laptops up to 85W, so you spend less time tethered to an outlet and more time being productive.

Check these specifications before ordering:
- Timber door construction
- Door thickness between 35 and 100 mm for the catalogue model
- 60 mm mortise backset
- Interior escutcheon protected from weather exposure
For a door outside those limits, have the mortise and frame assessed before buying rather than assuming an adapter will solve the mismatch.
Remote control and smart-home integration
Bluetooth control is built into the lock or its module configuration for local operation. Control from outside Bluetooth range requires the Yale Connect Plus Hub 2, sold separately at the ₹6,891 price listed in the review. The Yale/ASSA ABLOY catalogue also states that the hub is required for Works with Amazon Alexa and Google Home functionality.
This creates a two-part purchase for anyone expecting remote unlocking, notifications or voice control: the lock itself and the bridge. Without the hub, the Luna Pro+ should be treated as a locally controlled smart lock rather than a fully cloud-connected one.

- Please Note: To reach 10Gbps speed, keep the cable under 3.3 ft. For USB A Male to USB C adapters, try flipping the USB C connector. USB C Male to USB A adapters support bidirectional 10Gbps transfer within 3.3 ft
Battery, emergency access and weather limits
The catalogue specifies a removable rechargeable lithium-ion battery, USB-C emergency backup and a low-battery warning. Battery life is approximately 9–12 months depending on daily use, so actual runtime will vary with traffic and features such as repeated biometric scans.
The lock carries an IP52 rating. That means limited dust protection and protection from vertically dripping water when tilted up to 15 degrees; it is not protection against heavy rain or water jets. Yale warns against installations where the interior escutcheon is exposed to outside elements, including an outdoor gate.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesSecurity and everyday behavior
The reviewer triggered the intruder alarm by manipulating the locked mechanism. A valid unlock method disabled the alarm. Automatic locking and anti-panic exit were also reported to work during testing.
Best Value
- 5-in-1 Connectivity: Equipped with a 4K HDMI port, a 5 Gbps USB-C data port, two 5 Gbps USB-A ports, and a USB C 100W PD-IN port. Note: The USB C 100W PD-IN port supports only charging and does not support data transfer devices such as headphones or speakers.
- Powerful Pass-Through Charging: Supports up to 85W pass-through charging so you can power up your laptop while you use the hub. Note: Pass-through charging requires a charger (not included). Note: To achieve full power for iPad, we recommend using a 45W wall charger.
- Transfer Files in Seconds: Move files to and from your laptop at speeds of up to 5 Gbps via the USB-C and USB-A data ports. Note: The USB C 5Gbps Data port does not support video output.
- HD Display: Connect to the HDMI port to stream or mirror content to an external monitor in resolutions of up to 4K@30Hz. Note: The USB-C ports do not support video output.
- What You Get: Anker 332 USB-C Hub (5-in-1), welcome guide, our worry-free 18-month warranty, and friendly customer service.
Those are useful practical safeguards, but the review’s month-long use does not substitute for a formal security certification or a long-term reliability study. Treat the alarm as an additional deterrent, not as a replacement for a properly fitted door, frame and strike.
Who should buy it?
Choose the Luna Pro+ if:
- You specifically want hands-free face entry and accept that it may occasionally fail or delay.
- Your timber door fits the 35–100 mm thickness range and 60 mm backset.
- You value multiple fallback credentials, rechargeable power and a mechanical override.
- You are prepared to buy the hub for remote access or voice assistants.
Look elsewhere if:
- Fingerprint, PIN, RFID, app and key access already meet your needs.
- You need consistently dependable entry while carrying groceries or other items.
- Your door is exposed to rain, has non-standard mortise dimensions or is not timber.
- Your budget is closer to the ₹18,499 starting price cited for the Godrej Advantis GSL D1 than to ₹100,000.
Bottom line
The Yale Luna Pro+ delivers a broad, well-equipped access system and solid supporting features, but its headline feature is also its least convincing one. At the India price tested in October 2026, it is a specialist luxury purchase: worthwhile for buyers who genuinely want face-based, hands-free entry and can budget for the hub, but poor value if conventional fingerprint, PIN, RFID, app and key access are sufficient.
