Neither Xiaomi’s Xring O3 nor Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 can be called the universal winner from the published figures available. Reported tests show the O3 scoring strongly in some multi-core and graphics results, while the Snapdragon may lead in some single-core results. The numbers come from different devices and test conditions, however, so they are indicators—not a controlled head-to-head verdict.
What the benchmark scores show
Benchmark results depend on the tested device, software, cooling, power limits, performance mode and benchmark version. The following O3 results are useful reference points, but they should not be treated as guaranteed scores for every device using the chip.

These figures are not directly interchangeable: Geekbench versions and device configurations differ. In particular, the Xiaomi-attributed 6.5 results should not be presented as if Notebookcheck independently measured them.
Single-core performance
Single-core scores can help describe performance in lightly threaded or latency-sensitive tasks, but they do not predict every real-world workload. The O3’s reported results vary substantially by device and mode. A fair comparison with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 requires scores from the same benchmark version and comparable test conditions.

Multi-core performance
Multi-core results can favor workloads that use several cores at once. O3’s reported Geekbench figures are strong, but differences in core counts, thermal design, power limits and cooling affect the result. The available figures do not establish a controlled device-to-device comparison against Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5.
Graphics and sustained performance
Aggregated comparison data suggests the O3 can perform strongly in some graphics tests, but a peak graphics score is not a measure of sustained gaming performance. The available reports do not provide a controlled long-session test comparing heat, frame rates or throttling between devices using the two chips.

Notebookcheck lists the Xring O3 as a 10-core processor with this CPU arrangement and reported platform specifications. These are reported specifications rather than a complete official O3 spec sheet.

Memory support describes what the chip platform is reported to support; it does not prove that a particular phone or tablet uses that memory type or configuration. The same distinction applies to other platform capabilities: device makers determine implementation, firmware and power settings.

What is established about Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5
Xiaomi investor-relations material identifies the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Mobile Platform as debuting in the Xiaomi 17 Series. Xiaomi investor relations confirms that device association. A comparison aggregator lists figures for both processors, but aggregated results mix devices and test contexts and should be treated as indicative, not as a controlled comparison. The available evidence does not support filling out a like-for-like Snapdragon specification table or declaring a winner from one score. For a meaningful comparison, use the same benchmark version, identify the tested device and mode, and account for cooling and power behavior.

How to interpret the comparison when choosing a device
- For lightly threaded work: look at same-version single-core tests, while treating them as one performance indicator rather than a guarantee of responsiveness.
- For heavily threaded work: compare multi-core results from similar device conditions and consider sustained cooling and power limits.
- For gaming: prioritize device-specific sustained gaming tests and thermal behavior over peak GPU benchmark scores.
- For memory and platform features: distinguish reported chip support from the configuration actually used by the device.
- For any quoted score: include benchmark version, device, mode and source so readers can see what was tested.

The evidence supports a nuanced comparison, not a universal ranking: Xring O3 has strong reported multi-core and graphics results, while some single-core comparisons may favor Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5.
