Choose XREAL One Pro if you want the wider field of view, higher stated perceived brightness, electrochromic tint control, and glasses-powered 3DoF spatial display. Choose Rokid Max 2 if lower weight, built-in myopia adjustment, or the option to reach 1920×1200 through Rokid Station 2 matters more.
The requested name Xreal One Pro+ is ambiguous: XREAL identifies One Pro and 1 Pro+ as separate products. This comparison uses XREAL One Pro, the model with a complete directly comparable specification and compatibility record. Check the model name before buying.

The figures are manufacturer specifications, and brightness is reported as perceived brightness rather than a laboratory measurement under a shared test setup. They establish the products’ published capabilities, not a guarantee that every source device, cable, or viewing environment will deliver the same result.
Display quality: field of view, brightness, resolution, and motion
Field of view and perceived brightness
XREAL One Pro has the wider published field of view. That extra width makes a virtual screen feel more expansive and reduces the sense of looking through a narrow window, particularly for games, spreadsheets, and large desktop layouts. Rokid Max 2 uses a narrower approximately 50° field of view, which can still provide a large personal screen but leaves more of the surrounding frame outside the image.

- REAL 3D – Turn everything you watch into an immersive 3D experience: REAL 3D Now Available on All One Series Glasses, instantly transforming all your content—from games and movies to apps and photos—into true 3D with a single switch. Experience richer depth and lifelike visuals across everything you watch or play.
- 57°FOV, 171'' Spatial Screen – More Immersive Visual Experience: Experience a virtual screen starting at 171 inches wide, filling your view with blockbuster visuals, thanks to XREAL’s advanced optics and industry-leading 57° FOV. Powered by Sony’s 0.55' Micro-OLED display technology and a smooth 120Hz refresh rate, get swept into your games or movies with immersion that rivals traditional home theaters—without the size, setup, or space concerns.
XREAL also publishes the higher perceived-brightness figure. Its product page attributes the improved display design to reduced outside-light interference and fewer front-surface reflections. Treat that as a product claim rather than a universal guarantee: room lighting, the way the glasses sit on your face, and the source device’s output all affect perceived contrast. Rokid’s stated brightness is lower, so users who frequently view content in bright rooms should give the XREAL design an advantage on paper.
Resolution and refresh rate
Both glasses default to 1920×1080, so ordinary USB-C video use does not give XREAL a resolution advantage. Rokid Max 2 has a distinct optional path: when paired with Rokid Station 2, Rokid documents output up to 1920×1200. The additional vertical pixels can help with documents, code, and desktop interfaces, but the higher mode depends on that companion device and is not the default direct-connection mode.
Each model publishes a maximum refresh rate of 120 Hz. A high refresh setting can make scrolling and supported games look smoother, but the source device, operating system, cable, and application must all negotiate that mode. If a computer offers only 60 Hz, the glasses cannot create 120 Hz independently.

XREAL identifies a Sony 0.55-inch Micro-OLED panel and publishes 3 ms M2P latency. That specification is useful for readers sensitive to cursor lag or fast game motion. Rokid’s cited Max 2 specification lists FHD resolution, field of view, brightness, refresh rate, weight, and diopter adjustment but does not state a comparable latency figure, so no paper advantage can be assigned on latency.

What the numbers mean for clarity
Neither product should be called universally clearest from resolution alone: both provide 1920×1080 by default, while Rokid’s 1920×1200 mode requires Station 2. XREAL’s wider image and higher perceived-brightness specification favor immersion and legibility in challenging light. Rokid’s optional extra vertical resolution favors desktop work when the companion-device path is acceptable. Fit and optical alignment remain decisive; an incorrectly positioned display can look blurred or clipped regardless of its headline specifications.
Spatial viewing and transparency
XREAL’s glasses-powered 3DoF
XREAL One Pro processes three-degrees-of-freedom spatial positioning in the glasses. You can anchor a large virtual screen so it stays in place when you move your head instead of having the image follow every small movement. Because the capability is built into the glasses, it does not require an additional spatial puck for this basic anchored-screen experience.
That design is valuable for watching a film on a virtual display, working with a fixed monitor-sized canvas, or playing a game while keeping the image stable. It does not turn the glasses into a complete room-scale mixed-reality system; the documented feature is a 3DoF spatial display, not six-degrees-of-freedom environmental tracking.
Electrochromic dimming
XREAL provides three electrochromic transparency modes. You can change how much of the outside scene is visible through the lenses, choosing a clearer view for awareness of your surroundings or a darker setting for stronger image contrast. The reviewed official Rokid Max 2 specifications do not document an equivalent electrochromic dimming system, so readers who want electronic tint control should favor XREAL.

Comfort, fit, and prescription needs
Weight and long-session comfort
Rokid Max 2 is approximately 75 g, while XREAL One Pro is 87 g. The published difference is about 12 g in Rokid’s favor. That can matter during a long film or gaming session, but weight is only one part of comfort. Nose-pad pressure, temple balance, cable direction, lens alignment, and whether your eyes can reach a sharp focus often matter more than a small change on the scale.
Interpupillary distance on XREAL
XREAL sells One Pro in two physical IPD ranges: 57–66 mm and 66–75 mm. XREAL says those sizes cover 95% of consumers and are intended to reduce blur and cut-off edges caused by a mismatch between your pupils and the optical centers. Measure or confirm your IPD before ordering; choosing the wrong range can make a technically sharp display look soft at the edges.
Built-in myopia adjustment on Rokid
Rokid Max 2 includes real-time adjustment from 0.00D to -6.00D. Users whose short-sighted prescription falls within that range may be able to focus the display without separate prescription inserts. The dial does not correct every vision condition, and it does not replace an eye examination. Astigmatism, differing prescriptions between eyes, or a value outside the stated range may still require custom lenses.

Prescription-lens compatibility
Prescription support is model-specific. XREAL states that One Pro prescription lenses differ from earlier XREAL designs, so do not assume an insert made for a previous model will fit. Confirm the exact One Pro lens accessory and your prescription details before purchase. Rokid’s diopter range can reduce the need for inserts for some myopic users, but the manufacturer specifications reviewed here do not establish coverage for every prescription type.

Compatibility: phones, computers, handhelds, and consoles
The common requirement
These are not independent wireless displays. Direct use depends on a source that can send video over USB-C DisplayPort. XREAL additionally specifies 5V/1A power from the device interface. A USB-C socket that supports charging or data only will not automatically drive either pair of glasses. Check the source’s technical specifications for DisplayPort Alt Mode or equivalent display output before buying.
XREAL One Pro source coverage
XREAL’s compatibility guide covers USB-C iPhone models, Android phones, iPad and Android tablets, Windows and Mac computers, handheld gaming devices, Steam Deck, Nintendo Switch, Xbox, and PlayStation. The exact experience depends on the port and operating system on each model rather than on the product category alone.
HDMI-only equipment needs an HDMI-to-USB-C adapter that converts the video signal for the glasses. Nintendo Switch use requires an XREAL Hub. Those are additional components to plan for; the glasses alone do not turn an HDMI port or a Switch dock into a USB-C DisplayPort source.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsRokid Max 2 source coverage
Rokid specifically lists MacBook, Windows PC, iPhone 15, Steam Deck, PS5, and Nintendo Switch as connection examples. For a direct connection, Rokid requires a USB-C 3.1 interface with display output. On Windows, Rokid says the glasses can appear as an expansion screen, allowing a separate desktop rather than only mirroring the built-in monitor.
Best Value
- YOUR PRIVATE 147” BIG SCREEN, ANYWHERE — Plug the a01+ into your phone, tablet, handheld, or laptop and a giant 147” screen appears in front of you—for movies, gaming, or getting work done on the couch, on a flight, or in bed. A true portable display you wear, in a soda-can-sized 210g case that drops in your pocket.
- ALWAYS RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU — The screen follows your view with smooth, stabilized tracking and stays centered as you look around—nothing to anchor or set up, and no drift to reset. Press play and your big screen is simply there.
- 62G — LIGHT ENOUGH TO FORGET — At just 62g, with three nose-pad sizes and flexible temples, the a01+ stays comfortable through a long movie or flight, even lying down.
- LOOKS LIKE SUNGLASSES, NOT A GADGET — A slim, sunglasses-style frame with a signature semi-transparent chassis and neon logo—light and low-profile enough to actually wear out.
- WORKS WITH YOUR USB-C GEAR — No Battery to Charge — Connects and powers over a single USB-C DisplayPort cable: iPhone 15/16/17, iPad, DP-capable Android phones, Steam Deck, ROG Ally, Mac and PC. Nintendo Switch/Switch 2 and older (Lightning) iPhones need an adapter. For long phone sessions, add the XREAL Hub to charge and watch at once.
Rokid Max 2 can also be paired with Rokid Station 2. The documented reason to consider Station 2 in this comparison is the 1920×1200 output path; it is a companion-device choice, not a claim that every source will automatically run at that resolution.

Set up XREAL One Pro with a USB-C device
- Confirm that the phone, tablet, computer, or handheld supports USB-C DisplayPort video output and can provide the specified 5V/1A power.
- Use a USB-C cable rated for video, connect the glasses directly to the source, and wait for the operating system to detect the external display.
- Open the source’s display settings and select mirror or extended desktop mode. On a computer, choose the desired resolution and refresh rate that the source offers.
- Put on the glasses, select the physical IPD size that matches your measurement, and choose one of the three transparency modes for the room lighting.
- For a spatial large-screen view, use the glasses’ 3DoF controls. No separate spatial puck is required for that glasses-powered function.
Set up XREAL with HDMI equipment or Switch
- Identify whether the source outputs HDMI rather than USB-C DisplayPort.
- Add an HDMI-to-USB-C adapter designed for display glasses and follow the adapter’s power and signal instructions.
- For Nintendo Switch, use an XREAL Hub rather than assuming a generic USB-C cable will provide the required video and power path.
- Connect the source, adapter or hub, and glasses in the order specified by the accessory maker, then select the console’s display mode.
Set up Rokid Max 2 directly
- Verify that the USB-C port is USB-C 3.1 or later with DisplayPort output; a charging-only port will not work.
- Connect the glasses to the MacBook, Windows PC, iPhone 15, Steam Deck, PS5 setup, or Switch configuration supported by the source’s own documentation.
- On Windows, open display settings and choose duplicate or extend. Select extend when you want the glasses to act as a second monitor.
- Adjust the built-in diopter controls gradually from 0.00D toward your prescription, stopping when text is sharp. Stay within the documented 0.00D to -6.00D range.
- If you need the documented 1920×1200 mode, connect through Rokid Station 2 and then select the available resolution in the source settings.
System cost and accessory planning
The XREAL US Shop listed One Pro at $599 when accessed. That is a time-sensitive retail listing, not a guaranteed current price or a bundled-system total. The supplied Rokid specification record does not state a Max 2 retail price, so a fair price comparison requires checking the current regional listing yourself.
| Potential item | XREAL One Pro | Rokid Max 2 |
|---|---|---|
| Glasses | $599 listed on the accessed XREAL US Shop page; verify current price | Price not stated |
| Spatial or companion device | Not required for the glasses-powered 3DoF feature | Rokid Station 2 is the documented route to 1920×1200; price not stated |
| Console or HDMI accessory | HDMI-to-USB-C adapter for HDMI sources; XREAL Hub for Nintendo Switch | Direct USB-C DisplayPort connection is the stated path; accessory needs vary by source |
| Prescription solution | Model-specific One Pro lenses may be needed | Built-in 0.00D to -6.00D adjustment may cover some myopic users |
Before comparing checkout totals, list your actual source devices, whether any use HDMI, whether you need Switch support, and whether your prescription fits Rokid’s adjustment range. Those requirements can change the less expensive system even when the glasses’ sticker prices look close.

Which model fits your use case?
Choose XREAL One Pro when immersion and control come first
- You want the widest published field of view and the higher stated perceived brightness.
- You need an anchored large screen without adding a separate spatial puck.
- You want three electronic transparency levels for changing room light.
- Your IPD falls within one of the two 57–75 mm ranges and you are willing to verify the correct size.
- You use a broad mix of phones, tablets, computers, handhelds, and consoles and can provide USB-C DisplayPort output or the required adapter.
Choose Rokid Max 2 when fit flexibility and weight matter most
- You prefer the lighter published weight for long sessions.
- Your myopia falls within the built-in 0.00D to -6.00D adjustment and you want to avoid prescription inserts.
- You value the option of 1920×1200 through Rokid Station 2 for desktop work.
- Your main sources match Rokid’s listed examples and provide USB-C 3.1 DisplayPort output.
When neither headline advantage decides it
If both displays will be used mainly at 1920×1080, compare the practical connection path and fit first. Confirm the exact USB-C port, power capability, required hub or adapter, IPD or diopter needs, and the amount of time you expect to wear the glasses continuously. Those checks are more predictive of satisfaction than a small difference in a published brightness or weight figure.
Quick Recap
Common problems and fixes
The glasses show no image
- Recheck that the source port supports DisplayPort video, not just charging or USB data.
- For XREAL, verify the source can provide the specified 5V/1A power.
- Try a known video-capable USB-C cable and remove docks or hubs temporarily to isolate the signal path.
- If the source is HDMI, use a proper HDMI-to-USB-C display adapter rather than a passive cable.
- For Nintendo Switch with XREAL, confirm that the XREAL Hub is in the connection chain.
The image is blurry or the edges are cut off
- On XREAL, confirm that your measured IPD matches the selected 57–66 mm or 66–75 mm frame.
- On Rokid, adjust the diopter slowly and independently for the clearest text; do not exceed the stated range.
- Reposition the nose bridge and temples so the lenses sit level with your eyes.
- Check whether prescription inserts are model-specific and correctly seated.
The requested resolution or refresh rate is unavailable
- Check the operating system’s external-display menu after the glasses are connected.
- Use a source, cable, and adapter that support the desired bandwidth.
- Remember that Rokid’s 1920×1200 figure requires Station 2, while the default direct mode is 1920×1080.
- Lowering refresh rate can make a marginal connection stable; increase it only after the display remains reliable.
The glasses become uncomfortable
- Reduce continuous session length and reposition the frame to distribute pressure across the nose and ears.
- Use the correct XREAL IPD size or tune Rokid’s diopter before assuming the panel is defective.
- For users near the limits of Rokid’s diopter range or with astigmatism, obtain an appropriate prescription solution instead of forcing the dial.
