Yes—but only in AnTuTu’s processor-usage share, not in a head-to-head speed test. In AnTuTu’s Q3 2026 China Android dataset, Xiaomi XRING accounted for 1.2% of recorded processors, while Samsung accounted for 0.5%. That puts XRING third and Samsung fourth, a 0.7-percentage-point lead. The figures show relative presence in AnTuTu’s China data; they do not prove that an XRING chip universally outperforms Samsung Exynos silicon.

What the AnTuTu ranking actually measures

The ranking is a market-share table derived from Android devices represented in AnTuTu’s China dataset for the third quarter of 2026. It measures how often each processor supplier appears in that dataset, rather than the maximum benchmark score of an individual chip.

Processor supplier Q3 2026 China Android share Position
Qualcomm 68.9% First
MediaTek 28.9% Second
Xiaomi XRING (Xuanjie in China) 1.2% Third
Samsung 0.5% Fourth

Qualcomm and MediaTek together represent 97.8% of the reported share. XRING’s 1.2% is therefore a small slice of the overall market, but it is still more than double Samsung’s 0.5% in this specific measurement.

Why third place is notable for Xiaomi

Qualcomm and MediaTek sell chips to many phone manufacturers. Xiaomi primarily uses XRING in its own hardware instead of supplying a broad roster of brands. A 1.2% share achieved from that narrower deployment footprint indicates that enough Xiaomi devices appeared in the China AnTuTu sample to move XRING ahead of Samsung’s processor share.

XRING O3 is the flagship chip behind the attention

The chip associated with Xiaomi’s latest performance claims is XRING O3, known as Xuanjie in China. Cinco Días reports a Xiaomi-designed processor built on TSMC’s 3-nanometre process with 24 billion transistors. Xiaomi intended it for the Xiaomi 18 Fold and Xiaomi Pad 9 Pro Max, which reports said would be presented in China in September 2026.

Devices identified for XRING O3

  • Xiaomi 18 Fold: a foldable device identified for the China launch.
  • Xiaomi Pad 9 Pro Max: a tablet identified for the same China presentation.

Gizmochina reported that Xiaomi had not announced an international release for either product. Availability outside China therefore remains unconfirmed in the cited reporting.

What Xiaomi claims about XRING O3 performance

On 24 August 2026, Xiaomi claimed that XRING O3 reached 5.22 million points in AnTuTu. Cinco Días relayed that figure as a Xiaomi claim, not as an independently verified result. The same reporting attributed several other specifications or company comparisons to Xiaomi:

  • CPU: a claimed 60% improvement over XRING O1.
  • GPU: a claimed 85% performance improvement over the prior generation.
  • NPU: a reported maximum of 200 TOPS.

These claims describe XRING O3’s intended design and Xiaomi’s own comparison points. They do not establish sustained performance under controlled testing against a particular Exynos model, because the cited reports provide no such independent, chip-to-chip test.

Why the share result cannot answer “Is XRING faster than Exynos?”

Different metrics

The 1.2% and 0.5% values are processor-share percentages. A benchmark score is a performance result from a device running a test. A processor can have a small share and still be fast, or a large share because it is used in many products rather than because it is the fastest option.

Different geographies

The share figures cover AnTuTu’s China Android data. AnTuTu’s global ranking page states that its global list excludes the Chinese market. Its displayed scores are monthly averages of valid device data, not the highest score recorded for a device. China-only share data and global benchmark averages should not be combined as if they were one ranking.

Different generations and implementations

“Exynos” covers multiple Samsung chip generations and phone designs. XRING O3 is a specific generation intended for specific Xiaomi products. A fair comparison would need named chips, matching device classes, software versions, cooling systems, power limits and repeated tests.

Sustained performance is still an open question

Peak AnTuTu results do not show how a device behaves after repeated runs, during gaming or under heat. The cited coverage does not provide independently measured thermal behavior, battery impact or long-duration performance for XRING O3.

How to interpret the headline

  1. Read “beats” as “has a higher recorded share in AnTuTu’s Q3 2026 China table.”
  2. Do not convert the 0.7-point share gap into a performance percentage.
  3. Treat the 5.22-million XRING O3 result and the CPU, GPU and NPU figures as Xiaomi-attributed claims unless independent testing is published.
  4. Check the exact Exynos model before making any speed comparison.
  5. Confirm China-market availability and network support before considering either announced XRING O3 device.

Availability outside China

The reporting identifies the Xiaomi 18 Fold and Xiaomi Pad 9 Pro Max as China launches planned for September 2026. It also says no international release had been announced. That means buyers in other regions should not assume an official launch, local warranty, compatible cellular bands or access to the same software versions.
