What is the price difference in India?
At the time the 91mobiles comparison listing was accessed, it displayed ₹31,999 for the Redmi Note 15 Pro and ₹36,490 for the realme 16—a ₹4,491 difference, with the Redmi lower in that listing. This is a dated listing snapshot, not a guaranteed current price or a verified like-for-like offer.

Which phone has the better display?
The Redmi has the larger panel and more pixels: 6.83 inches at 2772 × 1280, compared with the realme’s 6.57 inches at 2372 × 1080. Both manufacturers specify refresh rates up to 120Hz. The Redmi’s screen is the more obvious fit if you want a larger viewing area for reading or video, while the smaller realme display may suit someone who prefers a more compact phone.

Those figures do not establish which screen looks better in every situation. The available specifications do not provide a matched assessment of brightness, colour accuracy or outdoor readability.
Which camera setup suits your use?
The hardware emphasis differs. Xiaomi lists a 200MP main camera with optical image stabilisation (OIS) and an 8MP ultra-wide camera. realme lists a 50MP main camera and 2MP monochrome rear camera. For selfies, realme lists a 50MP front camera, compared with Xiaomi’s 20MP.

Megapixel counts alone cannot establish photo quality: image processing, lens performance and shooting conditions matter too. No common independent camera test of these exact India models is established here, so the specifications point to different priorities rather than a proven overall camera winner. realme lists a 7,000mAh typical battery (6,830mAh rated) and 60W wired charging. Xiaomi lists a 6,580mAh typical battery and 45W charging. On those published figures, realme has the larger stated capacity and higher charging power.

Capacity is not a controlled battery-life comparison, and charging wattage does not tell you how long a full charge takes. No matched endurance or charging-time test of both exact India variants is established here. realme also says its lab found at least 80% battery capacity retention after 1,600 full charge cycles, which it equates to approximately six years; that is a manufacturer lab claim, not independently verified lifespan evidence. realme lists its phone at about 183g, while Xiaomi lists the Redmi at 210g. The realme is also shorter and narrower on the published dimensions, though it is slightly thicker. If reducing weight and overall footprint is a priority, the realme has the advantage on these figures; the Redmi pairs its larger screen with a larger, heavier body. Processor and benchmark figures
The phones use different MediaTek processors: the Dimensity 7400-Ultra in the Redmi and Dimensity 6400 Turbo in the realme. 91mobiles reports Geekbench multi-core scores of 2,938 for the Redmi and 2,068 for the realme, but the page does not establish matched test conditions. Treat these as third-party-reported results, not a reliable prediction of how every buyer’s apps, games or day-to-day use will perform. Water and dust resistance
Xiaomi lists IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K ratings and describes testing under defined laboratory conditions. It warns against beach or pool use and says protection can deteriorate. realme advertises the same four ratings on its product page. Which should you buy?
- Choose the Redmi Note 15 Pro 5G if you value a larger, higher-resolution display or want the published 200MP OIS main-camera and ultra-wide combination. Its listed software support—4 years of OS and 6 years of security updates—is another consideration.
- Choose the realme 16 5G if you prefer a lighter, smaller-bodied phone and put more weight on its listed battery capacity, 60W charging or 50MP front camera.
- Compare live offers before deciding if price is the deciding factor. The displayed prices vary, and the available listings do not prove that they represent equivalent variants or seller terms.
These are choices based on published specifications and claims, not a declaration that one phone is better in measured camera quality, battery life, charging time or sustained performance. realme also advertises “72-Month Flunency Protection”: its product page says the 8GB+256GB version passed 72 months of smoothness testing in realme labs and the 8GB+128GB version passed 60 months.
