The Xiaomi 15 is a compact Android flagship with a bright, high-refresh display, a Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, three 50MP rear cameras, and a relatively large battery for its size. It is a strong option if you want flagship hardware in a smaller phone, but its appeal depends on whether you like Xiaomi’s software and can accept some camera and sustained-performance trade-offs.
What the Xiaomi 15 offers
Xiaomi’s global product page lists a 6.36-inch-class AMOLED display with adaptive 1–120Hz refresh, a Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, and a 32MP front camera. The rear array consists of three 50MP cameras: a Light Fusion 900 main camera with optical image stabilization (OIS), a 60mm floating telephoto with OIS and 10cm macro capability, and an ultrawide camera. These specifications establish a versatile setup on paper, but image quality varies by lens and shooting conditions.
The phone’s compact dimensions are central to its appeal: it targets people who want a flagship rather than a budget device, without moving to a much larger body. The trade-off is that compactness alone does not guarantee the best fit; compare the phone in person if grip, weight, or one-handed use is a priority.
How good are the cameras?
Main camera
In Tom’s Guide’s specific comparison with the Google Pixel 9 Pro, the Xiaomi 15’s main-camera image was described as cooler in tone, crisper, and more true-to-life in the scene reviewed. That is one controlled comparison, not proof that Xiaomi will win in every scene or against every phone.

Telephoto and macro
The 60mm telephoto includes OIS and supports macro photography at a stated 10cm distance, giving the camera system a dedicated option for closer subjects as well as zoomed framing. The specification alone does not establish how consistently it performs across lighting conditions.
Ultrawide
The ultrawide is the clearest camera caveat. Android Authority characterized it as mediocre, while Tom’s Guide found both phones’ ultrawide images darker than the scene warranted in its comparison. If ultrawide photos are a frequent part of your routine, inspect sample images from more than one scene before choosing the phone.

91mobiles describes the Leica-branded camera system as reliable overall but flags occasional camera-related issues. Taken together, the available reviews support treating the Xiaomi 15 as a capable multi-camera phone with unevenness to consider—not as a guaranteed top performer across all three rear cameras.
Battery life and charging
Xiaomi lists a 5,240mAh typical battery and claims up to 25 hours of video playback. Xiaomi identifies that playback figure as an internal-lab result and says actual results may vary. It also advertises 90W wired and 50W wireless charging, with the maximum rates requiring a Xiaomi 90W wired charger and a Xiaomi wireless charging set rated at equal power or above, respectively. These are manufacturer specifications and conditions, not independent estimates of everyday charging speed.

In a separate test, 91mobiles reported 13 hours and 44 minutes from 100% to 20% in its PCMark battery test in 2025. This publication-specific test result is not a screen-on-time guarantee for typical use. It also measures a different workload from Xiaomi’s video-playback claim, so the two figures should not be compared directly.
Performance, heat, and software
The Snapdragon 8 Elite gives the Xiaomi 15 flagship-class hardware, but peak specifications do not tell the whole story under sustained heavy use. Android Authority raised heat concerns under stress, and 91mobiles noted performance throttling. Those caveats matter most if you expect long, demanding gaming sessions or other workloads that keep the processor busy; the available findings do not establish that ordinary use will produce the same behavior.

Software is a more subjective drawback. Android Authority described the software experience as messy. Xiaomi’s HyperOS features, apps, and services can vary by region, software version, and model, according to Xiaomi. Android Authority states that the Xiaomi 15 receives four major OS updates and six years of security patches; check Xiaomi’s current support information for your country and exact variant before relying on a region-specific end date.
