For most buyers, the XGIMI MoGo 4 is the better all-around portable projector. Its manufacturer lists 450 ISO lumens, two 6W Harman/Kardon speakers, a larger battery, and a 40–200-inch image range. The Anker Nebula Capsule 3 is the easier projector to carry at 0.85 kg and has stronger contrast in RTINGS’ comparison, making it appealing for very dark rooms and lightweight travel.
These are both 1080p DLP projectors with Google TV and built-in Netflix, but neither should be treated as a bright-room television. The Capsule 3 in particular needs a very dark environment to look its best, while the MoGo 4’s extra brightness gives it more flexibility in a dimly lit room.
How the standard models differ
The comparison below covers the standard MoGo 4 and standard Nebula Capsule 3, not separate laser variants. Manufacturer specifications are presented as claims; they are not a controlled, same-condition laboratory test.

|---|---|---|---|
| Resolution and display technology | 1080p (1,920 × 1,080) DLP | 1080p (1,920 × 1,080) DLP | Both can show a Full HD image; neither standard model is 4K. |
| Brightness rating | 450 ISO lumens | 200 ANSI lumens | ISO and ANSI are different measurement standards, so the figures are not a direct apples-to-apples brightness test. |
| Throw ratio | 1.2:1 | 1.2:1 | Both need roughly the same distance for a given image width. |
| Published image-size range | 40–200 inches | 40–120 inches | The MoGo 4 is specified for a larger maximum image, subject to room darkness and placement. |
| Built-in audio | Two 6W Harman/Kardon speakers | One 8W speaker | The MoGo 4 has more speaker hardware; wattage alone does not prove which sounds better. |

Brightness, contrast and room lighting
Why the 450-versus-200 numbers need caution
XGIMI rates the MoGo 4 at 450 ISO lumens, while Anker rates the Capsule 3 at 200 ANSI lumens. ISO and ANSI lumens use different test conventions. A larger number in one standard cannot be converted into an exact equivalent in the other without a controlled measurement. The safest conclusion from the published specifications is that XGIMI claims substantially more brightness headroom, not that the MoGo 4 is exactly 2.25 times brighter.
#1 Best Overall
- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.

- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Independent testing points in the same direction. RTINGS’ head-to-head summary finds the MoGo 4 brighter, more accurate out of the box and lower in input lag. It reports noticeably better contrast from the Capsule 3 and says the Anker is a little better in a pitch-black room. The detailed numerical laboratory results are restricted on RTINGS’ comparison page, so these are directional findings rather than a complete set of published measurements. See the RTINGS comparison for its methodology and current assessment.
What that means in a real room
- Dark bedroom or tent: The Capsule 3’s contrast advantage can make black areas look more convincing when stray light is minimal. What Hi-Fi? says its 200-lumen output needs very dark conditions to perform at its best; its portable-projector guide is a useful reminder not to expect television-like brightness.
- Dim living room: The MoGo 4’s higher stated output gives highlights and subtitles more reserve when a small lamp or some daylight remains. Darkening curtains still improves either projector.
- Outdoor evening: Wait until the sky and nearby lighting are genuinely dark. A projector’s image is competing with every light source around the screen, so the same unit can look excellent at night and washed out at dusk.
Brightness is also affected by image size. Enlarging a projected image spreads the available light over more area. If a 200-inch image is technically within the MoGo 4’s stated range, it will generally need darker surroundings than a smaller image to retain punch. Treat the published ranges as placement capabilities, not promises of equal picture quality at every size.
Portability, battery life and sound
Carrying weight and physical travel
The Capsule 3 weighs 0.85 kg, compared with 1.31 kg (2.9 lb) for the MoGo 4. That 0.46-kg difference favors the Anker when you walk with the projector, pack it in a small personal bag or carry other camping equipment. The MoGo 4 remains portable, but it is closer to a compact piece of luggage than a truly lightweight cylinder.
Battery claims and what they do not tell you
Both manufacturers state up to 2.5 hours of video playback in Eco Mode. “Up to” is a best-case claim: brightness level, volume, wireless activity, room temperature, battery age and the streaming app can all change runtime. No controlled, same-condition battery comparison establishes that one lasts longer than the other.

XGIMI also lists a 71.28 Wh battery and up to 6 hours of music playback for the MoGo 4. Music mode does not drive the projector’s light source in the same way as video, so that figure should not be used to estimate movie time. The Capsule 3 specification cited here provides the 2.5-hour Eco video claim but no comparable music-runtime figure.
Built-in speakers
The MoGo 4 uses two 6W Harman/Kardon speakers. The Capsule 3 uses a single 8W speaker. Two speakers can provide a wider presentation, and the MoGo 4 has more total speaker hardware, but electrical wattage is not a standardized measure of perceived loudness, bass or clarity. Room size, enclosure design and equalization matter. For a group outdoors, either projector may benefit from an external speaker; the built-in audio is most useful when minimizing equipment is more important than maximum volume.
Picture quality, gaming and smart features
Resolution and image processing
Both standard models use a 1080p DLP imaging chip and are specified at 1,920 × 1,080. That is enough detail for films, television and console games at normal portable-projector sizes. XGIMI explicitly notes that the MoGo 4 is not a 4K projector. Do not buy either model expecting native 4K detail.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →RTINGS reports that the MoGo 4 is more accurate out of the box. That can reduce the need to adjust picture settings before watching, although perceived color still depends on the wall or screen surface and the room’s lighting. The Capsule 3’s contrast advantage may be more visible in scenes with deep shadows than the MoGo 4’s accuracy advantage.

Input lag and game mode
RTINGS gives the MoGo 4 the lower input-lag result in its comparison. XGIMI’s published specification lists up to 20 ms at 1080p/60 Hz in Game Mode with auto keystone turned off. “Up to 20 ms” is a manufacturer specification for that stated mode and condition, not a guarantee for every resolution, game, source or firmware version.
Competitive players should connect the console directly, select the projector’s game-oriented picture mode, and disable unnecessary image processing where the projector permits it. Auto keystone can make setup easier but may add processing and reduce the usable image area; the stated 20-ms figure specifically assumes auto keystone is off. For casual single-player games, either projector can be suitable once the room is dark and the image is focused.
Google TV and Netflix
Both manufacturers list Google TV and built-in Netflix for these standard models. That means the projector can serve as its own streaming device rather than requiring an HDMI stick for common services. You still need Wi-Fi access and the relevant service account. App availability, licensing and interface details can vary by country, so confirm the listing for your region before purchase.

Anker’s cited Canadian page also lists Chromecast. XGIMI lists Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.1 for the MoGo 4. The Capsule 3 specification used here identifies HDMI 2.1/ARC and Chromecast but does not establish a matching list of wireless versions; do not assume the two connectivity packages are identical.

Throw distance and image placement
Both projectors have a 1.2:1 throw ratio. In practical terms, the lens-to-screen distance is about 1.2 times the projected image’s width. For example, an image 1 metre wide would require roughly 1.2 metres of throw distance, while a 1.5-metre-wide image would require about 1.8 metres. These are planning calculations, not a substitute for the manufacturers’ placement guidance.
Measure the available distance before buying. A projector can focus only within its optical range, and digital keystone correction cannot make every off-axis placement look as sharp as a physically square setup. XGIMI links a projection calculator from its specification page; use it with your intended wall or screen size. The Capsule 3’s published image range is 40–120 inches, while XGIMI lists 40–200 inches for the MoGo 4.
Choose a surface
- A flat, matte, light-colored wall can work indoors without any accessory.
- A portable screen can provide a more uniform surface for outdoor or temporary setups, but it is optional.
- Place the projector on a stable, level support. A small shift in angle can change focus and geometry, especially at larger image sizes.
- Keep the lens clear of obstructions and leave room for ventilation according to the product’s own safety guidance.
Step-by-step setup for either projector
- Measure first. Mark the intended screen width and calculate an approximate 1.2-times throw distance. Confirm that the selected image size falls within the model’s published range.
- Darken the room. Close curtains, switch off unnecessary lamps and avoid placing the screen opposite a bright window. This improves perceived contrast more effectively than chasing a larger image.
- Set the projector square to the surface. Start with the lens centered and the chassis level. Use a stand or stable table rather than balancing the projector on soft or uneven materials.
- Power on and connect to Wi-Fi. Complete the Google TV setup and sign in to streaming services only through the projector’s normal on-screen prompts.
- Focus the image. Adjust focus after the projector reaches its normal operating state and again if you substantially change distance or image size.
- Use keystone sparingly. Correct a small placement error if necessary, but move the projector physically whenever possible to preserve sharpness and image area.
- Select the viewing mode. Use a normal or cinema-oriented mode for films, Eco Mode when battery endurance matters, and Game Mode for console play. The MoGo 4’s 20-ms specification assumes Game Mode at 1080p/60 Hz with auto keystone off.
- Test your actual content. Play a dark film scene, a bright subtitle sequence and a game before settling on the final position. This reveals whether the room is too bright or the image is too large for comfortable viewing.
Charging and off-grid use
The MoGo 4 supports USB-C charging using PD 3.0. A compatible USB-C power bank can be useful for camping or locations without an outlet, but not every USB-C bank will supply the required voltage and wattage. Check the current MoGo 4 input requirements, the power bank’s USB-C PD profiles and the cable or connector specification before relying on it away from home.
Battery operation is most practical when the projector is used at a moderate image size in a dark environment. A larger, brighter image demands more from the system and may shorten the time available for a movie. Because the advertised 2.5-hour figures are Eco Mode claims, plan a margin rather than scheduling a film that exactly matches that limit.

Which projector fits each buyer?
| Your priority | Better fit | Reason |
|---|---|---|
| More brightness headroom in a dim room | MoGo 4 | Its 450 ISO-lumen manufacturer rating and RTINGS’ brighter result provide more flexibility than the Capsule 3’s 200 ANSI-lumen rating. |
| Deepest contrast in a pitch-black room | Capsule 3 | RTINGS reports noticeably better contrast and a slight advantage for the Anker in completely dark conditions. |
| Lowest carrying weight | Capsule 3 | At 0.85 kg, it is 0.46 kg lighter than the MoGo 4. |
| Stronger built-in speaker arrangement | MoGo 4 | It has two 6W Harman/Kardon speakers instead of the Capsule 3’s single 8W speaker, although wattage does not determine sound quality by itself. |
| Console gaming response | MoGo 4, conditionally | RTINGS reports lower input lag, and XGIMI specifies up to 20 ms at 1080p/60 Hz in Game Mode with auto keystone disabled. |
| Largest stated image range | MoGo 4 | XGIMI lists 40–200 inches, compared with 40–120 inches for the Capsule 3. |
| Equal advertised Eco video runtime | Tie on the published claim | Both manufacturers state up to 2.5 hours, but neither figure is a side-by-side battery test. |
| Smallest travel load | Capsule 3 | The lighter chassis is the clearest advantage when every gram matters. |
What to check before buying
- Verify the exact model. Standard MoGo 4 and Capsule 3 specifications are being compared here; laser-branded variants are different products.
- Check regional listings. The cited Capsule 3 page is for Canada and displays Canadian pricing. It does not establish a current US price, stock status or warranty terms.
- Compare like-for-like brightness claims. Keep ISO and ANSI labels attached to their numbers; do not present them as a laboratory conversion.
- Measure your wall and distance. A projector that technically supports a large image may still look dim in your room at that size.
- Budget for sound only if needed. The built-in speakers are convenient, but an external speaker may be preferable for a noisy outdoor group.
- Confirm power-bank compatibility. For the MoGo 4, inspect USB-C PD voltage, wattage and cable requirements rather than assuming any USB-C battery will work.
- Plan for darkness. Neither projector replaces a bright television in a sunlit room; the Capsule 3 is particularly dependent on very dark conditions.

XGIMI announced the MoGo 4 series on June 12, 2025. In that launch announcement, CEO Apollo Zhong described the company’s aim “to reinvent what a portable projector could be—not just for watching, but for setting a mood, creating a space, even transforming a selfie.” The statement is positioning rather than an independent performance claim; the practical choice still comes down to brightness, contrast, weight, sound, placement and your room. The announcement is available from XGIMI.
Final decision
Choose the XGIMI MoGo 4 if you want the more versatile all-rounder: it has the higher stated brightness, stronger built-in speaker arrangement, larger specified image range, lower input lag in RTINGS’ comparison and better out-of-box accuracy. It is the safer choice when the room will be dim rather than completely black, or when gaming and onboard sound matter.
Recommended Free Tools
Choose the Anker Nebula Capsule 3 if minimum weight and pitch-black-room contrast are your priorities. Its 0.85-kg body is substantially easier to carry, and RTINGS finds its contrast better. Accept the narrower 40–120-inch stated range and the need for very dark conditions to get the best result from its 200 ANSI-lumen output.
