XDC Network has selected Concordium as the exclusive identity-verification layer for XDC AI, its marketplace for autonomous agents. The integration is live as of October 15, 2026. It lets each verified agent display a “Verified by Concordium” badge proving that an accountable person or business stands behind it, while keeping that owner’s identity out of ordinary on-chain data.
What XDC and Concordium announced
Concordium said on October 15, 2026, that XDC Network had chosen its identity system for the full XDC AI network. This is Concordium’s first integration covering every agent in a network rather than a limited application or pilot.
XDC AI launched in July 2026. It gives an autonomous software agent a non-custodial wallet, lets the agent discover available services, and supports payment in USDC through the x402 payment standard. The Concordium integration adds a way for counterparties to establish who is accountable for an agent before permitting it to order services, settle invoices, or move funds.

What XDC AI does before identity verification
An XDC AI agent can operate a wallet without handing custody of its funds to a marketplace operator. It can search for services, select a provider and make USDC payments using x402. That payment capability answers how an agent pays, but not who is responsible if the agent submits an erroneous order, violates a contract or sends money to the wrong party.
Concordium’s role is to bind that wallet to a verified owner relationship. The owner can be a person or a business; the badge does not expose the owner’s identity to ordinary users or to XDC AI.
How an owner links an agent to a verified identity
- Complete identity verification. The owner uses Concordium Wallet and presents a passport. An independent identity provider performs the document and liveness checks.
- Link the wallets. The owner links the Concordium account and the XDC smart wallet with two signatures. These signatures authorize the relationship but do not transfer funds.
- Register the agent. The agent is registered against the owner key and wallet relationship in the documented registries.
- Display the credential. Concordium issues the Verified by Concordium badge for the agent.
- Let counterparties check it. A buyer or service provider can verify the badge on chain through Concordium’s explorer or the Agent Registry without asking XDC Network, Concordium or the owner for permission.
The technical relationship
The integration has two linked legs. A Concordium account is identity-backed by an identity provider, while an owner key signs for the XDC smart wallet. The XDC wallet is then checked against the registered key. Documentation identifies the following components:

- Concordium ID for the verified account
- CIS-8 External Key Registry for key binding
- CIS-8004 Agent Registry for agent records
- Verified by Concordium badge for the visible credential
- Sponsored transactions to handle supported transaction fees
The documented networks are Concordium Mainnet and XDC Network, identified as eip155:50. The integration page was last reviewed in October 2026.
What the Verified by Concordium badge proves—and what it does not
The badge proves that a verified person or business stands behind the agent. This creates an accountability signal that a counterparty can check before trusting an unfamiliar autonomous wallet.
It is not a security audit, code review or use-case approval. Concordium does not, by virtue of issuing the badge, certify that an agent’s software is safe, that its prompts are reliable, that its business model is legitimate or that its transactions will be correct. Buyers still need their own controls for spending limits, permissions, monitoring and dispute handling.

Privacy: accountable ownership without public identity
The owner’s name, passport number, photograph, passport data and date of birth are not stored on chain and are not sent to XDC AI. The chain records account and credential state rather than a person’s identity.
XDC AI documentation says an anonymity revoker could identify the credential holder only through legal process. Concordium’s announcement describes a court order and coordinated action by independent Privacy Guardians as the disclosure mechanism. A platform or counterparty cannot request disclosure directly, and no single party can unilaterally reveal the owner.
This gives institutions a verifiable owner relationship without turning every agent’s operator into a public blockchain identity. It also means the badge should be understood as a legally recoverable accountability layer, not as anonymous activity that can never be attributed.

Why the integration matters for institutional use
Autonomous agents increasingly need to transact with organizations that have never met their operators. A payment rail alone does not establish responsibility. Combining XDC AI’s service discovery and USDC settlement with Concordium’s owner binding addresses that missing step.
For example, a procurement agent could identify a supplier, place an order and settle an invoice. The supplier can first check whether the wallet carries a valid badge and whether an accountable business or person is registered behind it. That does not eliminate operational risk, but it provides a basis for onboarding rules that are difficult to apply to an entirely unidentified wallet.

What institutions need next is to know who stands behind an agent before they trust it with real money. Concordium gives every verified agent an accountable owner without putting anyone’s personal data on-chain, so builders on XDC earn trust from their very first transaction.”

What is known about cost, fees and commercial terms
The announcement does not publish a user price, per-agent verification fee, recurring charge or transaction-cost schedule. It also does not provide a public commission rate, referral URL, cookie duration or affiliate-registration process.
The technical documentation lists sponsored transactions as a capability, but that does not by itself establish that every verification or agent transaction is free. Builders should check the current XDC AI and Concordium documentation for the applicable fee treatment before deploying at scale.
The partnership announcement says revenue sharing is included for each agent verification, but no public terms were provided. Any claim about a specific payout or partner program remains unconfirmed until XDC Network or Concordium publishes those terms.

What developers and buyers should check
For developers
- Use the documented Concordium ID, CIS-8 and CIS-8004 interfaces rather than treating a badge image as proof by itself.
- Verify the XDC wallet against the registered owner key and preserve the two-signature linking flow.
- Build spending limits, transaction monitoring and recovery procedures independently; the badge does not audit agent code.
- Confirm network and identifier handling for Concordium Mainnet and XDC Network (
eip155:50).
For counterparties
- Check the badge on chain in Concordium’s explorer or the Agent Registry.
- Confirm that the wallet you are dealing with is the wallet bound to the registered key.
- Treat identity verification and software safety as separate decisions.
- Set contractual and financial limits even when an accountable owner is present.
Availability and limitations
Verification is live through the announced XDC AI endpoint, and developer documentation is available. No published source for this announcement reports agent counts, transaction volume, performance measurements or adoption rates, so those figures should not be inferred from the launch.
The integration is specific to the documented Concordium and XDC Network relationship. The available material does not establish that the credential is automatically portable to other blockchains, that every external marketplace will recognize it, or that identity checks from another provider can be substituted.
Bottom line
XDC AI already gives autonomous agents wallets, service discovery and USDC payments. Concordium adds a verifiable owner relationship: a counterparty can check that a person or business stands behind an agent without seeing that owner’s personal data on chain. The badge improves accountability, but it is not a code audit or a guarantee of honest behavior, and the public announcement leaves pricing and revenue-sharing terms unspecified.
