Xbox’s reported birthday perk is a Microsoft Rewards offer: eligible members can earn double Rewards points on qualifying games and add-ons bought from the Store during their birthday week. It is a purchase-linked points bonus—not a guaranteed free game, gift card, subscription, or hardware gift. Check your signed-in Rewards Hub for the offer and its terms.
What Xbox gives you for your birthday
Current reporting says eligible Microsoft Rewards members may receive 2x Rewards points on eligible games and add-ons purchased from the Microsoft Store during the week of their birthday. The reported birthday week runs Monday through Sunday, with the bonus points available to claim the following week. Pure Xbox reported these offer details on April 23, 2026.

That means the perk is extra points on eligible spending, rather than a free item with no purchase. The report does not establish a standard points payout for everyone, so do not assume a specific points total.
How to check whether your account has the offer
- Sign in to the Microsoft account you use with Xbox.
- Open the Microsoft Rewards Hub and look for a birthday offer or related terms.
- Before buying, review which Store purchases qualify and note the offer’s dates and claim instructions.
- After the birthday week, return to the Rewards Hub during the stated claim window and follow the instructions shown there.
Microsoft describes Rewards with Xbox as part of its free Microsoft Rewards program for Microsoft account holders, but earning opportunities and availability can vary. Microsoft’s Rewards with Xbox support page explains the program; the live offer in your account is the place to confirm whether you have this birthday promotion.

Who is eligible—and what is not confirmed
The birthday offer has been reported for eligible Rewards members, but Microsoft’s public support information does not establish complete birthday-specific eligibility or geographic terms. Rewards and redemption options can depend on account, market, and availability. Check the offer in your own Rewards Hub rather than assuming every Xbox player qualifies. Microsoft’s Rewards information covers broader program and availability conditions.
How this differs from other Xbox benefits
Game Pass benefits are separate from the reported birthday offer. Xbox describes in-game benefits for participating games and eligible members; those perks depend on the game and membership and are not evidence of an automatic birthday gift. See Xbox Wire’s explanation of Game Pass in-game benefits.
