Yes, WWE All Stars can run on a modern PC through an unofficial Windows recompilation, but it is not a conventional emulator and it does not include the game. You need your own USA or Europe Xbox 360 disc image, Title Update 2 dumped from your console, a 64-bit Windows installation with Vulkan support, and roughly 8 GB of free storage. The project has been tested on Windows 11 with an AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT and on Steam Deck through SteamOS and Proton; Windows 10, desktop Linux, and NVIDIA or Intel graphics are explicitly untested.
What the WWE All Stars PC recompilation is
This project is an unofficial recompilation of the Xbox 360 version of WWE All Stars for x86-64 PCs. It translates the original PowerPC game code ahead of time and uses a native Vulkan renderer for the game’s Direct3D 9 calls. That architecture is why it can deliver a native PC-style executable while still requiring files from your Xbox 360 copy.
It is not an emulator in which you mount a disc and emulate an Xbox 360 in real time. The launcher reads the source files you provide, verifies them, copies the required data into its own game-data directory, and prepares shaders and graphics pipelines. The README says the source files are read rather than modified. Initial preparation normally takes a few minutes and is performed once for that installation.

WWE All Stars PC recompilation requirements
The following are the project’s published requirements and test boundaries. A requirement marked as tested is not a guarantee for every machine with similar specifications.

Which modes and hardware configurations are documented as working
The README identifies specific playable modes rather than promising that every part of the original game works. These documented areas include:
- Exhibition 1v1, including entrances, finishers and the result screen.
- Path of Champions.
- Fantasy Warfare.
- Create a Superstar.
- Four local players.
- DLC wrestlers from the Million Dollar Pack, when the DLC is supplied through the launcher.
- Experimental online Player Match.
Ranked Match and leaderboards are unsupported. The in-game store is also unsupported; DLC is added through the launcher instead. Anything outside the listed modes may still crash, so treat the list as a compatibility boundary rather than a complete feature guarantee.

Game files you must provide
Xbox 360 disc image
Use a USA or Europe Xbox 360 disc image made from your own copy. The launcher accepts the image by file selection or drag and drop. Buying a physical disc does not automatically provide a legal console dump, and it does not include the separate Title Update 2 file needed by this setup.

Title Update 2
Title Update 2 must also come from your own console. The README gives the common Xbox 360 drive or USB path as Content 00000000000000054510866 00B0000. The file is commonly named tu00000005_00000000, although it may instead appear under a name beginning with TU_ in the console’s Cache folder.
The launcher can receive the update as the individual file, a containing folder, or an archive in ZIP, 7z or RAR format. If you are unsure which item to select, choose the folder or archive that contains the Title Update rather than pointing the launcher at an unrelated cache directory.
Optional downloadable content
DLC is not needed for the base installation. If you use it, dump it from your own console and select it in the launcher during setup. The documented DLC example is the Million Dollar Pack. Because the in-game store is unsupported, the launcher is the supported way to add this content.

How to install WWE All Stars Recomp on Windows
- Prepare the source files. Have your USA or Europe Xbox 360 disc image and your console-dumped Title Update 2 available. Add personal DLC only if you intend to use it.
- Download the latest Windows x64 release ZIP. Use the project’s current release archive, not a partial file or an executable opened directly from a browser download pane.
- Extract the entire archive. Put all extracted files in a normal writable folder such as
C:GamesWWEAllStars. Do not launch the executable from inside the ZIP, and avoidProgram Files, where Windows permissions can interfere with generated data and saved state. - Start the launcher. Open
WWEAllStarsLauncher.exefrom the extracted folder. - Select the disc image. Choose the ISO in the launcher or drag it onto the indicated input area.
- Select Title Update 2. Point the launcher to the update file, its containing folder, or a ZIP, 7z or RAR archive containing it. If you are browsing a console dump, check
Content 00000000000000054510866 00B0000and look fortu00000005_00000000or aTU_-prefixed cache item. - Add DLC if desired. Supply only DLC dumped from your own console. Leave this step empty for a base-game installation.
- Allow verification and copying to finish. The launcher checks the selected files, copies the game data and prepares shaders and pipelines. The README describes this as a process that takes a few minutes and normally happens once.
- Choose Play. After preparation completes, launch the game from the launcher. Keep the original source files backed up separately; the launcher reads them and does not change them.
If the launcher rejects an item, first confirm that you selected the actual disc image and the correct Title Update 2 container. A folder with many unrelated cache files can make it harder for the launcher to identify the update.

Native and Emulated renderers
Native is the default renderer. It uses the project’s Vulkan implementation to render the original Direct3D 9 calls. Emulated remains available as a fallback and reference path. The documentation does not publish a universal frame-rate comparison between the two, so choose based on whether shader preparation succeeds and whether the launcher reports a reason for falling back.

Fix uneven frame pacing and low performance
Uneven motion at high-refresh rates
The game targets its original 60 frames per second. If your display supports variable refresh, turn on FreeSync or G-Sync and use the display’s variable-refresh mode. Without variable refresh, choose a refresh rate divisible by 60, such as 60, 120 or 240 Hz.
At 144 or 165 Hz without variable refresh, the display cannot divide a 60-fps stream evenly. Frames therefore alternate across two and three refresh intervals, which can look like uneven motion even when the game is maintaining its target rate. Changing the monitor to 60, 120 or 240 Hz is the documented remedy.
Low frame rate on a weaker GPU
- Open the game’s GRAPHICS settings.
- Select the Low preset.
- Test again before changing individual options.
Supersampling is identified by the project as the costly setting. If you need additional performance, make sure supersampling is reduced or disabled before blaming the display refresh rate or controller.

Steam Deck performance
The project README states that the game runs at its original 60 frames per second on Steam Deck when using SteamOS through Proton, with Low cited in the compatibility notes. This is a maintainer-published result, not an independent benchmark, and it should not be generalized to every Proton version, power limit or graphics preset.
Common startup, installation and graphics fixes

What to do when setup runs again after moving the folder
The launcher stores installation state under the userdata directory. If you are using a release up through 1.0.0 and moved the complete installation, delete userdatalauncher-state.json from the new location. This lets the launcher rediscover the nearby gamedata directory instead of treating the move as a missing installation.
Releases newer than 1.0.0 are documented as handling moved folders automatically. If a current release still behaves as though the game data is missing, use Open logs rather than repeatedly deleting files; the session log can show which path the launcher is trying to open.
How to report a crash or incorrect graphics
- Reproduce the problem once, noting whether it occurs during verification, shader preparation, launch or gameplay.
- In the launcher, select Open logs.
- Review the opened session folder for paths that reveal your Windows user name or other private information.
- Zip the session folder after removing or redacting personal paths where appropriate.
- Attach the archive to a bug report and describe your operating system, GPU, driver state, renderer shown by the launcher and the game mode that failed.
The maintainer specifically asks for a session log because anything outside the listed working modes may still crash. A log is more useful than a general statement that the game does not work: it records the launcher’s selected paths, renderer and failure context.

Updating while keeping saves
When moving to a newer release, copy the existing userdata folder into the new release’s folder to carry saves over. Keep the new release’s executable and supporting files intact, and do not overwrite the new version with an old extracted directory. If you are upgrading from a release through 1.0.0 and the launcher cannot find the copied game data, apply the userdatalauncher-state.json remedy described above.
Online, store and DLC limitations
Experimental online Player Match is listed as playable, but Ranked Match and leaderboards are unsupported. The project also does not support the original in-game store. DLC must therefore be supplied through the launcher from your own console dump. These limitations are separate from graphics performance: a computer that launches correctly can still encounter unsupported online or store features.
Before you troubleshoot: a practical checklist
- Confirm the operating system is 64-bit Windows 10 or 11, or recognize that a Linux setup is outside the documented desktop test boundary.
- Confirm Vulkan is available and the graphics driver is current.
- Keep approximately 8 GB free in a writable location.
- Use a USA or Europe Xbox 360 disc image made from your own copy.
- Provide Title Update 2 from your own console, checking the documented content path or a
TU_-named cache item. - Extract the complete Windows x64 release to a normal folder, not inside the ZIP or under
Program Files. - Run shader preparation before diagnosing an Emulated-renderer launch.
- Use Low graphics and address supersampling before judging GPU performance.
- Use variable refresh or a 60-divisible display refresh rate for smoother motion.
- Attach a cleaned session log when reporting crashes or incorrect graphics.
Bottom line
The recompilation is a practical way to play the Xbox 360 version on compatible hardware, provided you supply the legally appropriate disc image and Title Update 2 yourself. Its strongest documented targets are Windows 11 with the tested AMD configuration and Steam Deck through Proton. Treat Windows 10, desktop Linux, NVIDIA and Intel systems as untested, follow the launcher’s verification and shader-preparation steps, and use the published log-based troubleshooting process when a mode or configuration falls outside the documented compatibility list.
