The Worlds 2026 Play-In draw set two opening matches: FURIA vs. MVK Esports and Cloud9 Kia vs. Karmine Corp. Riot’s live bracket showed both series as pending when checked. The four-team stage is a best-of-five, double-elimination bracket, with one team advancing to Swiss.

The bracket lists the teams as FUR, MVK, C9 and KC. The draw establishes opponents, not results or favorites. Riot’s Worlds 2026 Primer, published October 5, 2026, said the four-team matchups would be determined by a fully random draw, meaning any participant could meet any other.
Who does Cloud9 play at Worlds 2026?
Cloud9 Kia opens against Karmine Corp in the upper-bracket semifinal. The other opening pairing is FURIA against MVK Esports. Riot’s primer identifies the participants by league: FURIA (CBLOL), Karmine Corp (LEC), Cloud9 (LCS) and MVK Esports (LCP).

Each series is best-of-five, and the four-team bracket is double elimination. Teams have an upper-bracket route and, after a loss, a lower-bracket route; a second loss eliminates a team. The Play-In produces one qualifier for the next stage, rather than one qualifier from each opening match.

That qualifier joins the 16-team Swiss stage, which Riot describes as five rounds. The Play-In draw does not determine Swiss opponents or outcomes. Riot’s LoL Esports tournament overview sets out the Swiss format and the single Play-In qualification place.
Worlds 2026 Play-In dates and venue
Riot’s primer scheduled the Play-In for October 15–18, 2026, in Los Angeles, California, with matches beginning at 6 p.m. GMT. It scheduled Swiss for October 23–31 and Knockout for November 3–14, with the final listed for November 14 in Brooklyn. Dates and times can change, so check the official schedule for updates.
