“Gainsborough” codename
The report says “Gainsborough” appeared in AMD-related materials and in a shipping-manifest reference. Neither Valve nor AMD has confirmed that it is a Steam Deck 2 chip.

Possible chip design and timing
Proposed CPU and GPU architectures, manufacturing process, and a possible 2027–2028 window are unverified leak claims described by the secondary report. They are not official product details. A rumored chip name or design is not enough to predict real-world gaming performance.
Can Steam Deck 2 be compared with current handhelds?
