Capcom has not confirmed DLC for the Resident Evil Code: Veronica remake. A July 27, 2026 report by GamingBolt attributes a claim about a several-hour story expansion to leaker AestheticGamer, also known as Dusk Golem. The comparison to Resident Evil 4 remake’s Separate Ways is a rumor, not an announced plan.

What the DLC report actually says

GamingBolt reported that AestheticGamer / Dusk Golem said Capcom had decided to focus on “major several-hour-long DLC story expansions” for Resident Evil Requiem and Veronica, and possibly future Resident Evil titles. GamingBolt described this as the first report it had seen of an expansion for the remake and compared the approach to Separate Ways, the story expansion for the Resident Evil 4 remake. GamingBolt’s July 27 report attributes the claim to the leaker; it is not a statement from Capcom.

The report does not identify a Veronica DLC plot, playable characters, price, release date, or platforms. It also does not establish whether any expansion would require the base game or be sold separately. None of those details should be treated as known.

What Capcom has confirmed about the remake

Capcom announced Resident Evil Veronica on June 8, 2026, describing it as a reimagining of Resident Evil Code: Veronica, originally released in 2000. The remake is being developed with Capcom’s RE ENGINE and is scheduled for 2027. Capcom said the release date and further details would be announced later. Capcom’s announcement lists PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC as platforms for the remake—not as confirmed platforms for any DLC.

In June interview coverage, producer Yoshiaki Hirabayashi said the remake would include some story changes, without specifying them. The game is third-person only, according to Nintendo Wire’s report on the producer Q&A. GameSpot’s interview report says the remake focuses on Claire Redfield and also features Chris Redfield, with the team aiming to explore the characters’ stories more deeply than in the original.

Why “Separate Ways-style” is only a comparison

Separate Ways is a useful shorthand for a substantial story expansion, but the analogy does not establish that a Veronica add-on would match its length, structure, characters, price, or release timing. The report’s wording supports only the claim that a leaker described several-hour story expansions as a focus; it does not provide a Veronica-specific design or product plan.

If Capcom announces DLC, the details that will determine what it actually offers include its story and playable characters, whether it is standalone or requires the remake, its supported platforms, price, length, and release timing. For now, those points remain unconfirmed.
