Yes. Grand Theft Auto VI is officially listed for Xbox Series X|S, the console family that includes Xbox Series S. Xbox currently shows November 19, 2026, as the release date. The listings confirm platform availability, but they do not yet publish Series S-specific resolution, frame-rate, graphics-mode, install-size, or storage details.
Xbox Series S is included in the official Xbox listing
Xbox identifies Grand Theft Auto VI as an Xbox Series X|S title. “Xbox Series X|S” is the platform designation for Microsoft’s current Series console family, so the listing covers Xbox Series S as well as Xbox Series X. Rockstar’s own Grand Theft Auto VI page also names Xbox Series X|S among the announced platforms.
That is a compatibility statement, not a performance guarantee. It establishes that the game is being announced for the Series family, but it does not tell you how the Series S version will be configured, what visual settings it will use, or whether it will offer the same display options as another console.

When is GTA 6 coming to Xbox Series S?
The currently listed console release date is November 19, 2026. Xbox displays that date on its game page, and Take-Two’s 2026 pre-order announcement gives the same date for the announced console release. The date should therefore be treated as the present official schedule, while recognizing that a publisher can change a release timetable.
If you are planning a purchase around launch, verify the date again when pre-orders open or shortly before release. A store page can also show a local time, delivery date, or edition-specific fulfillment information that is not established by the platform announcement itself.
Will GTA 6 run on Series S at a particular resolution or frame rate?
The official pages reviewed do not specify a Series S resolution, frame rate, graphics mode, visual-quality target, or feature difference. They also do not publish an install size or a storage requirement for the Xbox version. Consequently, no responsible answer can promise 4K, 60 frames per second, a choice of quality and performance modes, or any other specific target for Series S.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesBe careful with screenshots, forum posts, retailer descriptions, and videos that claim to reveal those numbers. Unless Rockstar or Xbox publishes the specification, such figures are estimates or reports rather than confirmed Series S requirements. The safe distinction is:

- Memory: 10GB GDDR6 128 bit-wide bus; Memory Bandwidth: 8GB @ 224 GB/s, 2GB @ 56 GB/s.; Internal Storage: 512GB Custom NVME SSD
- Gaming Resolution: 1440p; Performance Target: Up to 120 FP.
- HDMI Features: Auto Low Latency Mode, HDMI Variable Refresh Rate, AMD FreeSync.
- Compatibility: officially listed for Xbox Series X|S, including Series S.
- Performance: Series S-specific resolution, frame rate, and graphical differences have not been announced on the cited official pages.
- Storage: no official install-size or storage requirement is provided in those listings.
That distinction matters if you are choosing a console. The platform listing answers whether the game is intended for the console family; it does not answer how the final build will look or perform on an individual model.
What “Xbox Series X|S” means when you own a Series S
Publishers commonly use the combined “Xbox Series X|S” label when a title is announced for both current-generation Xbox Series models. In this case, both Xbox and Rockstar use that family label rather than publishing a separate “Series S” listing. For a Series S owner, the relevant conclusion is that the console falls inside the announced platform family.
Do not read the combined label as evidence that the two models will have identical output. The pages establish one supported console family, not identical resolution, frame-rate, texture, or graphics settings. Those technical details would need a separate statement from the developer or platform holder.

How to verify compatibility before you buy
Use the following checks when a store page or pre-order becomes available:
Rank #3
- Access your favorite entertainment through apps like YouTube, Netflix, and more
- Enjoy over 100 games right out of the box with a 1 month Xbox Game Pass trial
- Watch 4K Blu-ray movies and stream 4K video on Netflix, Amazon, Hulu, Microsoft Movies & TV, and more
- Play with friends and family near and farsitting together on the sofa or around the world on Xbox Live, the fastest, most reliable gaming network
- Xbox One games and accessories work together
- Read the platform line. It should explicitly say Xbox Series X|S or identify Xbox Series S. A listing that names only an older Xbox generation is not the same announcement.
- Check the edition. Confirm whether the product is the standard edition, a bundle, or another edition, and make sure the included entitlement is for Xbox Series consoles.
- Confirm the region. Match the store region and account region to the code or product description. Rockstar’s support guidance concerns the physical version, while a retailer controls the exact regional terms shown on its page.
- Check the fulfillment format. Rockstar says the physical version contains a download code. Read the retailer’s wording to determine whether you are receiving a boxed package with a code, a digital code, or another delivery method.
- Review the date and cancellation terms. The official date is currently November 19, 2026, but store policies determine how a changed date, delayed shipment, or canceled pre-order is handled.
- Keep the order record. Save the edition name, platform, region, and code or delivery details so you can resolve an entitlement problem with the retailer or platform support.
These checks prevent a common mistake: treating any product that mentions “Xbox” as automatically suitable for Series S. The generation and fulfillment format should both be visible in the listing you purchase.
What the physical version’s download code means
Rockstar Customer Support describes the physical version as containing a download code. That wording is important because a box is not, by itself, proof that the package contains a traditional game disc. The product page should tell you what the code unlocks, which Xbox platform it serves, and which region or edition applies.
Before buying a physical package for a Series S, read the retailer’s complete format description. Confirm that the code is for Xbox Series X|S and that the seller’s region matches the account on which you intend to redeem it. If the listing uses vague language such as “Xbox” without identifying the Series generation, ask the retailer for clarification rather than assuming it is compatible.
How the announced platforms compare
| Announced console platform | Officially named? | Currently listed date | Series S-specific information |
|---|---|---|---|
| Xbox Series X|S | Yes | November 19, 2026 | Resolution, frame rate, graphics differences, install size, and storage requirement are not stated on the cited official pages |
| PlayStation 5 | Yes | November 19, 2026 is the currently announced console date | The cited pages do not provide Xbox Series S specifications for comparison |
This table compares only the platforms named in the official announcements. It does not imply that the consoles will have matching performance or that every edition will be sold in every market.

Is there a PC version or another Xbox version?
The official console listings cited here name PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. They do not announce a PC platform or a PC release date, and they do not establish support for an additional Xbox generation. Therefore, do not treat a rumor, an unofficial store page, or a generic “Xbox” label as confirmation of another version.
If Rockstar or Xbox later adds a platform, the reliable confirmation will be a new official listing or announcement. Until then, the defensible compatibility statement remains limited to the two announced console platforms.
What Series S owners should prepare for launch
You can make a purchase decision without waiting for a performance specification, but you should separate confirmed facts from information that is still pending. The following checklist keeps those decisions practical:
The Tool Desk
Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Outbyte Driver Updater FREEScan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →- Already own a Series S: the console is inside the Xbox Series X|S platform listing. Watch the official Xbox and Rockstar pages for edition, preload, and technical details.
- Considering a Series S for this game: treat the game’s availability as confirmed, but do not buy on the assumption of a particular resolution or frame rate that has not been published.
- Choosing between console platforms: compare the editions and services actually offered in your region. The announcements alone do not establish performance differences.
- Buying a boxed copy: verify that it contains an Xbox Series-compatible download code and that the region and edition are correct.
- Managing storage: wait for an official install-size or storage requirement before purchasing an expansion drive specifically for this title. No such number appears in the cited listings.
These steps address the decisions the current information can support without turning an official platform listing into an unsupported hardware promise.
Where to check for changes
For the platform and date, start with the Xbox listing and Rockstar’s official game page. For editions and the physical download-code description, use Rockstar Customer Support. Take-Two’s 2026 announcement records the announced date and the $79.99 pre-order price, but a retailer’s live price and availability may change.
When these pages add Series S performance targets, storage requirements, or updated release information, those details can answer questions that the present platform listings leave open. Until then, the official evidence supports availability on Series S and the currently listed November 19, 2026 date—nothing more specific about performance.
