If your Razorpay subscription tier shows three different prices, the displays alone do not establish that Razorpay has a pricing bug. First check that each screen refers to the same plan, then compare the plan’s amount and currency with the amount’s unit and its billing frequency. The three values and where they appeared are not specified here, so the cause cannot be identified without those records.

What a Razorpay subscription plan stores

Razorpay’s plan API separates the plan’s price from its billing schedule: the item object holds plan details, while period and interval define how often the plan charges. Documented periods include daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly; an interval can also describe a custom cadence, such as once every three weeks. See Razorpay’s Create a Plan API documentation.

That means a price shown next to a monthly plan and a total covering several months are not necessarily the same kind of figure. Record whether each value is a recurring charge, a one-time amount, or a total for a stated period before comparing them.

Razorpay describes plans as reusable templates containing an amount and billing frequency, and says businesses can create multiple plans with different pricing and cycles. Its dashboard guidance also says created plans cannot be edited or deleted. That guidance is hosted by Axis Bank and was crawled about five years before this article; check the current dashboard behavior rather than assuming the restriction remains unchanged. See the plan dashboard guidance.

  • Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.

How to trace the three prices

  1. Write down each display and its location. Note whether it appears on the plan dashboard, subscription detail, checkout or payment page, API response, invoice, or customer communication. Copy the amount exactly, including currency, and note whether it is recurring, one-time, or a period total.
  2. Find the plan ID attached to the subscription. Compare that ID with the plan you intended to use for the ₹399 tier. Razorpay’s plan API uses a plan ID when creating a subscription, so the subscription may be referencing a different plan than the one you are inspecting.
  3. Compare the underlying plan fields. In the relevant API record, inspect item.amount, item.currency, period, and interval, then compare those with the dashboard record. A display label by itself does not show whether the amount, currency, or cadence differs.
  4. Verify the unit before converting. Razorpay’s payment-link documentation says amounts are supplied in the smallest currency unit and gives ₹300 as 30000. That is a useful INR example, but it documents payment links; it does not establish how every subscription API response or dashboard screen presents an amount. Check the convention for the specific field and interface you are comparing before treating a number as rupees or paise. See Razorpay’s payment-link API example.
  5. Check what each displayed value represents. If the same plan and currency appear throughout, look for differences in billing period or whether a screen shows a recurring amount versus a total. The available records do not establish whether tax, an offer, or another display adjustment applies to your account, so verify those details in the affected screen or account records rather than assuming a cause.

What the documentation examples do—and do not—tell you

The Create a Plan API documentation says an INR plan amount must be at least ₹1.00 and explains that currency subunits such as paise are used for amount validation. Its sample request includes an amount of 69900; that is a documentation example, not evidence of the amount configured on your account. Likewise, the payment-link example of ₹300 and 30000 illustrates that endpoint’s smallest-unit convention, not a confirmed display rule for every subscription surface.

Razorpay’s terms describe Subscription Services as a platform for creating and managing plans with automated recurring transactions. That description establishes the service’s purpose, not the cause of a price discrepancy. See Razorpay’s terms and conditions.

When to contact Razorpay support

If the plan ID, amount, currency, and billing schedule still do not reconcile across the records, contact support through Razorpay’s customer-care page. Include the plan ID and subscription ID, timestamps for the displays, screenshots, and the relevant API response with credentials and other secrets removed. This gives support the concrete records needed to investigate the discrepancy; it does not assume that a platform defect has been confirmed.
