Xbox Cloud Gaming is not officially listed as supported on PS5. Xbox’s supported-device information does not include PlayStation 5, so adjusting network settings or image options cannot make Xbox Cloud Gaming officially work on that console. If you are seeing lag or a blurry picture, first check whether you are actually using Xbox Cloud Gaming on a supported device—or PlayStation’s separate cloud-streaming service on PS5.
Can you use Xbox Cloud Gaming on PS5?
Xbox’s current Cloud Gaming page lists supported devices and browsers, including Windows PCs, phones and tablets, Xbox consoles, select smart TVs, Fire TV, Meta Quest, and supported browsers such as Edge, Chrome, or Safari at xbox.com. It does not list PS5. That means Xbox Cloud Gaming is not officially supported on PS5; the available information does not rule out every conceivable workaround, but it does not establish PS5 compatibility either. Xbox’s supported-device and access information is the appropriate place to check current availability.
A PlayStation controller working with Xbox Cloud Gaming on another supported device does not change that. Microsoft says the service supports Bluetooth controllers including DualSense and DualShock, but that describes controller input—not running Xbox Cloud Gaming on a PS5. Microsoft’s 2025 developer article discusses controller support in that broader context.

Cloud gaming sends gameplay video over the internet while returning your controller inputs to the service. High latency or an unstable connection can delay controls; limited or inconsistent bandwidth can also reduce visual quality. Microsoft says performance depends on the connection, user location, device, and other factors, so a speed test alone cannot identify every cause of lag or blur. Xbox’s service guidance and Microsoft’s cloud-gaming troubleshooting guide describe these factors.
#1 Best Overall
- High-Performance Connectivity: This Cat 6 ethernet cable is designed for superior performance, with a 24 AWG copper wire core. It provides universal connectivity as an ethernet cord for LAN network components such as PCs, servers, printers, routers, and more, ensuring reliable and fast network connections
- Advanced Cat6 Technology: Experience Cat6 performance with higher bandwidth at a Cat5e price. This network cable is future-proof, ready for 10-Gigabit Ethernet and backwards compatible with any existing Cat 5 cable network. It meets or exceeds Category 6 performance according to the TIA/EIA 568-C.2 standard
- Reliable Wired Network Solution: Known variously as a Cat6 network cable, ethernet cable Cat 6, or Cat 6 data/LAN cable, this RJ45 cable offers a more secure and reliable connection than wireless networks. It's ideal for internet connections that demand consistency and security
- Durable and Secure Design: The connectors of this ethernet cable feature gold-plated contacts and strain-relief boots for enhanced durability. Bare copper conductors not only improve cable performance but also comply with communication cable specifications
- High-Speed Data Transfer: With up to 550 MHz bandwidth, this ethernet cord is ideal for server applications, cloud computing, video surveillance, and streaming high-definition video. It also supports Power over Ethernet (PoE, PoE+, PoE++) for powering devices like IP cameras, VoIP phones, and wireless access points, ensuring fast and reliable network performance.
Those network issues are relevant if you are playing on an Xbox-supported device. They do not explain away the PS5 support mismatch: network tuning cannot add official Xbox Cloud Gaming support to PS5.
How to reduce lag or blur on a supported Xbox Cloud Gaming device
- Confirm device, game, and access requirements. Check the current Xbox Cloud Gaming page for supported devices, regions, and games. Xbox says a compatible controller is required except for select touch-control titles. Access depends on the title and region: some free-to-play games may be available with a free Microsoft account in supported regions, while other games require an eligible plan.
- Reduce network congestion. Pause downloads and other high-bandwidth activity, and close bandwidth-heavy apps or browser tabs on the network. If you use Wi-Fi, move closer to the router. Microsoft recommends 5 GHz Wi-Fi or mobile data as options to try. Microsoft’s troubleshooting steps explain these measures.
- Try Ethernet if the device has a network port. Microsoft says a wired connection is generally more consistent than Wi-Fi and may reduce interruptions. A suitable Ethernet cable is an optional way to connect a supported device; it will not enable Xbox Cloud Gaming on PS5. Microsoft’s guide explains the wired-connection recommendation.
- Use Xbox’s bandwidth figures as guidance, not a promise. Xbox lists 10 Mbps as a general minimum download speed and says some devices may need 20 Mbps for best quality. Its page identifies 20 Mbps as the best-performance target on consoles, PCs, and tablets. These are Xbox’s published service guidelines, not a guarantee of low latency or sharp video; performance also depends on location, device, and connection quality. See the current Xbox requirements.
- Consider Clarity Boost only in its supported context. Microsoft describes Edge Clarity Boost as client-side visual scaling for Xbox Cloud Gaming in Microsoft Edge on Windows 10 and 11. It may make the stream appear sharper, but Microsoft does not describe it as a latency fix, and the available information does not establish it as a PS5 feature. The Windows Experience Blog’s Clarity Boost announcement provides its stated context.
If you meant cloud gaming on PS5
PlayStation offers a separate service: PlayStation Plus Premium cloud streaming for select PlayStation games on PS5 and PlayStation Portal in supported locations. It streams eligible PlayStation titles, not Xbox Cloud Gaming titles. Availability and the game catalog depend on location and can change. Check PlayStation’s current US cloud-streaming page for the applicable catalog and access terms.

- The unique flat cable shape allows for a cleaner and safer installation. You can easily and seamlessly make the cable run along walls, follow edges & corners or even make it completely invisible by sliding it under a carpet.
PlayStation’s published bandwidth guidance applies to its own service: it lists 5 Mbps upload and download as the minimum to establish a session, and recommends 13 Mbps for 720p, 23 Mbps for 1080p, 38 Mbps for 1440p, and 52 Mbps for 2160p. These figures are not Xbox Cloud Gaming requirements. PlayStation’s service page gives the current requirements.
