WARDOGS’ Blue faction, Lonestar, has had a substantially lower win rate than Red and Green, according to the developers. For Season 2, Bulkhead announced map-spawn and uniform-visibility changes alongside temporary cash and XP incentives intended to encourage players to choose Lonestar. The developer described the incentives as an experiment; the announced changes do not yet establish that Lonestar’s results or reputation will improve.

How far behind has Lonestar been?

In an October 9, 2026 report, Rob Keyes said WARDOGS developers gave Season 1 win rates of 10% for Blue/Lonestar, 40% for Red, and 50% for Green. The same report said Lonestar’s rate had previously been around 20%. These are figures attributed to developer comments in the report, not independently audited results. The coverage does not state the match count, measurement period, treatment of draws, or calculation method. (AOL / ScreenRant report)

Bulkhead’s official preview confirms the direction of the problem, saying that “one team has had a notoriously lower win rate than the other two.” It does not provide the exact percentages. (WARDOGS Season 2 preview)

Why does Blue keep losing?

Uniform visibility and spawn positions

Bulkhead said it had been looking at Lonestar uniform visibility and some faction spawn positions. The Season 2 preview does not quantify how much either issue contributed to losses, so neither should be treated as a proven single cause.

Player sentiment

The developer also identified player willingness to choose Blue as a major part of the problem. Bulkhead said “sentiment around the blue team is the largest driving factor for players not wanting to play on it.” If players avoid a faction, that can reinforce an imbalance in who is willing to play it, but the preview does not quantify that effect or establish how it translates into match outcomes.

What Season 2 changes for Lonestar

Bulkhead’s October 9 preview announced several Lonestar-specific changes, combining adjustments to gameplay conditions with temporary rewards:

Change What the preview says Scope
Bakurani spawns Faction spawn positions will be moved. Map-specific adjustment; the preview does not detail the new positions.
Uniforms Lonestar uniforms will be desaturated. Visibility adjustment; no measured visibility change is given.
Cash and XP Lonestar will receive faction cash and XP win bonuses and multipliers. Season 2 only; the preview does not state the amounts or full conditions.

The spawn and uniform adjustments target match conditions, while the cash and XP rewards are temporary economic incentives. The announcement does not say how much each measure is expected to change Lonestar’s win rate or player sentiment.

How the losing-team vendor discount works

The preview separately announced a 20% vendor discount for whichever team is losing by at least 40 points against the team in second place. Unlike the Lonestar bonuses, this offer is available to any team that meets the stated condition. It is a game rule, not a statistic about faction performance. The preview does not provide further eligibility details.

What the experiment can—and cannot—show

Bulkhead said it was running a social experiment “to see if and how that affects their win rate and perception long term.” That makes the Season 2 incentives an attempt to influence both player choices and match results, not evidence that either has already improved.

The October 9 preview said full balance patch notes were still forthcoming. It also mentioned weapon damage, recoil, and suppression adjustments, plus work involving squad coordination, vehicles, controller responsiveness, progression, performance, bugs, and server stability. Those broader areas were announced without complete specifications in the preview. (Official Season 2 preview)
