Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) is a mobile 5v5 MOBA with a professional scene built around regional leagues, international tournaments and a recurring world championship. MOONTON reports more than 1.5 billion installations and 110 million monthly active users, but those publisher-reported figures describe scale—not a verified ranking that makes MLBB the world’s biggest mobile game by every measure. The case for following its esports is clearer: there are multiple routes into major events, distinct competitions to follow through the year, and audience figures that show substantial interest.
What makes MLBB esports worth following?
For a new viewer, the appeal is not just that the game is popular. MLBB has a competition structure that makes it possible to follow a team’s regional progress, watch it qualify for international play, and compare its performance against teams from other regions. The flagship M Series world championship gives the calendar a central destination, while other international events offer different formats and storylines.
MOONTON says the game has over 1.5 billion installations and 110 million monthly active users. Installations are not unique people, and monthly active users are a separate measure; neither figure by itself establishes a cross-game “biggest” ranking. The publisher also reported 475 million hours watched for MLBB esports in 2024, attributing the figure to Esports Charts. MOONTON’s company page repeats its game-scale figures, while its M7 opening-ceremony release reports the esports hours-watched figure.

| Competition | Role in the scene | What to watch for |
|---|---|---|
| M Series | MLBB’s flagship world championship | Regional representatives competing for the world title; the M7 Grand Finals reached a publisher-reported peak of more than 5.68 million concurrent viewers. |
| MSC | International mid-season competition; staged at the Esports World Cup (EWC) | How teams compare internationally outside the M Series. At EWC 2025, MOONTON reported a peak of more than 3.06 million concurrent viewers. |
| MWI | Women’s invitational; staged at EWC | A dedicated women’s competition on the international calendar. MOONTON reported 468,976 peak concurrent viewers for MWI at EWC 2025. |
| Regional leagues and qualifiers | Domestic or regional competition and routes toward international events | Team development, qualification stakes and the regional rivalries that provide context for international matches. |
These figures use different measures and refer to different events. MOONTON, citing Esports Charts, reported more than 50.32 million hours watched for MLBB at EWC 2025. Hours watched measure total viewing time; peak concurrent viewers count the largest audience watching at the same time. Neither is a count of unique viewers, and the numbers should not be compared as if they were the same metric. See MOONTON’s EWC 2025 viewership report for its event-specific figures.

How do regional teams reach international competition?
Regional professional leagues and qualification events connect local competition to international tournaments. MOONTON’s announced 2026 structure names Southeast Asia (SEA), Eastern Europe and Central Asia (EECA), Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), East Asia (EA), and the Americas (AMER) as regions. This gives viewers a useful map for understanding where teams compete, though a region’s exact qualification route depends on the event and its rules.
For the EWC 2026 MSC, MOONTON described a 16-team main stage and a 10-team Wild Card. That distinction matters: a Wild Card creates an additional route into the main event, rather than making every team’s path identical. Check the event’s official updates for specific qualification slots and format details as they are announced.

Tiger Xu, MOONTON Games’ Global Head of MLBB Esports, called the Türkiye event “a defining moment for MLBB Esports.” The location and planned timing signal the publisher’s effort to broaden the scene’s reach, but the most useful measure for viewers will be how teams qualify and perform once event details are confirmed.
How to follow a tournament beyond the headline number
- Start with the event’s role. A world championship, mid-season cup, women’s invitational and regional league answer different viewing interests.
- Track the route into the bracket. Note whether a team qualified through a regional league, a regional championship or a Wild Card; that context explains what is at stake in early matches.
- Look at regional history and roster continuity. Prior international finishes and whether a team has kept its lineup can help explain performance. Current roster details and results change, so verify them through the event or league’s current channels.
- Read audience figures by their exact metric. Hours watched, peak concurrent viewers and unique viewers are not interchangeable. Treat each number as an event-specific measure, not a universal popularity score.
MOONTON has also reported that M7’s brand value was estimated at €158.39 million, up 37.7% from M6, in a Shikenso and MOONTON case study. Brand value is an estimate of sponsorship exposure, not tournament revenue, prize money or player earnings. It offers a separate indication of commercial attention, not a measure of competitive quality.
