If Logitech Gaming Software (LGS) says “No devices detected,” Logitech’s documented fix for the G300s and G502 is to leave the mouse connected, uninstall LGS, restart the computer, then install the version specified for that model. The steps are model-specific, not a guaranteed fix for every Logitech device. Check your exact product’s Logitech support or Downloads page before reinstalling.
Use the model-specific reinstall procedure
Logitech documents this sequence for the G300s and G502. Its G502 guidance specifically warns, “IMPORTANT: Do not skip this step,” referring to the restart after uninstalling LGS.
- Keep the affected mouse connected to the computer.
- Uninstall Logitech Gaming Software.
- Restart the computer after uninstalling.
- Install the LGS version listed for your exact device. Logitech’s G502 article says to use LGS version 8.53 or later; its G300s article says to use the latest version available for that mouse. Do not apply the G502 version threshold to other models.
- Restart again if the installer prompts you to do so.
Logitech’s instructions are for particular mouse models, so they do not establish that reinstalling will resolve every detection issue. Use the official support or Downloads page for your product to confirm that LGS applies and to find the appropriate version: G300s Downloads and G502 Downloads.
Check whether LGS is right for your model and operating system
LGS is Logitech software for customizing compatible Logitech G gaming mice and keyboards, but the support material cited here does not provide a complete current compatibility list. Check the exact product page and operating-system requirements before installing. The product page’s displayed Mac release is LGS 8.53.130, last updated June 17, 2014, and lists Mac OS X 10.8.x and 10.9.x. Logitech’s release notes also record a past detection issue affecting some G-mice in the 602/600/400s families and say it was resolved in that update. This documents a historical, model-specific problem; it is not a current, comprehensive compatibility guide.
Make sure the problem is LGS detection, not receiver pairing
“No Devices Detected” can also appear in Logitech instructions for adding a device to a Unifying receiver. That is a pairing problem, separate from LGS recognizing a compatible gaming device. For Unifying pairing, Logitech’s guidance is to select a mouse channel, hold the connect button until its light flashes, and follow the on-screen power-cycle instructions; if the device remains unresponsive, restart pairing. If the message remains
Confirm the exact model and operating system, then check that model’s official Logitech support or Downloads page for LGS compatibility and the recommended installer. The cited Logitech articles do not establish a universal fix involving USB ports, drivers, permissions, or background processes, so avoid treating those as confirmed solutions based on this error alone.
