Shop Titans can show a full inventory even when shelves or racks look empty because several storage limits operate independently. First identify whether the blocked capacity is general chest storage, rack-eligible equipment, or a component/runestone stack. Then use or sell surplus, stock eligible equipment on racks, and upgrade the matching chests or add Trunks. Market listings can provide temporary breathing room, but a listed item may sell, so treat that method as a last-resort workaround.
What “inventory full” means in Shop Titans
The warning does not always describe one universal pool of slots. Players commonly encounter at least three practical limits:
- Stored goods and equipment: Items held in the shop’s persistent inventory consume chest capacity.
- Rack-eligible equipment: Weapon racks and other displays can hold certain equipment, but each rack accepts only the item types it is designed for.
- Component and runestone stacks: Crafting materials and runestones can reach their own per-type stack limits. Empty display space does not increase those stacks.
That is why a shelf can appear vacant while the game still refuses an incoming item. The empty space may belong to the wrong storage category, or the item may be a component that cannot be placed on a display at all.
Diagnose the limit before moving anything
- Read the exact warning and inspect the item. Note whether the blocked item is equipment, a crafting component, or a runestone. A material warning points to stack management; an equipment warning points first to chest space and rack eligibility.
- Open the chest upgrade screen. This shows the persistent storage you can expand. If the chest capacity indicator is full, displays will help only for equipment that those displays accept.
- Check every plausible rack. An empty weapon rack is not a general-purpose slot. Compare the item’s type with the rack’s accepted category and try stocking it manually rather than assuming automatic placement.
- Look for locked items. A player report says locked goods may not move to a rack automatically. If you want to display an item, unlock it and attempt to stock it by hand. This is community advice, not a documented rule, so confirm the result in your own shop.
- Separate stack overflow from storage overflow. If only one component or runestone type is capped, upgrading a chest or clearing a rack will not reduce that stack. Use, craft with, or sell that specific surplus.
Ways to free space immediately

Craft or consume the exact surplus
For components and runestones, the cleanest fix is to turn the excess into something useful. Start a recipe that consumes the capped material, complete any available order that uses it, or otherwise spend it in normal production. This reduces the stack without affecting unrelated equipment. Do not craft blindly: confirm the recipe, because using rare materials merely to clear a warning can be worse than selling a small surplus.

Sell what you no longer need
Selling is the fastest permanent way to remove an item from storage. Community guidance specifically mentions selling runestones on the Market when their stacks are blocking capacity. Apply the same caution to components and equipment: verify the item, quantity, and expected replacement cost before confirming. Keep materials reserved for a near-term blueprint, quest, or customer order rather than liquidating everything shown in the warning.
Move equipment to a compatible rack
Displays are useful only when the item qualifies. Select the equipment, unlock it if necessary, and manually choose the option to stock it on a compatible rack. If the command is unavailable, the item may be the wrong category, still locked, or otherwise ineligible. Do not interpret a failed move as proof that the rack is broken; it may simply be a type mismatch.
Increase storage permanently
Upgrade the matching chests
Chest upgrades are the most direct long-term answer for persistent stored-item capacity. Open the inventory or chest upgrade screen and review the next available upgrade before spending resources. The game’s current official documentation does not provide a complete, verified table of chest levels, costs, or total slots, so use the figures displayed in your edition rather than relying on old online totals.

A Steam Community post by a participant named Nico on January 4, 2024, reported a maximum of five chests and a level-20 limit. That is a player claim from that date, not a guaranteed current limit. Updates, platform differences, or later balance changes can make it inaccurate. Treat the in-game upgrade screen as authoritative for your account.
Add Trunks when available
A third-party beginner guide recommends crafting Trunks early as an additional storage investment. The practical decision is simple: if your bottleneck is general stored goods and the recipe is available, compare the resource cost of a Trunk with the cost of the next chest upgrade. Trunks do not solve a per-type component stack cap, so they should not be your first purchase when only runestones or one material category is full.
Use racks as specialized capacity
Racks effectively expand capacity for the equipment categories they accept. They are not a substitute for chests because they cannot absorb arbitrary components, runestones, or incompatible gear. Plan rack placement around the equipment you sell frequently, then keep chest space for goods that cannot be displayed.

Why an empty shelf may not help
The phrase “It says my inventory is full but I have shelf spaces” describes a category mismatch. A display has a physical-looking empty slot, but the game checks eligibility rules rather than visual emptiness. A weapon rack may accept weapons but reject armor, materials, or a locked item. Other displays follow their own category rules.

Market listings as a temporary workaround
Players report that putting an item into an active Market slot can temporarily remove it from shop inventory, creating room for another item. Retrieving the item or canceling the listing returns it to storage. This behavior is community-reported rather than an official storage guide, so verify the current listing interface and terms before depending on it.

The central risk is sale: a live listing may be purchased while you are using it as temporary storage. Check the asking price, quantity, and duration, and assume the item could leave your account. Never park a rare component or valuable piece of equipment there unless you are willing to lose it at the listed terms. Market slots are best viewed as an emergency buffer while you craft, sell, or upgrade—not as additional permanent inventory.

Version 26.10.0 release notes dated October 2, 2026 describe the Pharoway Caravan as a temporary event in which players “place, rotate and stack items” inside a limited caravan area. The event was listed to start on October 8, 2026. That packing area is a separate event puzzle; arranging objects there does not expand the persistent chests, racks, or component stacks in your regular shop.

If it appears in the normal shop, return to the category diagnosis above. An event-space shortage and a shop-inventory shortage can occur at the same time but require different actions.

Quest loot and an important historical warning
Official version 3.5.0 notes from March 2020 said quest loot that exceeded inventory capacity could be converted to gold at an unfavorable ratio, including equipment and component drops. That is historical behavior, not a confirmed rule for the current build. Before starting a valuable quest with little room, inspect the current quest-result screen or newer official notes. Do not assume that today’s game will preserve, discard, or convert overflow in the same way described in the 2020 notes.
A practical decision path
- Identify the item class. Equipment suggests chest or rack handling; a component or runestone suggests stack handling.
- Try the least destructive immediate fix. Craft or consume the exact surplus before selling anything valuable.
- For equipment, test eligibility. Unlock the item if appropriate and manually stock it on a compatible rack.
- Remove deliberate surplus. Sell materials, runestones, or equipment you have confirmed you will not need.
- Use the Market only for short-term pressure. Recheck the listing because another player may buy it.
- Upgrade the correct permanent capacity. Use chest upgrades or Trunks for general storage and racks for eligible equipment.
- Recheck the warning. If it remains after clearing one category, inspect another category rather than repeating the same action. A full component stack can coexist with available chest space.
What cannot be stated as a current universal number
There is no verified, current official table in the available documentation for total chest capacity, the maximum level of every chest, the exact capacity added by each rack level, or the present behavior of every Market and quest-overflow case. Old player posts and historical patch notes are useful clues, but they should not override the numbers and messages shown by your current game client.
For reliable troubleshooting, record the item category, the exact warning, the chest screen’s displayed capacity, and whether a manual rack move succeeds. Those observations tell you which limit you actually hit and prevent spending resources on storage that cannot accept the blocked item.
