When Riven Slivers do not appear in Warframe, the usual explanation is not a broken account: the enemy or reward was not eligible, or the drop roll failed. Eximus Slivers require level-30-or-higher Eximus enemies, and even eligible kills only have a chance to produce one. Requiem Relics and Steel Path Railjack Eximus provide additional routes, but older guides can be misleading because the Requiem relic pool changed in Update 42.
Why an eligible-looking kill can produce nothing
Riven Slivers are chance-based resources. Seeing an Eximus unit does not guarantee a Sliver, and finishing a mission does not guarantee that one of its enemies rolled the drop. Three checks explain most unsuccessful runs:
- The enemy must actually be an Eximus unit that meets the level requirement.
- The level requirement is checked per enemy, not once for the mission.
- The drop chance can fail even when every requirement is satisfied.
The official Veilbreaker: Update 32 notes state that Riven Slivers only have a chance to drop from Eximus enemies at level 30 and above. Therefore, a low-level Eximus mission can give zero Slivers every time without indicating a bug.
This also explains why a mission that felt productive can still produce an empty result. A squad may kill many elite-looking units, but only qualifying Eximus kills create the relevant opportunities. A reward screen showing no Sliver does not reveal whether the problem was an ineligible enemy or an unsuccessful chance roll, so checking the level and enemy type is more useful than simply repeating the same mission.

Current Riven Sliver sources
Digital Extremes identifies Eximus enemies and Requiem Relics as common sources in the official Mods Guide. A later update adds a specific Railjack source. These routes differ in what you must do and in how much of their drop system is documented.
| Source | What must qualify | Published chance | What the source says |
|---|---|---|---|
| Regular Eximus | Eximus enemy, level 30 or higher | 2% per eligible Eximus in Update 32 | Update 32 changed the listed rate from 0.5% to 2%. |
| Steel Path Eximus | Eximus enemy, level 30 or higher, in Steel Path | 2% per eligible Eximus in Update 32 | Update 32 changed the listed rate from 1% to 2%. |
| Requiem Relics | Open a currently available Requiem Relic that can reward Slivers | Not stated in the Mods Guide | Requiem Relics are listed as another source, but the guide does not provide a comparable percentage. |
| Steel Path Railjack Eximus | Eximus enemy in Steel Path Railjack | Not stated in Update 43 | Update 43 specifically adds this as a chance-based source. |
The two 2% figures are developer-published drop rates from Update 32, not a guarantee per mission or squad. The Railjack and relic passages establish availability but do not support a speed ranking between those methods.
Eximus farming: the level gate and the 2% roll
Verify the enemy level
Before changing your build or mission, inspect the level of the Eximus enemies you are killing. Only level 30 and higher qualify under Update 32. An Eximus below that threshold has no Riven Sliver chance under the cited rule, even if it has the same visual effects or name as an eligible unit elsewhere.
Recommended Free Tools
Mission level and enemy level are practical checks, not assumptions. If the node or activity starts below level 30, its Eximus units may remain below the gate. Conversely, a long mission can scale or spawn enemies differently, so record the level of the actual Eximus you defeated rather than relying only on the mission name.
Understand what 2% means
For regular and Steel Path Eximus, Update 32 lists a 2% chance for each qualifying enemy. That is an independent opportunity: a group of eligible kills can produce one Sliver, several, or none. A run with no drop is therefore compatible with the published rate. More kills create more opportunities, but they do not turn any individual kill into a guaranteed reward.
The update also records the changes that produced those figures: regular Eximus rose from a listed 0.5% chance to 2%, while Steel Path Eximus rose from 1% to 2%. Those are historical patch-note comparisons explaining the current figures in that update, not a promise that every later version keeps exactly the same table. If a later official update changes the values, the later rule controls.
Check the mode rather than assuming Steel Path is better
Steel Path Eximus and regular Eximus both have a 2% rate in the Update 32 notes. Steel Path can change the number and durability of enemies you encounter, but the cited figures do not establish that it is faster for every player. Choose a mission you can clear reliably while keeping the enemies at or above level 30.

Requiem Relics changed in Update 42
Advice written before the current relic revision may tell you to farm Requiem I, II, III or IV. That advice is outdated for the drop tables described in Update 42: The Shadowgrapher. Digital Extremes removed Requiem I–IV from drop tables and introduced Requiem Eterna instead.

What to do with an old guide
- Identify which relic name the guide recommends.
- Check whether it is one of the retired I–IV relics.
- Use the current Requiem Eterna system or another currently listed source instead of expecting a retired relic to drop normally.
Update 42 also moved retired Requiem Relics into Palladino’s exchange inventory for Slivers. Consequently, an old guide can be correct about the historical existence of a relic while being wrong about how you obtain it now. The Mods Guide still names Requiem Relics as a Sliver route, but the exact reward odds are not published in that guide, so do not assume a specific percentage from an unofficial table unless it matches the current game data.
Relic advice therefore needs two separate checks: whether the relic type is still in ordinary drop tables and whether the opened relic can currently award Slivers. A player can follow the opening steps correctly and still see no Sliver because the expected relic was retired, the reward roll failed, or the guide described a different version of the system.

1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsSteel Path Railjack is an additional route
Jade Shadows: Constellations (Update 43) says that Eximus enemies in Steel Path Railjack have a chance to drop Riven Slivers as well as Steel Essence. This is separate from the general Steel Path Eximus entry in Update 32: the update calls out the Railjack environment specifically.
The Update 43 passage does not give a numeric Sliver rate. Treat Railjack as an available chance-based option, not as a proven replacement for ordinary missions. If a Railjack run produces no Sliver, that result alone does not contradict the update because the wording promises only a chance.
Make sure the activity is actually Steel Path Railjack. The cited wording does not say that every Railjack Eximus, regardless of mode, qualifies. If you are testing this route, note the mode, the Eximus level and the number of qualifying enemies defeated so that a missing drop can be distinguished from an ineligible encounter.
How to choose between the routes
There is no supported universal answer that one method is fastest. Eximus farming gives a published per-enemy figure, but it requires enough level-30-or-higher Eximus spawns. Relic opening is a reward-based route whose guide entry does not state a comparable percentage, and the available relic pool changed in Update 42. Steel Path Railjack is explicitly supported by Update 43, but that passage also omits a numeric rate.
Use regular or Steel Path Eximus when you want to track individual qualifying kills and apply the documented 2% figure. Use a currently available Requiem Relic when you already have relics and prefer opening rewards, while checking that the relic is not one of the retired I–IV types. Consider Steel Path Railjack when that mode is accessible and you want its Eximus and Steel Essence rewards, but do not assume its Sliver rate from the ordinary Steel Path figure.
A practical troubleshooting checklist
Use this sequence to determine whether your run offered a real opportunity:
- Confirm the enemy type. The target must be Eximus, not simply a heavily armored or elite enemy.
- Confirm the level. Read the enemy level and make sure it is at least 30. If the mission spawns lower-level Eximus, those kills do not meet the published gate.
- Count opportunities, not missions. Record how many qualifying Eximus you actually defeated. A mission completion screen cannot substitute for eligible enemy kills.
- Allow for failed rolls. Even a long run can end with zero Slivers because the 2% Eximus chance is applied per eligible enemy.
- For relic farming, verify the relic version. Do not rely on a pre-Update-42 list that treats Requiem I–IV as current drop-table items.
- For Railjack, select Steel Path. The Update 43 source refers specifically to Steel Path Railjack Eximus, not every Railjack Eximus encounter.
- Check for a later patch. Drop tables and reward rules can change. Compare your game version with current official patch notes or in-game information before concluding that a documented route has been removed.
For a useful test, write down the node, mode, enemy levels, Eximus count, relic name if applicable and whether the result appeared in your inventory. This record prevents a common mistake: counting all enemies or all completed missions as if each one had the same Sliver eligibility.

Where Palladino fits in
Palladino in Iron Wake is the exchange vendor, not a source of random enemy drops. The official Mods Guide describes a weekly Riven purchase for Slivers. Update 42 expanded her inventory to include retired Requiem Relics and other offerings, so the amount of Slivers you have can be used for more than the original Riven exchange.

A missing vendor option is a separate access or inventory question, not proof that an Eximus drop should have occurred.
Why some older explanations conflict
Slivers were introduced with the Requiem system in Update 26: The Old Blood. That historical update described Slivers in Requiem Relics and Palladino’s exchange. It also contained older Kuva Siphon odds. Those figures belong to the historical system and should not be treated as current drop rates without a matching modern update.
The safest way to reconcile conflicting posts is to date the claim. Update 32 supplies the level-30 gate and 2% Eximus figures; Update 42 changes the relic pool and Palladino’s wares; Update 43 adds Steel Path Railjack Eximus. A guide that predates one of those changes may describe a system that no longer exists in the same form.
When to consider a support issue
The available information cannot diagnose an individual account from the number of missions alone. Before reporting a suspected bug, note the mission and mode, the level and type of each Eximus you killed, whether you opened a Requiem Relic, and whether the run was Steel Path Railjack. If those details show that you repeatedly met a documented eligibility condition and the game still never records a reward, provide that evidence through the game’s official support channel. A single unsuccessful eligible kill is expected behavior under a chance drop.

Do not report a bug solely because a low-level Eximus failed to drop a Sliver, an old relic guide no longer matches the drop table, or one eligible enemy produced nothing. Those outcomes are explained by the published level gate, the retired relic types and the chance-based wording. Support becomes more appropriate only after the mode, level, enemy type and reward history are clearly documented.

Do Eximus enemies have to be level 30?
Yes. Update 32 states that Riven Slivers only have a chance to drop from Eximus enemies at level 30 and over. Lower-level Eximus do not meet that published eligibility condition.
Is the Eximus drop guaranteed on Steel Path?
No. Update 32 lists a 2% chance for Steel Path Eximus, the same listed chance as regular Eximus. Steel Path does not turn the roll into a guaranteed mission reward.
Can I still farm Requiem I, II, III or IV for Slivers?
Update 42 removed those four Requiem relic types from drop tables and introduced Requiem Eterna. Retired relics were moved to Palladino’s Sliver exchange, so older farming instructions may no longer apply.

Do Requiem Relics still matter for Riven Slivers?
The official Mods Guide still identifies Requiem Relics as a Sliver source, but it does not state a reward percentage. Use a currently available relic and verify its version rather than relying on an old relic list.
Can Steel Path Railjack Eximus drop Slivers?
Yes. Update 43 specifically says Steel Path Railjack Eximus have a chance to drop Riven Slivers as well as Steel Essence. The cited passage does not publish a numeric Sliver rate.
Where do I spend Riven Slivers?
Palladino in Iron Wake is the exchange vendor. The Mods Guide describes a weekly Riven purchase, and Update 42 added retired relics and other offerings to her inventory.
Bottom line
Start by checking level and eligibility, then account for the published chance rather than expecting a guaranteed mission reward. Use current Requiem information after the Update 42 relic changes, or try Steel Path Railjack Eximus as the Update 43 route. Palladino is where Slivers are spent in Iron Wake; she is not evidence that an eligible enemy should have dropped one.

Why did my level-30 Eximus still drop nothing?
Level 30 is an eligibility gate, not a guarantee. Update 32 lists a 2% chance per qualifying regular or Steel Path Eximus, so an eligible kill can still fail its roll.
Are old Requiem Relic farming guides still accurate?
Not necessarily. Update 42 removed Requiem I–IV from drop tables and introduced Requiem Eterna. Check the relic name and current game version before following an older guide.
Is Steel Path Railjack a guaranteed Sliver farm?
No. Update 43 says Steel Path Railjack Eximus have a chance to drop Riven Slivers, but it does not publish a guaranteed reward or a numeric rate.
Can Palladino give me Slivers?
Palladino is the exchange vendor who accepts Slivers. Her inventory includes a weekly Riven purchase and, after Update 42, retired relics and other offerings; she is not the enemy-drop source.
The Bottom Line
Check for level-30-or-higher Eximus, remember that the listed Eximus chance is only 2% per eligible enemy, and verify that any Requiem advice reflects Update 42. Steel Path Railjack Eximus is another chance-based route, while Palladino in Iron Wake is where Slivers are spent.
