An Amazon deposit is a settlement for a period of account activity, not a separate payment for each order. Its amount can include sales, fees, refunds, other charges or credits, balance adjustments, and reserves; if currency conversion applies, the final bank credit also reflects the transfer’s actual exchange rate and any stated conversion fee. Reconcile the settlement first, then check the conversion.
Start with the settlement period, not an individual order
Amazon’s payment reports show transactions grouped into a settlement period. The statement’s beginning balance, sales, expenses, refunds, withheld reserve, and ending disbursement all contribute to what reaches the bank. That is why a daily sales total—or the proceeds from one order—will not necessarily equal a bank credit.
In Seller Central, open Payments and find the statement or settlement period associated with the transfer. The Statement View shows the expected settlement date and amount, and you can download the posted settlement report. Amazon describes these reports as a detailed breakdown of transactions during a settlement period in its Payments reports help.

Amazon Seller University says seller accounts are generally settled every two weeks, but the statement tied to your transfer—not a calendar estimate—is the relevant record for reconciling a particular deposit. Account and transfer circumstances can affect timing.

Reconcile the statement before investigating exchange rates
Download the report for the statement period and compare its components with the statement total. Amazon documents XML, tab-delimited Flat File, and Flat File V2 report downloads. For FBA sellers, Flat File V2 with the Settlement Summary Template can provide a simplified by-order view. Available reports and labels may vary by marketplace or account.
- Identify the transfer. In Payments, match the bank credit to the statement’s expected settlement date and amount. Use the posted settlement report for the period that generated the transfer.
- Check order-level activity. In Transaction View, search by order number and review the transaction type and date range. Select the linked total for more granular fee details. Downloaded reports contain more order-level charge and refund detail than the on-screen view. See Amazon’s Transaction View payment report guidance.
- Include non-order entries. Review refunds, service fees, shipping services, other Amazon-initiated charges or credits, reserve balances, and miscellaneous balance adjustments. Examples in Amazon’s guidance include FBA storage and inbound transportation charges, refund reimbursements, reserves, and subscriptions.
- Check the closing amount. Account for the opening balance and all listed activity, including any withheld reserve, before comparing the report’s final disbursement with the bank credit. Gross sales and the amount disbursed are different stages of the calculation.
Amazon’s Download payment reports help describes the available report formats. Keep the settlement currency and receiving bank currency visible in your reconciliation; a converted bank credit is not directly comparable to a source-currency statement amount.

Why the FX amount can differ from a headline rate
If you use Amazon Currency Converter for Sellers (ACCS), the relevant rate is the one applied to the completed transfer, not a generic mid-market or search-engine quote. Amazon’s ACCS terms define the applicable rate by reference to the third-party provider’s rate when Amazon initiates the disbursement or reverse transaction, incorporating fees and charges for the selected currency. They also say rates fluctuate and can differ from transfer to transfer; an estimate shown while a disbursement is pending may differ from the completed rate.

Amazon’s ACCS help explains that many published digital, print, or search rates refer to interbank rates, while Amazon uses bank service providers. It says the completed-payment breakdown can show the fee percentage, fee collected in local currency, and exchange rate applied. Check those completed-transfer details rather than treating a pending estimate as final.

For an apples-to-apples comparison, use the eligible source-currency amount, the completed transfer’s applied rate, any separately identified conversion fee, and the resulting bank-currency amount. Amazon says disbursements are typically made in the local currency of the bank’s country or region, subject to supported options and exceptions; the payment setup available to you depends on your marketplace and account.
If the statement matches but the bank deposit does not
Compare the report’s final disbursement with the bank credit and check the transfer status. Seller University says a payout marked “Done” can take up to five business days to appear in the bank. If more than five business days have passed since initiation, Amazon says a settlement report may include an ACH Trace ID that the bank can use to investigate the deposit. Availability of trace information depends on the transfer and report.

Amazon’s Seller University payment-report overview covers the report workflow and payout timing. If the statement itself does not explain the amount, use the transaction details and account-specific disbursement record; a public help page cannot establish the exact deposit for an account without those records.

- The statement period, expected settlement date, and statement currency.
- The downloaded settlement report, including opening balance, sales, fees, refunds, credits, reserves, adjustments, and final disbursement.
- The bank’s posted amount and currency, plus the transfer status.
- For ACCS transfers, the completed payment’s actual rate and any displayed conversion fee.
Amazon’s payment-method and converter options can vary by receiving-bank location and account. Its payment methods and currency-converter guidance describes those options. Compare any alternatives using the rates and fees applicable to your own transfers; a general rate comparison alone does not establish which setup will cost less.
