TiVo is owned by Xperi Inc.; the operating company named in Xperi’s current announcement is TiVo Platform Technologies LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary. Xperi is publicly traded on the NYSE under the ticker XPER. Adeia is not TiVo’s current parent: it is the former parent company that retained the IP licensing business after a 2022 separation.
Why TiVo’s ownership history can be confusing
TiVo and Xperi completed an all-stock merger on June 1, 2020. In October 2022, Xperi Holding separated its product business into the publicly traded Xperi Inc. The former parent became Adeia Inc. and retained the IP licensing business. TiVo is part of the product-company side now represented by Xperi Inc.
That sequence explains why older articles may mention Xperi Holding or Adeia when discussing TiVo. For current ownership, Xperi Inc. is the relevant parent.
What TiVo does today
TiVo is still an active brand, but its business now extends beyond its familiar DVR heritage. Xperi positions TiVo OS as a smart-TV operating system licensed to television manufacturers. It launched with Vestel in 2023, and Xperi’s FY2025 report describes revenue from advertising impressions, subscription and pay-TV service revenue shares or bounties, and viewership-data licensing.

Xperi’s FY2025 report said TiVo One had more than five million monthly active users as of December 31, 2025, an increase of more than 250% from December 31, 2024. This is a company-reported metric tied to those dates, not an independently audited audience estimate. The same report said TiVo had ten smart-TV companies under contract, including three U.S.-market TV OEMs; that count describes the filing period, not a live current total. Xperi’s FY2025 report.
Smart TVs powered by TiVo OS
A current example is an Element smart TV powered by TiVo OS. On September 17, 2026, Xperi announced 50-inch and 65-inch 4K versions and said they were available through Amazon.com, Walmart.com, BestBuy.com, Target.com, and BrandsMart. The announcement does not give model numbers, prices, or detailed specifications, so check a retailer’s current listing for those details. Xperi’s September 17, 2026 announcement.

TiVo OS is also part of a distribution partnership with Viasat. In a June 16, 2026 announcement, Viasat described plans to use the operating system to bring satellite-delivered content to large-screen streaming experiences worldwide. This illustrates that TiVo’s current role includes platform licensing and partnerships, not only consumer DVR products. Viasat’s announcement.

Does this mean TiVo DVRs are gone?
No conclusion about every legacy DVR follows from TiVo’s current ownership or smart-TV strategy. The cited company materials do not establish current inventory, subscription terms, replacement-part compatibility, or end-of-life support for specific older DVR models. TiVo’s official features page lists TiVo DVR Online and support resources, but that listing alone does not confirm the current availability or support status of any particular device.
