VOXX acquired Klipsch Group in 2011, but VOXX is no longer the top-level parent: Gentex completed its acquisition of VOXX on April 1, 2025. The documented chain is Klipsch within VOXX’s Premium Audio Company business, with VOXX now a wholly owned Gentex subsidiary.
How Klipsch became part of VOXX
VOXX’s 2013 Form 10-K says its wholly owned subsidiary Soundtech acquired all issued and outstanding shares of Klipsch Group and its worldwide subsidiaries on March 1, 2011. Klipsch’s own timeline describes the result as Klipsch Group becoming a wholly owned subsidiary of Audiovox Corporation, which changed its name to VOXX International.
The transaction figures differ across disclosures. VOXX’s 2013 filing reports a total purchase price of $169.6 million, including contingent consideration and related transaction fees and expenses. Gentex closed its acquisition of VOXX on April 1, 2025. Its announcement said the deal included VOXX’s Premium Audio Company and identified Klipsch among its brands. Gentex’s 2026 Form 10-K confirms that VOXX became a wholly owned Gentex subsidiary when the transaction closed. Read together, those records place Klipsch within VOXX’s Premium Audio Company business and Gentex above VOXX in the documented ownership chain. Ownership timeline
- March 1, 2011: VOXX subsidiary Soundtech acquired Klipsch Group and its worldwide subsidiaries, according to VOXX’s SEC filing.
- After the acquisition: Klipsch described itself as a wholly owned subsidiary of Audiovox, which changed its name to VOXX International.
- April 1, 2025: Gentex closed its acquisition of VOXX, including Premium Audio Company and the Klipsch brand.

What “VOXX owns Klipsch” means
It is accurate as a description of Klipsch’s ownership history under VOXX, but incomplete as a current parent-company answer. The latest records cited here show Gentex above VOXX after the 2025 acquisition. They identify Klipsch as a Premium Audio Company brand included in that transaction; they do not describe a separate direct acquisition of Klipsch by Gentex.
