No YouTube TV add-on is worth buying for everyone. It makes sense when you’ll use its specific channels or features often enough to justify the recurring charge—and when its access, device and cancellation terms fit your needs. Check the price shown in your YouTube TV Membership or checkout screen before subscribing: prices and offers can change.
How to decide whether an add-on is worth it
Start with the benefit you actually want, then check its price, how you’ll access it and how long you’ll need it. YouTube TV lists its main plan at $82.99 plus tax per month on its signup help page, but your total depends on your plan and current offers. Add the current add-on price to your own plan cost rather than treating any example total as universal. YouTube TV’s signup help page has plan details.
- Content or feature: Will you watch the specific channels, out-of-market games, selected 4K programs or added Spanish-language networks?
- Total cost: Compare the add-on’s current price with subscribing to another plan or service separately.
- Access: Check whether you need an active YouTube TV plan and whether viewing takes place in YouTube TV or another service’s app.
- Duration: For seasonal sports, confirm the commitment and cancellation rules before paying.
YouTube TV says an active plan is required for 4K Plus, NFL RedZone with Sports Plus, Entertainment Plus, NFL Sunday Ticket as an add-on and Spanish Plus. Some offerings may also be available separately as YouTube Primetime Channels. YouTube TV’s add-on overview describes eligibility.
4K Plus: selected 4K shows, more home streams and offline viewing
4K Plus may suit a household that wants one or more of its features: 4K playback for selected live and on-demand programs, unlimited concurrent streams on the home Wi-Fi network, or offline viewing of eligible DVR recordings in the mobile app. It does not make all YouTube TV programming available in 4K. YouTube TV says to search for “4K” or look for the 4K icon to find available programs. Its help page directs subscribers to account settings for the current add-on price, which varies. YouTube TV’s 4K Plus guidance has feature and compatibility details.
#1 Best Overall
- The Google TV Streamer (4K) delivers your favorite entertainment quickly, easily, and personalized to you[1,2]
- HDMI 2.1 cable required (sold separately)
- See movies and TV shows from all your services right from your home screen[2]; and find new things to watch with tailored recommendations for everyone in your home based on their interests and viewing habits
- Watch live TV and access over 800 free channels from Pluto TV, Tubi, and more[3]; if you find an interesting show or movie on your TV, mobile app, or Google search, you can easily add it to your watchlist, so it’s ready when you are[2]
- Up to 4K HDR with Dolby Vision delivers captivating, true-to-life detail[4]; and you can connect speakers that support Dolby Atmos for more immersive 3D sound
For 4K playback, YouTube TV recommends a download speed of at least 25 Mbps and compatible TV or streaming hardware. Its listed device categories include 4K Roku streaming devices, Google TV Streamer, Chromecast with Google TV, Apple TV 4K, Fire TV Stick 4K and Nvidia Shield. A compatible device is a prerequisite, not a guarantee that a particular program is offered in 4K. YouTube TV says a program may play at lower quality if the device or connection does not meet requirements.
Unlimited at-home streaming uses the YouTube TV app and may not be available on some devices or in some regions. If your hardware lacks 4K support, a compatible 4K streaming device may be needed—but buying one does not include 4K Plus. If you rarely watch the selected 4K programs and do not need extra home streams or mobile downloads, the add-on may offer little value.

NFL RedZone with Sports Plus: a monthly channel bundle
YouTube TV lists NFL RedZone with Sports Plus at $10.99 per month. That provider-listed price may change, so confirm it in your account before signing up. The bundle includes NFL RedZone, beIN SPORTS and beIN SPORTS XTRA, Billiard TV, FanDuel TV, Fight Network, FOX Soccer Plus, Impact Wrestling, RACER Network, Outside, Overtime, PlayersTV, PokerGO+, SportsGrid, Stadium, Tennis Channel, VSiN and Willow. YouTube TV says these channels are not available as individual add-ons. The package is most compelling if you want RedZone or several of its included channels—not if you’re paying for only one of the other channels. YouTube TV’s add-on information lists the package.
NFL Sunday Ticket: out-of-market Sunday afternoon games
NFL Sunday Ticket is separate from Sports Plus with NFL RedZone. It covers regular-season Sunday afternoon games on CBS and FOX that are not broadcast in your local area. It does not include local games, national broadcasts such as Sunday Night Football or Monday Night Football, or postseason games. Your main YouTube TV or Sports plan supplies local and national NFL broadcasts; Sunday Ticket expands coverage to out-of-market Sunday afternoon games. It is available as an add-on to YouTube TV or as a standalone YouTube Primetime Channel. YouTube TV’s Sunday Ticket page describes the package.

Pricing is seasonal and offer-dependent; the official page directs customers to current offers rather than setting one universal rate. YouTube TV describes season-pass and month-to-month options. Month-to-month subscribers may cancel for later billing periods. A season pass cannot be canceled or refunded for the current season, although renewal for a future season can be canceled. Check the offer and commitment before buying. See YouTube TV’s current Sunday Ticket information.
Spanish Plus or the standalone Spanish Plan?
Spanish Plus adds 25+ Spanish-language networks to an existing YouTube TV plan. The Spanish Plan is a separate option for people who do not have the main plan; YouTube TV lists 28+ Spanish-language networks for $24.99 plus tax per month. The provider’s help page does not state a Spanish Plus price, so check your Membership screen. Compare the actual lineups and total costs against the channels and language options your household needs. YouTube TV’s add-on information distinguishes the options.

Entertainment Plus: HBO Max, STARZ and Paramount+ with SHOWTIME
Entertainment Plus combines HBO Max, STARZ and Paramount+ with SHOWTIME for a provider-listed $29.99 per month, described by YouTube TV as a discounted rate. Whether that bundle is useful depends on the programs you want and where you expect to watch them. YouTube TV says the bundle includes direct website and app access for HBO Max, but not for the other two services. It also notes that Paramount+ with SHOWTIME has limited program availability on YouTube TV, including for Entertainment Plus subscribers, and that some programs may arrive later in the YouTube TV Library. Check the current price and access details against your intended viewing. YouTube TV’s bundle guidance explains its included services and access limits.
