There is no established official, universal WARDOGS weapon tier list. Community rankings disagree, and their results depend on class, range, armor, ammunition, and the build being assessed. In the September 22, 2026 snapshot from WardogsBuild, the FAL and Super-45 are S tier; WardogsDB’s separate assault-rifle board puts the FAL and T-21 in S tier. Treat these as dated community opinions—not a definitive ranking for every fight.
What the available WARDOGS tier lists say
The two snapshots offer useful reference points, but they do not rank the same set of weapons on the same basis.
| Community source and snapshot | Recorded placements | What to keep in mind |
|---|---|---|
| WardogsBuild, updated September 22, 2026 | FAL and Super-45: S tier. Galil, M4, SVD, BMR-308, AMP-9, Mosin-Nagant, and SV98 appear in the visible A-tier section. | The publisher describes this as its reading of the Early Access meta, cross-checked against community testing and numbers. It is a snapshot, not an official ranking. WardogsBuild tier list |
| WardogsDB, observed October 8, 2026 | On its assault-rifle board: FAL and T-21 in S, M4 in A, AK74 in B. A-91, Bushmaster M17S, Galil, and KH-2002 are marked “Needs data.” | The board records 34 weapons across nine classes, but only 12 placed records; it is not a complete ranking. WardogsDB tier list |
The FAL is the only weapon in these snapshots that both lists place at the top of a ranking. That makes it a strong candidate to investigate, not proof that it is best across all ranges, armor, and match situations. The differing Super-45 and T-21 placements also show why a single community list should not be treated as settled consensus.
How to choose a gun for your fight
“Best” depends on the job you need a weapon to do. Compare weapons under conditions that resemble your intended engagement instead of relying on a tier label without context.
#1 Best Overall
- Start with class and role. An assault rifle, shotgun, sniper, or launcher is built for a different kind of engagement. Compare options within a useful role before ranking unlike classes against each other.
- Set the distance and hit zone. A result for an upper-torso hit at a specified range does not establish performance at another distance or for other hit zones.
- Account for armor and ammunition. A comparison using FMJ against armor may produce a different result from one using AP ammunition or an unarmored target.
- Use one performance measure. Time-to-kill or shots-to-kill can help compare weapons, but only when the distance, hit zone, armor, and ammunition assumptions match.
- Include cost and access when they matter. A weapon’s price and unlock stage can affect whether a nominally strong option is practical for your progression or budget.
- Demand comparable handling evidence. Recoil and handling can matter in practice, but rankings should not present them as measured advantages unless the underlying comparison supports that claim.
One community page calculates class leaders using FMJ to the upper torso at 50 m against Level 2 armor. Those are that page’s test assumptions, not an official WARDOGS standard. See wardo.gs.
What the community weapon roster covers
WardogsDB records 34 weapons across nine classes. A separate WARDOGS Companion database describes 35 weapons observed across Beta 1 and captured community records. The Companion calls its information a pre-release snapshot and says it is not official, so the counts should not be read as a confirmed final roster. WARDOGS Companion weapon database.
| Class | Weapons named in the WardogsDB snapshot |
|---|---|
| Assault rifles | A-91, AK74, Bushmaster M17S, FAL, Galil, KH-2002, M4, T-21 |
| Bow | Compound Bow |
| Launchers | 9K333 Verba, MAAWS, MGL-40, RPG-7 |
| LMGs | M249 SAW, PKM |
| Marksman rifles | BMR-308, SKS, SVD |
| Pistols | Deagle, GGX 17, GGX 18, Judge, M1911 |
| Shotguns | M500, MP43 |
| SMGs | AMP-9, MP5, PP-19 Vityaz, Super-45 |
| Snipers | AMR 50, MK22, Mosin Nagant, Scout Rifle TD, SV98 |
This is a record of names on a community page, not confirmation that every weapon is currently obtainable or unchanged. For the same reason, a missing or “Needs data” entry should not be mistaken for evidence that a weapon is weak.
Why rankings can change
WARDOGS was reported as an Early Access game in September 2026. Balance, prices, unlock progression, and weapon availability can change with updates, making rankings especially sensitive to the version and date they describe. PCGamesN’s September 2026 Early Access coverage.
Rank #3
The available rankings are community material; the reviewed sources do not establish an official publisher-issued all-guns tier list or weapon-stat table. One list’s weapon count, tier labels, or calculations therefore should not be combined with another source as if they were measured in a shared test.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.A practical way to read a WARDOGS tier list
- Check the date and game build. Prefer a ranking that identifies when it was updated, especially after a balance change.
- Check what is being ranked. A class-specific board cannot establish the best weapon across every class.
- Read the test conditions. Look for range, hit zone, armor, ammunition, and the performance measure.
- Check completeness. Distinguish a placed weapon from one marked as lacking data; an incomplete board cannot support a full class order.
- Match the ranking to your constraints. Consider weapon price and unlock access alongside performance if those affect your choice.
With those checks, the FAL is the clearest recurring top assault-rifle pick in the cited snapshots. The sources do not establish a comparable, complete current-build ranking that would settle the best weapon overall.
