For a compact speaker to take outdoors, choose the WONDERBOOM 4; for a larger 360-degree speaker with a stated battery estimate and PartyUp support, consider the BOOM 4; and for a more volume- and bass-oriented option, look at the MEGABOOM 4. Those are three use-case recommendations, not a definitive ranking of the four best Ultimate Ears models: the available evidence does not support naming a fourth winner.
How to choose among Ultimate Ears speakers
Ultimate Ears’ U.S. lineup includes HYPERBOOM, EPICBOOM, EVERBOOM, MEGABOOM 4, BOOM 4, WONDERBOOM 4 and MINIROLL. The three models below have enough model-specific information here to make practical distinctions; the lineup listing alone is not enough to establish a fourth recommendation. Ultimate Ears’ U.S. lineup is the place to check the current range.

WONDERBOOM 4: choose it for portability and outdoor use
The WONDERBOOM 4 is the clearest pick when carrying convenience matters more than getting the largest sound. Ultimate Ears lists 360-degree sound, Outdoor Boost and a podcast EQ mode. Its product page says the speaker has IP67 dust and water protection, floats, and was drop-tested from five feet (1.5 meters). Check the stereo-pairing limits
Ultimate Ears says WONDERBOOM 4’s two-speaker stereo mode does not connect with WONDERBOOM 1 or 2, BOOM, MEGABOOM or HYPERBOOM. If you are buying a second speaker for stereo, check that it is a supported match rather than assuming that speakers from the same brand pair together. BOOM 4: choose it for a larger 360-degree speaker and PartyUp
BOOM 4 is the middle-ground option in this selection: RTINGS says it can get somewhat louder than WONDERBOOM 4, while Ultimate Ears presents it as a cylindrical, 360-degree portable speaker. Its product page describes it as IP67 rated, waterproof, floatable and drop-proof. These are the maker’s stated attributes; they do not establish resistance to every impact or water exposure.

Understand the battery-life figure
Ultimate Ears advertises up to 15 hours of battery life for BOOM 4. This is a manufacturer estimate, not a comparative independent runtime test. Ultimate Ears says PartyUp supports compatible BOOM, MEGABOOM, EVERBOOM, EPICBOOM and HYPERBOOM speakers. This is a multi-speaker feature and should not be confused with WONDERBOOM 4’s two-speaker stereo mode, which has its own model restrictions. Check the individual product page and compatibility details before buying speakers to use together.

MEGABOOM 4: choose it for a volume- and bass-oriented sound
MEGABOOM 4 is the best-supported choice here for listeners who want more output and bass rather than the smallest speaker. Ultimate Ears describes its sound as loud and 360-degree, with stronger bass than the previous generation. Ultimate Ears’ MEGABOOM 4 product page gives the manufacturer’s product description.
TechRadar’s July 2025 review calls it a suitable option for listeners seeking volume, bass and long battery life, but reports that some busy rock and alternative mixes sounded muddled in the reviewer’s listening. Treat that as a subjective review observation, not a measurement or a guarantee of how the speaker will sound in your setting. TechRadar reports a June 2024 release and USB-C charging. What the evidence does—and does not—say about a fourth pick
EVERBOOM, EPICBOOM, HYPERBOOM and MINIROLL are part of Ultimate Ears’ listed U.S. lineup, but the model-specific evidence available here is insufficient to rank them against one another or recommend one as a fourth winner. Naming one “best” would imply a comparison that has not been established. If one of those models better matches your size or output needs, compare its current manufacturer specifications and compatibility information directly before deciding.
