Some Thrustmaster wheels work on PS5, but compatibility depends on the exact wheel variant and the game. Check both before buying or troubleshooting: a PlayStation version may be supported where an Xbox version from the same product family is not. Thrustmaster’s model and game lists are the best place to verify a particular combination.
How to check whether your Thrustmaster wheel works on PS5
- Identify the exact platform variant. Look at the label or product page, not just the family name. Thrustmaster lists PlayStation versions of the T128 and T248 as PS4/PS5/PC, while listing their Xbox versions separately. Its PlayStation product group also includes the T150, T300, T-GT, and T-GT II. See Thrustmaster’s platform compatibility list and confirm the current entry for your exact edition.
- Check the specific game. A wheel’s console compatibility does not guarantee support in every game. Use Thrustmaster’s support and game settings pages to find the list or mapping for your wheel and title. Lists can change, so verify the game you plan to play rather than relying on an older general list.
- Check whether you are playing a PS5 or PS4 version. Thrustmaster provides game-specific information, including PS4 titles that can be played with the T300 RS GT on PS5. Sony says officially licensed racing wheels work with PS5 games and supported PS4 games on PS5, while noting that some PS4 game functionality or behavior may differ on PS5. Which Thrustmaster models are listed for PlayStation?
Thrustmaster’s compatibility article lists the PlayStation versions of the T128 and T248 as PS4/PS5/PC. It also places the T150, T300, T-GT, and T-GT II in its PlayStation product group. These are examples from the manufacturer’s platform list, not a guarantee that every game supports each wheel. Confirm the exact model variant and the game listing before you purchase or connect a wheel.
Do not assume that an Xbox version will work on a PS5 because a PlayStation version with a similar name is listed. Thrustmaster separates platform variants; use the exact model page and label to distinguish them.

Does the T300 RS work on PS5?
Thrustmaster lists PS5 game examples for the T300 RS, including DiRT 5, F1 2021, Monster Truck Championship, WRC 9, and Wreckfest. Its T300 RS GT page also says the wheel works on PS5 with the PS4-compatible games listed on that page. Treat these titles as examples from the manufacturer’s listing, not a complete or permanently current catalogue; check the current page for the game and wheel variant you intend to use.

Thrustmaster also states on its T300 page: “At stage of publication, PS5 compatibility of the full range has not been yet tested nor endorsed by Sony Interactive Entertainment LLC.” That caveat means the manufacturer’s listed testing should not be read as blanket Sony endorsement of every Thrustmaster wheel.

The T300 RS GT manual gives model-specific setup steps. Other Thrustmaster wheels may use different procedures, so consult the manual for your exact model.

- Before connecting the USB cable, set the base’s USB sliding switch to the appropriate PS5/PS4 position, as directed by the T300 RS GT manual.
- Connect the wheel, then press the wheel’s PS button to use it.
- In most games, the wheel is recognized as a T300 RS. Check the game’s control settings and Thrustmaster’s regularly updated compatibility list if the controls do not behave as expected.
Troubleshoot a Thrustmaster wheel that is not working
- Confirm the exact title and wheel combination. Check Thrustmaster’s game list for the specific model and game, including whether you are playing the PS5 or PS4 version.
- Recheck the platform variant and setup mode. Make sure the wheel is the PlayStation version and follow the connection and mode instructions in its manual. For a T300 RS GT, verify the USB switch position before reconnecting.
- Check firmware if the wheel is supported but still misbehaves. Thrustmaster says current firmware is needed for full operation in compatible games. Its firmware-check process requires a Windows PC because consoles do not provide firmware information. See Thrustmaster’s firmware instructions. A firmware update is a troubleshooting step; it does not make an unsupported wheel compatible.
