Haier’s stated appliance portfolio includes seven brands, not six: Haier, Casarte, Leader, GE Appliances, Fisher & Paykel, AQUA, and CANDY. This guide covers six of them and explains what the ownership record establishes—especially why GE Appliances being part of Haier does not mean Haier owns all of General Electric.
Which appliance brands are in Haier’s portfolio?
Haier Group’s official About Haier overview and Haier Smart Home’s 2024 annual report identify the same seven-brand appliance portfolio: Haier, Casarte, Leader, GE Appliances, Fisher & Paykel, AQUA, and CANDY. The six profiles below are a selection, not a complete list.
Haier identifies refrigerators, washing machines, air conditioners, and kitchen appliances as core categories across its business. The corporate sources establish brand portfolio membership and selected acquisition history; they do not provide a definitive global map of which models or brands are sold in every country.
Six Haier-owned appliance brands
1. GE Appliances
Haier Smart Home’s annual report says it acquired General Electric’s U.S. home appliance business in 2016. That is an appliance-business acquisition, not ownership of General Electric as a whole. The report also describes a U.S. lineup that includes Monogram, Café, GE Profile, GE, Haier, and Hotpoint; these names illustrate the regional lineup, not six additional brands in the seven-brand global cluster.

2. Fisher & Paykel
The annual report says Haier acquired New Zealand company Fisher & Paykel in 2018. It also notes that the business had been entrusted to Haier Group since 2015. The portfolio source identifies Fisher & Paykel as one of the group’s appliance brands.
3. CANDY
Haier Smart Home’s annual report records the acquisition of Italian company Candy in 2019. The current portfolio overview spells the brand name “CANDY”; the annual report uses “Candy.”

4. AQUA
AQUA appears in both the official portfolio overview and the annual report’s list of seven brand clusters. Those sources establish its place in the portfolio but do not state a specific acquisition date, so one should not be inferred from the listing.

5. Casarte
Casarte is listed in Haier’s current portfolio and its annual-report brand cluster. In the report’s China-market example, Casarte is positioned as part of a differentiated lineup serving distinct user segments. That description is market-specific rather than a universal positioning claim.

6. Leader
Leader also appears in the seven-brand portfolio. Haier Smart Home’s China-market example includes Leader alongside Casarte and Haier as part of a segmented, multi-brand approach. The sources do not establish that the same lineup or positioning applies in every country.
Why Haier uses different brands in different markets
Haier Smart Home describes a multi-brand strategy designed around different regional markets and user segments. In China, its example groups Casarte, Haier, and Leader across distinct segments. In the United States, its example includes Monogram, Café, GE Profile, GE, Haier, and Hotpoint. This is why a global portfolio list should not be read as a promise that every brand is available locally or that brand roles are identical across regions.

Haier Group’s 2025 corporate overview says the Haier brand ranked first in global major home appliance sales by brand share for 17 consecutive years, attributing the ranking to Euromonitor International. This is a company-reported, attributed ranking; it is not an independent verification of the underlying dataset.

Yes. Haier Smart Home’s annual report says it acquired General Electric’s U.S. home appliance business in 2016, and GE Appliances is included in the company’s stated appliance-brand portfolio. The distinction matters: the documented transaction concerned GE’s home appliance business, not General Electric as a whole.

What the ownership list does—and does not—tell you
- It confirms portfolio membership: the official overview and annual report list the seven appliance brands in Haier’s cluster.
- It documents selected acquisition history: the annual report gives dates for the GE appliance business, Fisher & Paykel, and Candy transactions.
- It does not rank product quality or reliability: the corporate sources do not provide comparative product testing or consumer reliability data.
- It does not establish local availability: product ranges and brand positioning differ by region, and the cited sources are not a definitive country-by-country availability guide.
