Several retro-styled keyboards connect to a modern PC over USB, Bluetooth, or 2.4 GHz wireless. The substantiated choices here include full-size and 87-key 8BitDo models styled after classic computers, plus AZIO keyboards with a typewriter look. The available product information supports eight distinct models or editions—not ten verified, materially different keyboards—so this guide keeps the shortlist honest rather than padding it with color variants.
Retro keyboards that connect to a PC
“Retro” describes the styling, not a requirement to connect to an original vintage computer. The models below use modern wired or wireless connections. Choose based on layout, connection options, and whether you prefer classic-computer or typewriter styling.
| Keyboard | Layout and style | PC connection and compatibility | Useful distinction |

| 8BitDo Retro Mechanical Keyboard, C64 Edition | 87 keys; Commodore 64-inspired | Bluetooth, 2.4 GHz wireless, or wired USB; Windows 10 (1903) and later | Compact alternative to a full-size layout |

| 8BitDo Retro 87 Mecha BREAK | 87-key collaboration edition | Bluetooth LE 5.0, 2.4 GHz wireless, or wired USB; Windows compatibility | Distinct themed collaboration model |
| AZIO Retro Classic USB | Typewriter-inspired, round mechanical keys | USB; compatible with PC/Windows | Clicky key design |
| AZIO Retro Classic Bluetooth | Typewriter-inspired, round mechanical keys | Bluetooth and USB; Mac/PC compatibility | Wireless option in the Retro Classic design |
| AZIO Retro Compact Keyboard | Compact, typewriter-inspired round keys | Bluetooth and USB; Mac/PC compatibility | Includes a matching palm rest |
The table includes ten listings only by counting the N, Fami, and M editions separately. 8BitDo identifies them as members of its 87-key line, but their separate listings do not establish that they have different internal specifications. Confirm the exact edition and SKU before buying.

Which layout and look fit your setup?
Choose a full-size keyboard for a number pad
The Retro 108 is the clearest fit if you want a full-size layout with a number pad and the flexibility to swap supported switches. Its manufacturer specifies Kailh Box White V2 switches, hot-swap support, and dye-sublimated PBT keycaps. Those specifications describe the product; they do not establish how it feels compared with the other keyboards here.

Choose an 87-key model to save space
The 8BitDo 87-key models omit the full-size footprint, which can make them easier to fit on a desk. The C64 page explicitly documents Windows 10 (1903) and later compatibility and Bluetooth, 2.4 GHz, and wired USB connections. The themed N, Fami, and M editions are listed in the same product line, but verify the exact SKU’s specifications rather than assuming every detail carries over.
Choose AZIO for a typewriter-inspired design
AZIO’s Retro Classic models use round, clicky mechanical keys and typewriter-inspired styling. The USB model is specified for Windows PCs, while the Bluetooth model is listed for Mac and PC and also supports USB. The Retro Compact is the smaller-footprint option and comes with a matching palm rest.

Check connection details before ordering
For a desktop, wired USB avoids relying on a wireless connection. Bluetooth is useful when you want to avoid a cable, while 2.4 GHz wireless is another option on the listed 8BitDo models that document it. Do not assume Bluetooth means a 2.4 GHz receiver is included: confirm the connection method and what comes in the box for the exact product listing.
Quick wins for a faster PC:

- Check current stock, warranty terms, and return conditions with the seller; these can change.
What to expect from the typing experience
These products use different designs and switch descriptions, so specifications alone cannot establish which one will feel best to you. PC Gamer’s review of the 8BitDo C64 model rated it 83%, describing its keys as satisfying and its retro aesthetic positively, while also calling it loud and niche. That is PC Gamer’s assessment, not a hands-on finding for every model in this list.

Availability and model-count caveat
8BitDo describes the Saturn S Edition as a limited edition with 1,994 units available worldwide. That is the manufacturer’s stated quantity, not confirmation that units remain in stock. Check the current listing before treating it as available to buy.
This shortlist covers the models and editions supported by the available product documentation. It does not establish ten materially distinct keyboards: several entries are themed versions of one 87-key line. Treat the edition names as styling choices unless the specific product page confirms a hardware difference.
