The GIGABYTE B450M DS3H (Rev. 1.x) supports DDR4 desktop UDIMM memory, with four DIMM sockets, dual-channel operation, and up to 128 GB of system memory. GIGABYTE lists speeds from 2133 to 3600 MHz; its 3200, 3466, and 3600 MHz entries are marked O.C., so they are not guaranteed plug-and-play speeds for every processor and kit. Check your exact board revision, CPU, and memory kit before buying.
What RAM does the B450M DS3H support?
For the B450M DS3H (Rev. 1.x), GIGABYTE specifies DDR4 memory in unbuffered DIMMs, commonly sold as DDR4 desktop UDIMM kits. The board has four memory sockets and supports dual-channel memory. GIGABYTE lists a maximum system-memory capacity of 128 GB. These are specifications for this board revision, not for every similarly named B450M DS3H model.

“O.C.” is GIGABYTE’s overclocked-speed classification. It does not promise that every CPU, BIOS version, memory kit, or slot configuration will run at that speed. GIGABYTE also lists XMP support, which lets a compatible kit apply its rated profile; using that profile does not guarantee the rated speed on every system. The B450M DS3H Rev. 1.x specifications establish the board-level options, not a guaranteed speed for an unspecified processor and kit.
Will 3200 MHz RAM work?
It may work, but 3200 MHz is marked O.C. on GIGABYTE’s specification page, so treat it as a target to verify rather than a guaranteed default. The processor’s memory controller, BIOS, exact kit, and number of installed modules can affect the speed the system achieves. A kit’s advertised rating alone cannot establish that the complete system will run at that setting.

Before choosing a 3200 MHz kit, check the CPU Support List and the memory support information for your exact board revision and processor family. If the system does not run reliably at the selected profile, return memory settings to a stable supported configuration in BIOS rather than assuming the board or kit is defective.
How to check whether a RAM kit is compatible
- Identify the motherboard precisely. Confirm the model name and revision printed on the board or shown in system information. These specifications apply to B450M DS3H Rev. 1.x; do not assume they apply to the B450M DS3H WIFI or another similarly named model.
- Identify the processor. Use GIGABYTE’s support page and CPU Support List for processor-specific information. Memory operation depends in part on the CPU, not just the motherboard.
- Choose a capacity and module count. Keep the total at or below the board’s stated 128 GB maximum. For a dual-channel configuration, use matched modules and consult the motherboard manual for the recommended sockets; the specification page confirms four sockets and dual-channel architecture but does not, by itself, state a slot-population rule for every configuration.
- Check the exact kit model number. Search the relevant GIGABYTE Memory Support List or QVL for the full identifier, and compare any listed configuration details. A QVL entry is evidence for the configuration shown, not a blanket guarantee for all processors or BIOS versions.
- Set expectations for rated speed. Determine whether the desired speed is one of the O.C. entries and whether reaching it requires enabling XMP. If the exact CPU-and-kit combination is not documented, the final operating speed is not established by the board specification alone.
GIGABYTE’s support page for the B450M DS3H Rev. 1.x links to processor and memory support resources. Its QVLs are organized by processor family, including Raven, Pinnacle, and Picasso documents. Use the list that matches the applicable CPU family and the exact kit identifier.

How to interpret a QVL match
A listed kit and configuration provide useful compatibility evidence for the conditions stated in that document. For example, the Raven QVL includes a Corsair 8 GB module with identifier CM4X8GC3000C15K4-CN ver4.24. That entry illustrates the level of model and revision detail to compare; it is not a current buying recommendation or a guarantee for every CPU. Conversely, a kit missing from a QVL is not thereby proven incompatible.
Does ECC memory work on this board?
GIGABYTE specifies support for ECC unbuffered memory, but says those modules operate in non-ECC mode. Do not choose ECC RAM expecting the B450M DS3H to provide error-correction protection on the basis of that specification. The board’s stated memory type is unbuffered; this is not a basis for assuming registered or buffered DIMMs are supported.
