Choose the Polar Verity Sense for arm-worn comfort, swimming, or recording a workout for later sync. Choose the Polar H10 if you prefer a chest strap, need 5 kHz GymLink, or want Polar’s stated accuracy advantage for hard intervals and rapid changes in effort. These are recommendations based on Polar’s specifications and guidance, not independent comparative testing.
How are Verity Sense and H10 different?
The main difference is how and where each sensor measures heart rate. Verity Sense uses optical sensing on the arm, with an included clip that lets you wear it at the temple on swimming goggles. H10 uses electrical measurement from a chest strap. The right fit is the one you will wear consistently.
| Decision point | Polar Verity Sense | Polar H10 |
|---|---|---|
| Measurement and placement | Optical; arm or temple with swim goggle clip | Electrical; chest strap |
| Accuracy guidance | Polar says it is very close to a chest strap for most steady-state training | Polar says it is more accurate for hard intervals and rapid changes in intensity |
| Water resistance | 50 m | 30 m |
| Bluetooth | BLE; two simultaneous Bluetooth connections | BLE; two simultaneous Bluetooth connections |
| Other wireless connections | ANT+; no GymLink | ANT+ and 5 kHz GymLink |
| Onboard training memory | Up to 600 hours | One session, up to 30 hours |
| Power | Rechargeable; up to 30 hours of training per charge | Replaceable battery; up to 400 hours of operation |
Wireless connection counts, water-resistance figures, memory, and battery life are Polar specifications. Actual performance can depend on use. Neither water-resistance rating is a recommendation for diving. Polar’s sensor comparison and Verity Sense technical specifications provide the product details.
Is Verity Sense as accurate as H10?
Polar says arm-worn optical tracking is very close to a chest strap for most steady-state training, but recommends H10 for hard intervals and rapid changes in intensity because its electrical measurement is more accurate in those conditions. That is Polar’s product guidance; the available information does not establish an independent head-to-head accuracy result.

If your sessions are mainly steady efforts and you value an arm sensor, Verity Sense may be a suitable fit. If your training often includes sharp changes in pace or effort and Polar’s stated accuracy advantage matters to you, choose H10.
Which sensor is better for swimming?
Verity Sense is the clearer swimming choice: Polar recommends it for swimming, includes a goggle clip for temple placement, and rates it for 50 m water resistance. Polar lists H10 at 30 m. The Verity Sense manual describes its rating as suitable for bathing and swimming; neither figure makes the device suitable for diving.

What happens when you train without a phone or watch?
Verity Sense can record training on the sensor, with up to 600 hours of training memory according to Polar, so you can sync and review a session later. H10 stores one training session, up to 30 hours. Verity Sense offers more flexibility if you want to train without carrying a connected device and sync afterward.

Which connections do they support?
Polar lists BLE Bluetooth and ANT+ for both sensors, with two simultaneous Bluetooth connections for each. H10 also supports 5 kHz GymLink for compatible equipment; Verity Sense does not. Polar says ANT+ is supported on H10 with firmware 3.0.35 or newer and on Verity Sense with any firmware version, so check the H10 firmware if ANT+ is important to your setup.
Before buying, confirm that your phone, watch, or training app supports BLE or ANT+. Polar lists iOS 13 or later, or Android 7 or later with Bluetooth 4.0 capability, as minimum mobile requirements. It cautions that Android devices vary in how they handle BLE and other protocols, so a device may not support every feature. Consult Polar’s third-party app compatibility guidance and confirm support with the app or equipment maker.
