The Samsung Galaxy A57 5G is the clearer choice for a published long-term software-upgrade commitment; the Motorola Edge 70 Fusion has a larger battery and a faster-refresh display in the cited variants. There is no single reliable global price difference: prices and Edge 70 Fusion specifications depend on market and configuration, so compare locally available versions at the same storage tier.

Which phone is better for your priorities?
Choose the Galaxy A57 if software support is central
Samsung advertises up to six generations of Android OS and One UI upgrades and up to six years of security updates for supported Galaxy devices in this launch family. Samsung notes that availability and timing can vary by model and market. That is a stated OS-upgrade commitment as well as a security-update period.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsConsider the Edge 70 Fusion for battery capacity and display refresh rate
The cited Motorola variants list a 7,000 mAh battery and a display capable of up to 144 Hz, compared with the A57’s 5,000 mAh typical battery and up-to-120 Hz display. Those manufacturer specifications do not establish how long either phone lasts in matched real-world use, or how quickly it charges in every situation.

Compare the exact regional model before choosing on performance
The Edge 70 Fusion name does not identify one universal chipset: Motorola lists a Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 for its US support variant and a Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 for Japan. The cited Samsung announcement does not specify the A57 chipset, so it does not support a direct processor-performance verdict. Confirm the locally sold model and its RAM and storage before comparing.
How do their prices compare?
The published prices below are launch or local list prices from different dates and markets, not current offers. They show why there is no defensible single worldwide price difference.

What to check before buying
- Regional SKU: Confirm the Edge 70 Fusion chipset and configuration on the local manufacturer or retailer listing; the US and Japan specifications differ.
- Storage tier: Match storage capacity, not just the phone name. Samsung lists several configurations, and local availability varies.
- Camera needs: The listed camera hardware differs, but megapixel counts and feature names alone do not establish which phone takes better photos. No matched comparative camera test is established here.
- Durability expectations: IP ratings and Motorola’s MIL-STD 810H claims are based on manufacturer conditions; they do not mean protection is permanent or extend beyond those conditions.
- Update expectations: Treat Motorola’s stated US security-update end date as a regional security commitment, not as a matching number of Android OS upgrades.
Verdict
For a buyer who prioritizes a clearly stated multi-generation OS-upgrade policy, the Galaxy A57 has the stronger published commitment. For someone prioritizing a larger stated battery capacity and a higher maximum display refresh rate, the cited Edge 70 Fusion variants have the more appealing specifications. Decide only after confirming the local Edge 70 Fusion version and comparing same-market prices for equivalent storage; the available launch-price examples do not establish a current universal price gap.
