The iPhone 17 Pro Max and POCO F9 Ultra both have 6.9-inch high-refresh displays, but they take different approaches to cameras, storage, and charging. On the cited U.S. starting prices, the POCO is $400 cheaper; that comparison combines Apple’s 2025 launch price with a reviewer’s 2026 POCO price, so it is not a live, like-for-like quote.

How the displays and storage compare
Both phones have a 6.9-inch screen. Apple lists a 2868 × 1320 OLED panel with refresh rates up to 120Hz, while Xiaomi lists an AMOLED display reaching up to 185Hz. Those are manufacturer-stated maximums; they do not establish which screen looks better or feels smoother in everyday use.
Apple offers a 2TB top storage tier, compared with Xiaomi’s listed maximum of 1TB. Check the configuration available in your market and compare matching storage capacities when evaluating price; the POCO configurations also pair different storage tiers with different amounts of RAM.

Camera hardware: megapixels are not a quality ranking
Apple lists three 48MP rear cameras and an 18MP Center Stage front camera. Xiaomi lists a 200MP main camera with optical image stabilization, a 50MP periscope telephoto, a 50MP ultra-wide, and a 32MP front camera capable of recording video up to 4K at 30fps.
The specifications show different hardware choices, not a head-to-head image-quality result. Pixel counts alone cannot determine detail, low-light performance, color, stabilization, or video quality. Use camera samples and testing of the exact models if those outcomes matter to your decision.

Battery capacity and charging
Xiaomi lists an 8,050mAh typical battery for the POCO F9 Ultra, with 100W wired and 50W wireless charging. Apple’s cited iPhone specifications list MagSafe wireless charging up to 25W when paired with an adapter rated at 30W or higher. The figures do not establish comparative battery life or a guaranteed charging time: actual results depend on usage, conditions, and the charging equipment. Xiaomi says the 100W wired adapter is not included and wireless chargers are sold separately; availability can vary by country or region.

Apple’s U.S. price comes from its 2025 announcement; the POCO U.S. price is a reviewer-reported figure from 2026, not a matched retailer quote collected on the same date. The $400 difference is therefore a useful reference point, not a guarantee of today’s gap. The Spanish POCO prices are a separate regional example tied to a past promotional window. Check current local listings for the same storage tier, taxes, warranty, and seller terms before buying.
Quick Recap
What the specifications do—and do not—settle
- The POCO lists higher maximum refresh and charging figures. These specifications do not alone prove smoother real-world use, longer battery life, or faster charging in every circumstance.
- The iPhone offers more maximum storage. Apple lists configurations up to 2TB; Xiaomi lists the POCO up to 1TB.
- The camera specifications differ substantially. Neither megapixel totals nor lens labels establish which phone takes better photos or video.
- Water-resistance information is not directly comparable in the cited pages. Apple states an IP68 rating and test limits; the Xiaomi pages cited here do not show an equivalent rating. That absence is not proof that the POCO has no water-resistance protection.
- These are specifications and regional price reports, not a controlled comparison. They support feature-by-feature evaluation, not an overall winner based on tested performance.
