In India, the iPhone 16 is the smaller, more compact option with Apple’s 48 MP stabilized main camera and a 12 MP ultra-wide; the vivo S2 5G gives you a larger 120 Hz display, a 7,050 mAh typical battery and a lower launch price. Apple’s India store listed the 128 GB iPhone 16 at ₹89,900 when accessed, while vivo announced ₹39,999 for the S2 8 GB/128 GB and ₹44,999 for 8 GB/256 GB. Those prices are not same-day checkout quotes, but they show why the right choice depends on whether you value iOS and portability or a larger screen and lower outlay.
India price difference: iPhone 16 costs more
Apple India listed the iPhone 16 with 128 GB storage for ₹89,900 when accessed in 2026. vivo India’s launch announcement gave prices of ₹39,999 for the S2 5G with 8 GB RAM and 128 GB storage, and ₹44,999 for the 8 GB/256 GB version, inclusive of taxes. The vivo store also showed ₹39,999 for a selected 8 GB/128 GB color, but storefront prices can vary by selection and change over time.
Subtracting vivo’s 8 GB/128 GB launch price from Apple’s accessed listing gives a ₹49,901 difference. It is a comparison of unlike price bases—not a verified same-day checkout gap—so check the seller, color, stock and current price before buying. Display and size: bigger screen or easier handling?
vivo lists a 6.83-inch AMOLED display with 2800 × 1260 resolution, 449 ppi and a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz. Apple lists a 6.1-inch OLED display at 2556 × 1179 and 460 ppi. The vivo panel is larger and offers the higher stated refresh rate; the iPhone has a slightly higher pixel density. These figures describe specifications, not measured brightness, color accuracy or overall display quality.

The size difference carries into the body. Apple lists the iPhone 16 at 147.6 × 71.6 × 7.80 mm and 170 g. vivo lists the S2 at about 164.42 × 75.25 mm, 7.99 mm thick in Sapphire Blue and Regal Bronze or about 8.10 mm in Silk White, and 197 g or 199 g depending on color. Choose the iPhone if a smaller, lighter handset matters; the S2 is the more expansive viewing option.
Performance: different chips, no benchmark verdict
The iPhone 16 uses Apple’s A18, with a 6-core CPU, 5-core GPU and 16-core Neural Engine. The vivo S2 5G uses MediaTek’s Dimensity 7360-Turbo, an octa-core chip built on a 4 nm process. These specifications establish that the phones use different platforms; they do not establish which is faster in real apps or games. No comparable independent performance testing is available here, so choose based on your preferred operating system and the apps you use rather than treating core counts or chip names as a benchmark.

Cameras: stabilization and an ultra-wide versus megapixel counts
Apple lists a 48 MP Fusion main camera with ƒ/1.6 aperture and sensor-shift optical image stabilization, alongside a 12 MP ultra-wide camera with a 120-degree field of view. The system also supports 2× optical zoom in. vivo lists a 50 MP main rear camera and a 2 MP secondary camera, plus a 32 MP front camera. The vivo store advertises 4K video recording on both the front and rear cameras.

Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →The iPhone’s listed ultra-wide gives it a clearly specified alternate field of view, while Apple also specifies stabilization for its main camera. The vivo listing emphasizes higher front-camera resolution and 4K front and rear video. Megapixels alone do not show which phone takes better photos or video; image processing, lens performance and shooting conditions matter, and no controlled camera comparison is established here. For Apple’s camera and video details, see its India iPhone 16 specifications; vivo’s camera details are on its S2 store listing.

Battery and charging: the published figures measure different things
Apple estimates up to 22 hours of video playback for iPhone 16. vivo lists a 7,050 mAh typical-capacity battery and 44 W charging for the S2. Apple’s playback estimate and vivo’s capacity figure are not comparable measurements, so they cannot establish which phone lasts longer in everyday use. The S2 has a larger stated battery capacity and higher stated wired charging power; that alone is not a real-world endurance result.
Apple says iPhone 16 supports MagSafe and Qi2 wireless charging up to 25 W. Its box includes a USB-C cable, but not a power adapter or EarPods. The cited Apple specifications say a 20 W or higher adapter is needed for one fast-charge condition; check Apple’s charging requirements for the details. vivo’s store listing says the S2 package includes a charger, cable, case, eject tool and applied protective film, along with the phone, quick-start guide and warranty card. Connectivity, water protection and what is documented
For India, vivo lists two nano-SIM slots and 5G bands n1/n3/n5/n8/n28B/n38/n40/n41/n66/n77/n78. It also lists Wi-Fi on 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz networks, Bluetooth 5.4 and USB 2.0 Type-C. Apple’s India specifications should be checked for the exact iPhone 16 variant and supported local network features; SIM and network specifications can differ by region, so a US model’s details should not be assumed to apply to an Indian retail unit.

Apple lists iPhone 16 as IP68 under IEC 60529, with a stated maximum depth of 6 metres for up to 30 minutes. The official vivo S2 pages reviewed do not publish an IP rating. That absence is not proof that the phone has no water or dust resistance; it means a comparable rating is not established in those specifications.
Best Value
- The large 6.9-inch display combines ProMotion 120Hz technology with advanced color calibration, giving movies, games, and productivity apps a spacious, crisp, and fluid visual experience that’s ideal for multitasking or immersive media consumption.
Which phone should you choose?
- Choose iPhone 16 if you want a smaller, lighter phone, prefer Apple’s iOS ecosystem, value the listed stabilized main camera and ultra-wide combination, or want Apple’s published IP68 rating. Its India store listing price is substantially higher than vivo’s S2 launch price.
- Choose vivo S2 5G if a larger 120 Hz display, two physical nano-SIM slots, higher stated battery capacity, included charger and case, or a lower launch-price point matter more to you. Its camera megapixel figures do not by themselves guarantee better results.
- Compare the exact offers before checkout if storage is the deciding factor: the iPhone figure cited is for 128 GB, while vivo’s launch prices cover both 128 GB and 256 GB configurations. Verify the current price and the selected color, seller and package.
