The iPhone 17 Pro is the more compact option; the Galaxy S26 Ultra gives you a larger, higher-resolution display and a more varied rear-camera specification. In an India-market comparison accessed on October 7, 2026, both 256GB listings were close in price, with the Samsung listing ₹3,592 lower at that moment. That is a snapshot of marketplace listings, not a dependable price gap for every country or seller.

Refresh rate, camera resolution, battery capacity and charging ratings are useful points of comparison, but none alone establishes which phone is better in everyday use. Clock speeds are also not a direct performance comparison between different platforms.

How the screen size changes everyday use
Choose the iPhone for a smaller phone
At 6.3 inches, the iPhone 17 Pro has the smaller listed display. That may suit you if a less expansive screen and a more compact-feeling device matter more than viewing area. The comparison does not provide handset dimensions or weight, so screen size alone cannot establish which phone is easier to hold.

Choose the Samsung for more screen and resolution
The Galaxy S26 Ultra’s listed 6.9-inch screen is larger and has a higher pixel resolution than the iPhone’s 6.3-inch, 1206 × 2622 display. Both are listed at 120Hz. These figures describe size, resolution and refresh rate; they do not prove that one panel looks better in brightness, color, outdoor visibility or motion handling.
Camera hardware: range matters more than megapixel totals
The iPhone listing describes three 48MP rear cameras, including a 4x optical telephoto. Samsung’s listed rear setup has four cameras, with separate 3x and 5x telephoto cameras alongside a 200MP wide camera and 50MP ultrawide. On paper, the Samsung specification gives you two stated telephoto magnifications; the iPhone lists one.

- Super Magnetic Attraction: Powerful built-in magnets, easier place-and-go wireless charging and compatible with MagSafe
- Compatibility: Precise cutouts for easy access to all ports, buttons, sensors and cameras, soft and sensitive buttons with good response, are easy to press
- Matte Translucent Back: Features a flexible TPU frame and a matte coating on the hard PC back to provide you with a premium touch and excellent grip, while the entire matte back coating perfectly blocks smudges, fingerprints and even scratches

- Check your phone model: Before you order, please confirm your phone model to find out which product is right for you
That is a comparison of listed hardware, not a verdict on photos or video. Megapixel counts and camera count do not establish image quality, low-light performance, stabilization, color, autofocus or video consistency. The front-camera figures—18MP for iPhone and 12MP for Samsung—also do not determine which is better for selfies or calls. If camera or video quality is a deciding factor, look for current, controlled reviews that compare the exact models and the types of shots you take.
Battery capacity and charging ratings are not runtime tests
91mobiles lists a 3988mAh battery and 40W charging for the iPhone, versus 5000mAh and 60W Super Fast Charging for the Galaxy. Both entries list wireless charging. These numbers do not reveal how long either phone lasts in your routine or how quickly it charges from a given starting level; no comparable endurance or charging-time test is established by these specifications.

If battery life is important, prioritize independent testing under comparable conditions and consider your own use—such as screen time, camera recording and mobile signal—rather than treating capacity as a guarantee.
Performance, memory and storage
The comparison lists Apple A19 Pro with 12GB RAM for iPhone and Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 with 12GB RAM for Samsung. It also reports maximum clock figures of 4.26GHz and 4.61GHz respectively. Those clock speeds cannot be used as a cross-platform performance ranking: the phones use different processors and software, and the listing does not provide benchmark results.

Both comparison entries show 256GB of storage. Make sure the listings you compare actually match in storage; a different capacity can change the price and make a headline price comparison misleading.
Price difference: an India marketplace snapshot, not a universal price
On 91mobiles’ comparison page as accessed October 7, 2026, the 256GB iPhone 17 Pro appeared at ₹128,490 and the 256GB Galaxy S26 Ultra at ₹124,898, both as Amazon listings in India. The listed Samsung price was ₹3,592 lower at that time. These were observed marketplace prices, not verified manufacturer list prices, and they may change with seller, promotions, taxes and availability.
A separate Gadgets Now comparison surfaced a different Samsung price, which is another reason not to treat comparison-site listings as a single authoritative or durable figure. Check the Gadgets Now comparison. For a useful decision, compare live offers in your country for the same storage capacity, including the final checkout price and seller.
Which phone fits your priorities?
- Prefer a smaller screen: The iPhone’s listed display is 6.3 inches, compared with 6.9 inches on the Samsung.
- Want the larger, higher-resolution display: The Samsung has the larger listed screen and higher listed resolution; display quality beyond those specifications is not established here.
- Want more stated telephoto options: Samsung lists 3x and 5x telephoto cameras; iPhone lists a 4x optical telephoto. This describes camera configuration, not photo-quality results.
- Care most about real battery life or video quality: Seek current, comparable testing. The published capacities and camera specifications do not settle those questions.
- Already use one phone ecosystem or depend on a particular workflow: Give that practical fit weight alongside the hardware. The specifications do not establish which operating system, Windows file-transfer workflow, gimbal setup or long-term support experience will suit you better.
- Deciding on price: Compare current, like-for-like local listings for the same storage and account for seller, taxes and promotions; the cited India prices are only a dated snapshot.
A Reddit discussion illustrates the kinds of personal priorities buyers may weigh—including longevity, battery life, camera and video, low-light use, gimbal compatibility, Windows file transfer and ecosystem investment—but one user’s concerns are not evidence of how the phones perform on those measures.
