For the premium picture, the Panasonic Z95B OLED is the strongest pick; for a smaller OLED, consider the 48-inch Z90B; and for value, What Hi-Fi? recommends the W90A. These recommendations come from What Hi-Fi?’s guide updated January 12, 2026—not testing of every newly announced 2026 set. This guide is aimed at U.S. buyers: Panasonic’s 2026 American lineup differs from Europe’s, and final U.S. prices and model-level availability were not stated in the company’s lineup announcement.
Which Panasonic TV is best?
Choose based on the room, screen size, and how you will use the TV. Panasonic’s U.S. 2026 announcement names the Z95B as its OLED flagship and lists five additional series. The recommendations below also include two models selected by What Hi-Fi? from its own testing; those picks should not be mistaken for confirmed U.S. 2026 inventory.

The W90A is an older independently tested recommendation, not evidence of a confirmed 2026 U.S. sale or price. For newly announced U.S. models, compare exact specifications and local retailer listings before buying.

United States
Panasonic announced six U.S. series: Z95B OLED, W85C QD-Mini LED, W87C lifestyle QLED, W80C QLED, W75C QLED, and S65C compact QLED. The announcement said models were expected to begin arriving at authorized U.S. retailers in August 2026, while stating that pricing and model-level availability would be announced separately and that final details remained subject to confirmation. It does not establish current stock or a price for an individual model.

Europe
Panasonic’s European announcement covers a broader range, including Z95B, Z90B and Z85C OLED models, with Z86C named for the UK, plus Mini-LED, QLED, 4K LED and 2K LED sets. Sizes range from 32 to 86 inches depending on series. Smart-TV platforms include Fire TV, Google TV, Roku and TiVo, assigned by market and model. Do not assume a U.S. series, size, platform or feature set transfers to Europe, or vice versa. See Panasonic’s European 2026 TV lineup announcement for its regional outline.
What is the best Panasonic OLED TV?
Panasonic Z95B: the premium choice
Panasonic calls the Z95B its U.S. 2026 OLED flagship. The company describes a four-layer Primary RGB Tandem emission architecture intended to improve brightness, color purity and color volume, alongside ThermalFlow cooling for thermal management. These are manufacturer descriptions, not independent measurements.
What Hi-Fi?’s guide, updated January 12, 2026, recommends the Z95B as its premium Panasonic pick. Its review lists 55-, 65- and 77-inch versions, 4K resolution, Primary RGB Tandem OLED, Fire OS, HDR10, HDR10+, HLG and Dolby Vision. The guide reports rich, authentic color and strong contrast when the set is configured correctly. It also flags setup complexity, possible Fire OS lag, limited bass depth, and two HDMI 2.1 ports, one of which is the eARC connection. Its U.S. announcement lists 55- and 65-inch sizes, so do not assume the 77-inch version is part of that announced U.S. range.
Panasonic also describes a tuned Technics and Dolby Atmos sound system on the Z95B. What Hi-Fi? says a dedicated audio system can add bass and immersion. If you plan to connect a soundbar through eARC, count the remaining high-bandwidth HDMI inputs against your consoles and other devices.

Panasonic Z90B: a smaller OLED option
What Hi-Fi? selects the 48-inch Z90B for buyers seeking a smaller OLED. Its reviewers describe an authentic, weighty picture and better low-light color volume than rivals in their checks. They warn that the built-in sound is basic, with little directionality or low-end heft, and that two HDMI 2.1 ports include one used for eARC. The Z90B is named in Panasonic’s European lineup; its inclusion in an independent recommendation does not establish U.S. model availability.
Which Panasonic TV is best for a small room?
First decide whether a small room means limited viewing distance, a narrow furniture footprint, or simply a preference for a smaller screen. Panasonic’s U.S. announcement gives the S65C compact QLED 32-, 40- and 43-inch sizes, while the 48-inch Z90B is What Hi-Fi?’s small-screen OLED pick in its guide. They are different kinds of choices: the S65C is in the announced U.S. lineup, while the Z90B recommendation is tied to the European range and the publication’s testing.

Measure the space and check the exact model’s dimensions and stand footprint; do not infer a series’ size options from another series. For a darker room and movie-focused viewing, the Z90B’s OLED picture may suit the use case. For a compact U.S. option among the announced models, check the S65C sizes and local listings once available.
What is the best value Panasonic TV?
What Hi-Fi? names the W90A its value pick and the least expensive Panasonic TV it had reviewed and recommended. That is the guide’s editorial value assessment, not a current price comparison or a claim that the W90A is the cheapest 2026 model in every country.
In What Hi-Fi?’s review, the W90A uses a standard full-array local-dimming LED backlight rather than Mini-LED. The publication praises accurate, natural colors, motion handling and a three-dimensional image. Its cautions are lower brightness and greyer blacks than competing Mini-LED sets, some missed dark detail, and middling sound. The reviewed 55-inch model is listed with 4K/144Hz, 4K/120Hz, VRR, ALLM and two HDMI 2.1 inputs, one shared with eARC. Check the exact model and regional specification before relying on those features.

How to choose between OLED, Mini-LED and other Panasonic TVs
Room brightness and picture priorities
OLED is the more natural fit if contrast and cinematic viewing matter most, particularly in a controlled-light room. Panasonic positions Mini-LED for brighter-room performance. In Europe, selected models also have Glare Free treatments; that feature is not universal across the lineup. For the W97C and W95C, Panasonic states more than 1,000 local dimming zones, around 1,500 nits peak brightness and 110% DCI-P3. These are manufacturer specifications for those European models, not independent test results or guarantees for other series.

Movies and HDR
HDR format support varies by model. What Hi-Fi? lists HDR10, HDR10+, HLG and Dolby Vision for its reviewed Z95B. Panasonic says Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos appear across selected OLED and Mini-LED series, not every television. Confirm the specific model’s supported formats if you rely on a particular streaming service, disc player or home-theater setup.
Gaming and HDMI connections
Selected European models support features such as up to 144Hz, HDMI 2.1, VRR and low-latency modes; Panasonic does not say every series has every feature. The Z95B and Z90B recommendations each have two HDMI 2.1 ports, including eARC, according to What Hi-Fi?. If you have multiple consoles, a gaming PC and an eARC soundbar, check the exact port map and decide which devices need the highest-bandwidth inputs before purchasing.
Smart-TV platform
Platform choice is regional and model-specific. What Hi-Fi? lists Fire OS for its reviewed Z95B, while Panasonic’s European lineup names Fire TV, Google TV, Roku and TiVo across different markets and models. Check the local product specification rather than assuming a platform from a similarly named television sold elsewhere.
Quick Recap
What should you verify before buying?
- Market and model: Confirm the full model code is the one sold in your country; Panasonic’s U.S. and European lineups differ.
- Size and fit: Match the available screen size to viewing distance, furniture width and the model’s stand or wall-mount dimensions.
- Price and stock: Compare dated local retailer listings. Panasonic’s U.S. lineup announcement did not state final prices or model-level availability.
- Ports and gaming: Verify HDMI 2.1 count, eARC location, refresh-rate support, VRR and ALLM for the exact model.
- Picture and audio: Confirm HDR formats and built-in audio specifications; consider a separate audio system if the review’s sound caveats matter to you.
- Smart platform: Check the OS on the regional model and whether it supports the streaming apps and services you use.
