After an OriginOS update, review your app permissions, battery use, display comfort, and notification and Control Center layout—but don’t assume the update reset anything. Menus and features vary by Vivo model, region, and installed software version, so treat this as a checklist, not a promise that every option appears on every phone.
Check your OriginOS version first
Open Settings and look for About phone, or search Settings for “version” or “OriginOS.” Labels differ between models and builds. The settings below cover common areas to review; they do not guarantee identical paths or features across Vivo phones.
Vivo says feature availability can depend on the model, system version, region, and third-party services. Its OriginOS 6 page also identifies some features as limited to select models. Vivo’s OriginOS 7 feature page and OriginOS 6 page describe features, not a universal menu map.

Use Settings search for “permission” or “privacy” if you can’t find the relevant menu. Check whether each app still needs access to location, camera, microphone, photos or files, and notifications. Revoke access you no longer want, but don’t remove permissions blindly: navigation, camera, messaging, and other apps may need them for features you use.

Vivo’s OriginOS 7 page describes permission activity logs and suggestions when an app accesses permissions unusually often. The exact feature and its location may not be available on your phone. An older Vivo phone manual also documents permission and notification controls, but menu names can differ on newer software.
Check battery use before restricting apps
Open the battery section in Settings and inspect usage by app before changing background limits. If an app you rarely use is consuming unusual background power, consider restricting that app rather than applying a blanket limit. Background restrictions can delay notifications or interrupt work that needs to continue when an app is closed.

- Keep messaging apps unrestricted if you rely on timely alerts.
- Consider the needs of navigation apps, wearables, and other services that must run in the background.
- For apps that do not need to update or notify you in the background, a selective restriction may be reasonable.
Vivo documents battery estimates and power features, and its older manual describes battery-use and background-power controls. The available options and labels vary by phone. If battery life seems worse after an update, that timing alone does not establish that the update caused the drain or that a particular setting will fix it. A September 2026 Vivo Community post records a V27 user report, not a confirmed diagnosis or remedy: V27 battery drain after September 2026 update.

Set display options for your comfort
Check whether your phone offers adaptive or scenario-based brightness and a night or sleep comfort mode. Vivo lists scenario-adaptive brightness and Sleep Comfort Mode for OriginOS 6; its OriginOS 7 page describes Nighttime Eye Protection 4.0 for select models. Try the options available on your device and keep the settings that suit your preferences. These feature descriptions are not a claim of medical benefit.

Choose how notifications and quick controls appear
On OriginOS 6, a Vivo Community guide published November 2, 2025, says to search Settings for “Control center” and choose Separate or Merge. Confirm that the option and behavior match your model and build; this community guide is not a universal Vivo manual. Read the OriginOS 6 Control Center guide.

Verify the changes you made
After changing settings, check that essential apps still deliver notifications, background features you rely on continue working, and the display behaves as you prefer. If a menu or feature is missing, search Settings or check the instructions for your exact Vivo model and software version rather than assuming the update removed it.
