Do not assume that a specification for iPhone 17 Pro Max applies to an earlier Pro Max. Check Apple’s specifications for your exact model and the power bank manufacturer’s compatibility information. The cited Apple catalog listing and 25W figures do not establish compatibility or maximum charging rates for every Pro Max generation.
What does the 25W figure actually mean?
Apple specifies “MagSafe wireless charging up to 25W” and “Qi2 wireless charging up to 25W” for iPhone 17 Pro Max. These are phone charging specifications, not measured results for either named battery pack. Apple’s MagSafe 25W note is conditional: it describes use with a 30W-or-higher power adapter and named MagSafe charger models. That adapter condition does not show that a battery pack supplies 25W.

Apple reports that its MagSafe maximum-rate testing used preproduction iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max devices in July 2025 with specific MagSafe chargers and Apple power adapters. Apple says MagSafe chargers and battery packs snap to supported iPhone models or their MagSafe cases, with magnets helping align the accessory. That guidance does not establish that every magnetic battery pack works through every case. Check the exact pack’s compatibility guidance for both your iPhone generation and case. If your case is not identified as compatible, do not assume that magnetic attachment or wireless charging will work as intended.
