The latest stable LibreOffice version for Windows is 26.8.0, according to the official download page checked on October 7, 2026. It is available for Windows x86-64 and ARM64. If you prefer the mature previous release branch over the newest feature line, the release notes list version 26.2.6 as another option.
Which version should you download?
LibreOffice’s release notes describe 26.8.0 as the latest branch, recommended for technology enthusiasts who want new features and enhancements. Because it is the first release in that line, the notes caution that it may contain bugs addressed by later bug-fix releases. They describe 26.2.6 as the mature previous branch, suitable for all users and recommended for enterprises.

Download the Windows build that matches your PC
- Open the official LibreOffice download page.
- Select the Windows option that matches your computer: x86-64 or ARM64. If you are unsure which processor architecture your Windows PC uses, check Windows’ system information before downloading.
- Download the installer from the official page and follow its prompts. The page also provides mirror and torrent options.
The version-specific Windows x86-64 download page states that Windows 10 or newer is required. The general requirements page lists Windows 10 or 11 and Windows Server 2012 through 2022, and says Windows 11 is fully supported. The reviewed pages do not state an equivalent version-specific minimum operating system for the ARM64 download, so check its current listing before installing on an ARM device.

The download page highlights Markdown import and export, connectors in Writer and Calc, and improvements to EPUB export, scrolling, SVG export with bitmaps, and 3D charts. These are LibreOffice’s descriptions of the release, not independent performance test results.
Check these Windows installation requirements
The Document Foundation’s system requirements page lists the following Windows requirements. The page does not state when these requirements were published.

Java is needed for some LibreOffice features, notably Base, but not for most features. The requirements page also recommends backing up your system and data before removing or installing software. Consult the official system requirements if your computer has unusual hardware or a managed Windows setup.
