For VALORANT, start with Riot’s performance tiers, then choose a laptop whose exact configuration and display match your goals. Two manufacturer-listed RTX 4050 options worth comparing are the Lenovo LOQ 15ARP9 and ASUS TUF Gaming A16 (2024); neither cited product page establishes a VALORANT frame rate, so these are specification-based candidates, not a tested ranking.
What laptop does VALORANT require?
Riot Games Support publishes three PC performance tiers: 30 FPS minimum, 60 FPS recommended, and 144 FPS advanced. These are Riot’s system-guidance tiers, not guarantees that every laptop with a similarly named component will deliver the stated frame rate. Riot’s page was published September 22, 2025. See Riot’s VALORANT PC hardware requirements.
| Riot tier | Published performance target | Listed hardware examples |
|---|---|---|
| Minimum | 30 FPS | Riot lists this as its minimum tier. |
| Recommended | 60 FPS | Riot lists this as its recommended tier. |
| Advanced | 144 FPS | Intel Core i5-9400F or AMD Ryzen 5 2600X; NVIDIA GTX 1050 Ti, AMD Radeon R7 370, or Intel Arc A310. |
The cited requirements page also lists 4GB RAM, DirectX 11 support, and a processor that supports SSE 4.2 or AVX. A discrete graphics system needs at least 1GB of VRAM. Riot lists Windows 10 64-bit (build 190415 or later) and Windows 11 64-bit; Windows 11 requires TPM 2.0 and UEFI Secure Boot.

Which RTX 4050 laptops are worth comparing?
These two configurations combine an RTX 4050 Laptop GPU with a high-refresh display. The manufacturer specifications identify the hardware and screen, but do not provide comparable VALORANT tests. Display resolution, the exact SKU, cooling, and GPU power configuration all matter when judging a particular laptop.

How should you choose between them?
Match refresh rate to your goal
Both listed screens have a 144Hz refresh rate. A high-refresh display can show more frames when the laptop produces them, but the screen’s maximum refresh rate does not prove the game will sustain that frame rate. The cited sources do not measure VALORANT on either configuration.

The Lenovo listing specifies 1920×1080, while the ASUS listing specifies 1920×1200. The ASUS screen has more vertical pixels; that specification alone does not establish which laptop performs better in VALORANT. Riot’s tiers are useful for understanding the game’s published requirements, while the manufacturer pages establish selected hardware specifications. They do not show how either laptop performs in a same-settings VALORANT test. A GPU name by itself does not document laptop power limits, cooling, or sustained performance, so avoid treating the RTX 4050 label or 144Hz screen as an FPS guarantee.
