Samsung Galaxy AI does not have one universal language list. Support depends on the feature. As of Samsung’s October 14, 2026 announcement, Call Assist (including Live Translate), Note Assist, Interpreter and Transcript Assist support 24 languages. Writing Assist, Photo Assist and Creative Studio have the broadest listed coverage at 41 languages, while Now Nudge, recalled Now Brief data and Call Screening use separate 13-language lists.
Your actual choices can still vary with country, Galaxy model, carrier, Android/One UI version, Samsung Account status, network access and whether a language pack is installed.
The current Galaxy AI language totals
Samsung’s newest expansion applies to the features that translate, transcribe or summarize. The October 14, 2026 Global Newsroom update adds Hungarian and Malay to Call Assist/Live Translate, Note Assist, Interpreter and Transcript Assist, taking that group from the earlier 22-language FAQ list to 24.

| Galaxy AI feature group | Languages listed by Samsung | Primary job |
|---|---|---|
| Call Assist/Live Translate, Note Assist, Interpreter, Transcript Assist | 24 | Phone-call translation, in-person interpreting, note summaries, recording transcription and translation |
| Photo Assist, Creative Studio, Writing Assist | 41 | Image creation/editing, proofreading, rewriting, formatting, summarizing, translation and reply suggestions |
| Now Nudge and recalled data for Now Brief | 13 in Samsung’s FAQ snapshot; Samsung’s October announcement says eight additional languages bring Now Nudge to 24 | Contextual suggestions and personalized recalled information |
| Call Screening | 13 | Screening incoming calls |
The figures are not interchangeable. A language may be available for Writing Assist but absent from Interpreter, or available for Call Screening but not for Transcript Assist. Treat each feature’s list as its own compatibility check.
#1 Best Overall
- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. - Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
The 24 languages for translation, notes, interpreting and transcripts
The updated core group covers these languages. Parenthetical labels identify regional or script variants; they are not extra languages counted separately.
- Arabic
- Chinese (mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan variants)
- Dutch
- English (Australia, India, United Kingdom and United States variants)
- Filipino
- French (Canada and France variants)
- German
- Gujarati
- Hindi
- Hungarian
- Indonesian
- Italian
- Japanese
- Korean
- Malay
- Polish
- Portuguese (Brazil and Europe variants)
- Romanian
- Russian
- Spanish (Mexico, Spain and United States variants)
- Swedish
- Thai
- Turkish
- Vietnamese
Hungarian and Malay are the two additions identified in Samsung’s October 2026 announcement. The earlier Samsung FAQ listed 22 languages for this group, so older support charts may not include them.
Call Assist and Live Translate
Live Translate translates a phone conversation in real time, providing voice and text output. Samsung says a network connection is required to receive call messages, a Samsung Account is required, and some languages need a downloadable language pack. Availability can differ by language and region.

Interpreter handles face-to-face speech in listening or conversation mode. Translated text appears on the Galaxy phone, and spoken translations can be sent to compatible Galaxy Buds. Samsung notes that a language pack may be required and that device, operating-system or One UI version, carrier and regional availability can change what appears.

Note Assist
Note Assist creates summaries and pre-formatted notes. Samsung’s documentation says availability varies by language and that automatic formatting or summarization requires at least 200 characters. A short note may therefore support the language but still fail the minimum-length requirement.
Transcript Assist
Transcript Assist transcribes recordings, creates summaries and translates them. Transcription and summarization require a network connection and Samsung Account. Samsung restricts supported input to specified Samsung recording apps or files, and audio must be shorter than three hours.
The 41 languages for Writing Assist, Photo Assist and Creative Studio
Samsung’s FAQ gives these three features the largest listed language set:
- English
- Portuguese
- Spanish
- French
- Korean
- German
- Italian
- Chinese (Simplified and Traditional)
- Japanese
- Hindi
- Polish
- Thai
- Vietnamese
- Arabic
- Russian
- Indonesian
- Turkish
- Dutch
- Swedish
- Romanian
- Czech
- Danish
- Finnish
- Hungarian
- Ukrainian
- Hebrew
- Greek
- Serbian
- Bulgarian
- Croatian
- Norwegian
- Slovak
- Lithuanian
- Slovenian
- Latvian
- Estonian
- Bengali
- Swahili
- Filipino
- Gujarati
Writing Assist can proofread, reformat, rewrite, summarize, translate selected text and suggest replies. Photo Assist and Creative Studio use the same 41-language set in Samsung’s FAQ, although the exact controls and output differ because they are image-focused rather than text-focused.

- Flawless 4K@60Hz Video with HDMI: Delivers exceptional clarity and smoothness with its 4K@60Hz HDMI port, making it ideal for high-definition presentations and entertainment. (Note: Only the HDMI port supports video projection; the USB-C port is for data transfer only.)

- Fast and Reliable 85W Charging: Offers high-capacity, speedy charging for laptops up to 85W, so you spend less time tethered to an outlet and more time being productive.
- What You Get: Anker USB-C Hub (7-in-1), welcome guide, 18-month warranty, and our friendly customer service.
Notice that this set does not use every regional distinction shown in the 24-language translation list. For example, the FAQ names Portuguese and Spanish without listing the regional variants that Samsung specifies for some translation features.
Now Nudge and Now Brief recalled data
Samsung’s FAQ snapshot lists 13 languages for Now Nudge and recalled data used by Now Brief:
- Korean
- English
- Spanish
- Italian
- German
- French
- Portuguese
- Polish
- Simplified Chinese
- Japanese
- Thai
- Hindi
- Vietnamese
Now Nudge provides context-aware suggestions based on what is on screen. The October 2026 announcement says eight additional languages bring Now Nudge to 24, which means the newest rollout is ahead of the older FAQ table. Samsung’s published material does not identify the eight additions in the supplied announcement, so you should rely on the language selector on your model rather than assume every one of the 24 core languages is already enabled for Now Nudge.

Recalled data for Now Brief is a separate capability in the FAQ’s 13-language list. Do not infer that a language added to Now Nudge automatically applies to recalled Now Brief data.

Call Screening’s separate 13-language list
Call Screening supports the following languages in Samsung’s FAQ:
- English
- Portuguese
- Spanish
- French
- German
- Italian
- Simplified Chinese
- Japanese
- Korean
- Thai
- Polish
- Vietnamese
- Hindi
This is a dedicated list for screening calls, not a reduced version of the 24-language Live Translate list. For example, Arabic, Indonesian and Turkish appear in the 24-language group but not in the Call Screening list published in the FAQ.
What you need for Galaxy AI language features
- Compatible hardware: Samsung says availability can vary by Galaxy model. A feature shown in marketing for one device may not appear on another.
- Current software: Device, operating-system and One UI versions can affect Interpreter and other features. The October 2026 additions may require a software rollout that is not simultaneous in every market.
- Region and carrier: Samsung states that certain Galaxy AI features vary by region and model; carrier support can also affect Interpreter availability.
- Samsung Account: Live Translate requires one, and Transcript Assist requires one for transcription and summaries.
- Network connection: Live Translate needs connectivity to receive call messages. Transcript Assist needs a network for transcription and summarization. Other functions may combine on-device and online processing, so check the feature’s own notice.
- Language packs: Live Translate and Interpreter may ask you to download a pack for the selected language. Install it before travelling or starting a call if you expect limited connectivity.
- Accessory for spoken Interpreter output: Galaxy Buds can receive the spoken translation while the phone displays the translated transcript. Buds are useful for listening, but they do not expand the underlying language list.
How to check support on your own Galaxy phone
- Update the phone to the latest software offered for your model and region, then restart if the update requests it.
- Open the Galaxy AI feature you intend to use—such as Interpreter, Call Assist, Note Assist, Transcript Assist or Writing Assist—rather than checking a general Galaxy AI page.
- Open that feature’s language selector and look for the exact language or regional variant you need. A selector may distinguish English, Chinese, French, Portuguese or Spanish variants.
- If the language is listed, follow the prompt to download its language pack when one is offered. Keep enough storage available and complete the download before relying on the feature offline or while travelling.
- Sign in to your Samsung Account and enable network access for functions that require it. For Transcript Assist, choose a supported Samsung recording source and keep the recording below three hours.
- Run a short test in the actual mode you will use. For Note Assist, make the note at least 200 characters if you need automatic formatting or a summary; for Interpreter, test both the phone transcript and any Galaxy Buds audio.
If a language is missing, first check the model, region, carrier and One UI version. A missing option does not necessarily mean Samsung has removed the language globally; staged rollouts and regional rules can produce different lists.
Common misunderstandings and limitations
“Galaxy AI supports my language” is too broad
Support is feature-specific. The 41-language Writing Assist set is not a promise that the same language works for calls, recordings or call screening. Always match the language to the task.
Best Value
- 5-in-1 Connectivity: Equipped with a 4K HDMI port, a 5 Gbps USB-C data port, two 5 Gbps USB-A ports, and a USB C 100W PD-IN port. Note: The USB C 100W PD-IN port supports only charging and does not support data transfer devices such as headphones or speakers.
- Powerful Pass-Through Charging: Supports up to 85W pass-through charging so you can power up your laptop while you use the hub. Note: Pass-through charging requires a charger (not included). Note: To achieve full power for iPad, we recommend using a 45W wall charger.
- Transfer Files in Seconds: Move files to and from your laptop at speeds of up to 5 Gbps via the USB-C and USB-A data ports. Note: The USB C 5Gbps Data port does not support video output.
- HD Display: Connect to the HDMI port to stream or mirror content to an external monitor in resolutions of up to 4K@30Hz. Note: The USB-C ports do not support video output.
- What You Get: Anker 332 USB-C Hub (5-in-1), welcome guide, our worry-free 18-month warranty, and friendly customer service.
A language name may hide regional behavior
Samsung identifies regional variants for Chinese, English, French, Portuguese and Spanish in the 24-language group. Speech recognition, translation quality and available downloads can therefore depend on the selected variant, not just the family name.
Language support does not remove service requirements
A supported language can still require a Samsung Account, a network connection, a language-pack download, a compatible recording source or a minimum note length. Interpreter’s Buds audio is an output option, not a replacement for those requirements.
Older charts can be out of date
Samsung’s historical 2025 business material described 20 languages for the core translation group and 39 for Writing Assist. The later 2026 FAQ raised Writing Assist, Photo Assist and Creative Studio to 41, and the October 2026 announcement raised the core group to 24. Date the list you are using before comparing it with your phone.

The Bottom Line
For 2026, the practical answer is feature-by-feature: 24 languages for Samsung’s main translation, interpreting, note and transcript tools; 41 for Writing Assist, Photo Assist and Creative Studio; and separate 13-language lists for Now Brief recalled data and Call Screening. Verify the selector on your specific Galaxy phone because region, model, software, carrier, account, network and language-pack requirements can change what you can actually use.
