Start with five changes, in this order: install any official system update offered for your phone, set a strong screen lock, choose a refresh rate that matches your priorities, review battery and power-saving controls, and check that your network mode suits your carrier. These steps improve security and reliability without pretending there is one universally perfect configuration.
Before changing anything, confirm the exact regional variant. Infinix’s India product page identifies the phone as HOT 70 Pro, model X6896, with XOS 16 based on Android 16. The Russian regional page calls the same model HOT 70 Pro 5G+. Names, available features and menu labels can differ by country and software build, so use the name and model number shown on your box or in Settings.
1. Confirm the model and software build
Open the phone’s device-information screen and note the model number, Android version and XOS version. The India specification page lists model X6896, a 6.76-inch display with 1080 × 2344 resolution, refresh-rate choices of 45Hz, 90Hz, 120Hz and 144Hz, a typical 6000mAh battery, 45W charging, a 50MP rear camera and an 8MP front camera. These are manufacturer specifications rather than independent test results; hardware and feature availability can vary by market.

Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Regional naming is not merely cosmetic. Infinix’s Russian page uses HOT 70 Pro 5G+ for X6896, while the India page says HOT 70 Pro. If an online guide shows a menu that you cannot find, search Settings for the setting name and check your build before assuming that the phone is missing a feature.

- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
The launch announcement says Infinix is committing to up to three major OS upgrades and five years of security patches for the HOT 70 Pro 5G. That is a stated maximum, not a guarantee that every market receives every release on the same date. Confirm the terms for your country and exact model before relying on a particular upgrade schedule.
2. Install an official update before personalizing the phone
Updates can change security behavior, available controls and the wording of menus. Infinix’s generic FAQ directs owners to Settings > About phone to check current updates, drivers and the operating system. On a different XOS build the item may be named Software update or System update; use the Settings search field if About phone does not show an update entry.
- Connect to a reliable Wi-Fi network and charge the phone sufficiently for the download and restart.
- Open Settings > About phone, then select the available update option.
- Read the version, download size and change log. Install only an update offered to your device by Infinix or your carrier.
- Allow the phone to restart, then return to the same screen to verify the installed version.
Do not sideload firmware intended for another region or model. The X6896 name is shared by regional variants, but feature availability and battery configuration can still differ. If an update is not offered, that does not prove your phone is unsupported; staged rollouts and carrier approval can delay availability.

3. Secure the screen
A screen lock protects photos, messages, account tokens and stored payment information if the phone is lost. Infinix’s FAQ gives the generic path Settings > Security > Screen lock. The FAQ’s wording is general guidance rather than a device-specific screen capture, so labels can differ on your build.
- Open Settings > Security > Screen lock, or search Settings for “screen lock.”
- Choose a PIN or password that is not reused elsewhere. A pattern is convenient but can reveal a trace on a frequently cleaned screen.
- Complete any fingerprint or face-unlock enrollment offered after the primary lock is set. Keep the PIN or password because Android requires the primary credential after a restart and for some sensitive changes.
- Review lock timing and lock-screen notification visibility so a passerby cannot read one-time codes or message previews.
Biometric options and their exact setup sequence are not specified in the published HOT 70 Pro material. Follow the controls actually shown on your phone rather than importing instructions from another Infinix model.
4. Choose a refresh rate deliberately
The display is one of the few settings where your preference is immediately visible. Infinix lists 45Hz, 90Hz, 120Hz and 144Hz options, and its India FAQ describes the phone as having an FHD+ punch-hole display with a 144Hz refresh rate. A higher rate can make scrolling and supported animation look smoother; a lower rate may suit someone who prioritizes efficiency or prefers less motion. The supplied specifications do not quantify battery savings for any option.

| Refresh rate | Best fit | What to expect |
|---|---|---|
| 45Hz | Efficiency-first use or static content | Less fluid scrolling, with no manufacturer-published battery saving figure. |
| 90Hz | Balanced everyday use | Smoother than a basic low-rate mode while avoiding the phone’s highest animation rate. |
| 120Hz | Users who want very smooth scrolling | High fluidity; actual power impact depends on brightness, apps, network and workload. |
| 144Hz | Maximum supported smoothness in compatible situations | The top listed rate; not every app or game renders at 144 frames per second. |
Look in Display settings for a refresh-rate or screen-refresh option. If the phone offers an automatic mode, it may vary the rate by content; the available label and behavior depend on the XOS build. Change one setting, use the phone for a day, and decide based on comfort and charging habits rather than an assumed percentage improvement.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute5. Review battery use and power saving
The India product page lists a typical 6000mAh battery and 45W charging. A launch announcement notes that battery configuration and features can vary by market and configuration, so treat those figures as the specification for the cited variant, not a promise that every regional package is identical.
Infinix’s generic FAQ places power-saving controls under Settings > Battery. Start by looking at the battery-usage list, not by turning on every restriction:

- Please Note: To reach 10Gbps speed, keep the cable under 3.3 ft. For USB A Male to USB C adapters, try flipping the USB C connector. USB C Male to USB A adapters support bidirectional 10Gbps transfer within 3.3 ft
- Identify apps using an unusually large share of power in the background.
- Restrict background activity only for apps that do not need timely notifications, such as an occasional shopping or game app.
- Leave messaging, authentication and navigation apps unrestricted when delayed alerts would cause a problem.
- Use the phone’s standard power-saving mode when you need longer operation, and read its warning because it may reduce background sync, performance or visual effects.
There is no published HOT 70 Pro test establishing how many hours a particular power-saving setting adds. Brightness, mobile-signal strength, camera use, gaming, refresh rate and temperature all affect runtime. Treat the Battery screen as a diagnostic tool and change the app responsible for drain instead of applying a blanket restriction.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.6. Match network behavior to your carrier
The product page lists 5G, 4G, 3G and 2G support, but Infinix warns that bandwidth availability and connectivity vary by region and provider. Consequently, there is no universally correct preferred-network setting.
| Your situation | Practical choice | Reasoning |
|---|---|---|
| Reliable local 5G coverage and a plan that includes it | Use the 5G-capable option shown by your carrier or XOS build. | You can use available 5G capacity, but coverage and indoor performance still depend on the provider. |
| Frequent travel or weak 5G coverage | Use an automatic mode, if offered, that includes 4G. | It lets the phone fall back when 5G is unavailable instead of losing service. |
| Battery or stability problems in a marginal 5G area | Temporarily test a 4G-preferred option if your carrier supports it. | A phone repeatedly searching for a weak 5G signal can behave differently from one held on a stable 4G connection; your own usage is the deciding evidence. |
Find the control by searching Settings for preferred network type, mobile network or 5G; the exact path is not provided in the manufacturer’s published HOT 70 Pro material. Check both SIMs separately if you use dual SIM, and verify that your plan and local bands support the mode you select. Do not disable a network generation solely because an online guide recommends it for a different country.

7. Make only issue-driven display and camera changes
Auto-rotate
Auto-rotate is a convenience setting, not a required optimization. If the screen stays portrait when you turn the phone, Infinix’s generic troubleshooting guidance points to Settings > Display to enable auto-rotate. You can also use the quick-settings tile if your build exposes one. If rotation works normally, there is no reason to change it during initial setup.
Camera reset
Do not reset camera settings as a routine first step. For a camera configuration problem, the FAQ gives the path Camera > Settings > Restore defaults. Restoring defaults can remove preferences such as resolution, watermark or shooting-mode choices, so use it only after noting settings you want to recreate. It is a troubleshooting reset, not a performance upgrade.
8. Avoid changes that promise unsupported gains
- Do not claim a guaranteed battery life simply from selecting 45Hz, enabling power saving or using 4G. No model-specific measurement establishes such a guarantee.
- Do not assume an IP rating makes the phone safe to submerge. The regional specification page says IP68 protection can deteriorate with wear or physical damage and that submersion damage is not covered by warranty.
- Do not install a firmware package for a different country, even when the model number appears similar.
- Do not disable security scans, lock-screen protection or update checks to make a benchmark or game launch faster.
- Do not expect every application to display at 144Hz; the app, game engine and workload determine the rendered frame rate.
9. A sensible first-day order
If you want a single sequence, use this checklist and stop when a step does not apply to your build:
- Record the regional name, model X6896 (if shown), XOS version and Android version.
- Check Settings > About phone for an official update and install it before restoring many apps.
- Set a PIN or password at Settings > Security > Screen lock, then add biometrics only if offered and useful to you.
- Choose 45Hz, 90Hz, 120Hz or 144Hz in Display settings according to smoothness and efficiency preference.
- Open Settings > Battery, inspect usage, and enable power saving only when its restrictions suit your needs.
- Check mobile-network controls against your carrier’s coverage, plan and country rather than copying a foreign recommendation.
- Leave auto-rotate and camera defaults alone unless you are solving a specific problem.
This order puts security and software support ahead of cosmetic tuning, while leaving network and battery decisions adjustable as you learn how your own coverage, apps and charging routine affect the phone.
